Chapter 27 - Sam

"What is your name?" I asked when we were finally alone at my chamber..

"I'm Sam and I am glad the Queen chose me to pleasure her. I will not disappoint. " he said confidently.

Did he think I chose him to satisfy me? The thought of that was making me sick .

"So how did you end up like this? You are too young to be a concubine. "

Sam's eyes welled up as he began to speak, his voice trembling. "I was just a kid when I found out I was an orphan. I don't remember much about my parents, but I remember the feeling of being alone. The orphanage was cold, and the people were kind, but it wasn't home."

He paused, collecting himself. "I grew up feeling like I didn't belong anywhere. I'd see families adopting other kids, and I'd wonder what was wrong with me. Why didn't anyone want me?"

Sam's voice cracked. "I tried to be good, to be perfect, thinking maybe if I was good enough, someone would adopt me. But year after year, I watched as families came and went, cooing over the babies and ignoring the older kids like me."

He looked up, his eyes red-rimmed. "One day, I realized I was going to be stuck in that place forever. That no one was ever going to love me, to want me. It felt like my heart was shattering into a million pieces."

He took a deep breath, his voice barely above a whisper. "But you know what the worst part is? It's not even feeling unloved – it's feeling like I'm not worthy of love. Like I'm not enough."

As he spoke, his words hung in the air, heavy with emotion. I could feel the weight of his pain, the ache of his loneliness. It was as if his story had awakened something deep within me, a sense of empathy and understanding.

"But that's all in the past, so my Queen shall we start?" He smiled taking off his red robe.

"Put your robe back on. Does being my concubine only mean that you're here to satisfy me?"

"It means that I shall be only loyal to you, I will be at your service anytime you need me."

Maybe he could help me with my plans. He seemed like someone who could be trusted. I needed an ally because I couldn't do this alone.

"Then I need you to do something for me."
