Chapter 30 - Caught

I cursed my luck as I peeked out of the armoire, watching as he walked into the bathroom. I had been waiting for what felt like an eternity for him to fall asleep, but he seemed to be staying awake indefinitely. And now, he was getting in the shower.

The water started running, and I knew I had a small window of opportunity. But as I prepared to make a break for it, I noticed he hadn't closed the bathroom door all the way. No, instead, he had closed the bedroom door, trapping me inside. Frustration welled up inside me. Was I going to be stuck in this armoire forever?

I watched as the bathroom door creaked open a crack, and steam escaped, fogging up the room. My heart sank. He was going to make this impossible. My chance was slipping away. I had to act now, or risk being trapped forever. With a surge of adrenaline, I pushed open the armoire door, ready to make my escape. But as I stepped out, the floor creaked beneath my feet. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest. Had he heard me?

But when I looked at him his eyes were shut, was he asleep?

Now I had to look for the keys, I saw it on top of his desk. I moved with the silence of a ghost, my feet barely making a whisper on the cold marble floor. My heart pounded in my chest, but I breathed deeply, calming my nerves.

But just as I grabbed the keys, heading to open the door, on my way to freedom. I stopped in my tracks when I had him speak.

"I was starting to think you'd never come out." He said coldly
