Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - Realizing The Situation

On the bed, Zhou Jingxuan lay pondering. This reincarnation was close to impossible and had only a very small chance of success. Why was that? Because in this world, time flowed extremely linearly in one direction. That was why there was a saying here: "Once time passes, it's gone for good."

What shocked him the most was that he had been reincarnated three hundred years ago—not just a few months, not a year or two, but an entire three centuries back. The inheritance had only a small chance to succeed, but the result was extremely amazing.

Although he had not wished to be reborn three hundred years ago—he had only wanted to return a few months before, just enough to avoid the trap—it was not exactly a bad thing. After all, he now carried knowledge of the future, which he could use to progress even further in cultivation. Though he had once been a Divine Rank master, starting again as a mortal was not a loss. With the knowledge of the future he possessed, he could seize opportunities and gain even greater strength.

As he pondered, he discovered that through some mysterious connection, they could sense each other. He was familiar with this feeling.

This was another inheritance, one they had obtained before the Time Inheritance of reincarnation. It had been left behind by a transmigrator couple, and it was extremely profound.

It was not like the Time Inheritance, which was half-baked. If reincarnation failed, then nothing would remain—soul, body, everything would be eradicated. That was the reason this inheritance had been left behind in the first place; otherwise, its creators would have used it themselves.

The reincarnation time inheritance carried its own fatal flaw: lifespan. Even if one was reborn young, their allotted years did not reset. The clock of life would continue from where it had been before rebirth.

For these reasons, the couple chose to die peacefully and leave behind their inheritance for future generations.

The Time Inheritance of rebirth was also intended only for reference. It had great referential value, but aside from this, there were many things in the inheritance they could not check due to their pursuers. But the Transmigrators' Inheritance held true value. Its most important feature was that it allowed them to live the lives of the transmigrators before they had transmigrated.

Because of this inheritance, Jingxuan had experienced a life in a place called Earth.

This transmigrator couple had also founded a unique method of marriage, which allowed the couple to sense each other. That was the reason they were able to sense each other even after reincarnation.

He had methods that could be used to communicate with Meng Die even though they were tens of thousands of kilometers apart. But he had just reincarnated, so he couldn't use them yet. The first thing he had to do was gain enough strength and foundation; only then could he use his methods to communicate with her.

After realizing the situation, he planned for his future the whole night. Soon, the dawn's light pierced Si Fanghu Town.

A young servant boy named Fu Wei knocked harshly on the door. Jingxuan was terribly irritated because he was extremely sleepy and had just closed his eyes. He had not slept the entire night, busy making plans for the future.

Jingxuan had dark circles under his eyes. He opened the door in low spirits and saw the servant holding a letter.

The servant wore a rude expression as he handed the letter over in an arrogant tone:

"Here is your letter. It's from Zhou Mingji Academy."

Jingxuan took the envelope and opened it. Inside, there was a letter which stated:

"The awakening ceremony will be in three days."

Reading this, Jingxuan's eyes brightened.

Inside the study room of the western palace, a middle-aged man sat before a desk. He had a handsome face, and his long blue hair reached his shoulders. He wore a dark blue robe, and on his left chest was a golden-plated badge with a Night Wolf engraved on it. Below the wolf were two words: Clan Head.

With a calm expression, he spoke:

"I believe you are satisfied with the position of clan elder and having your surname changed to Ye, Ye Junxi."

In front of him, a young man was kneeling. He had a plain appearance, a strong physique, and short black hair. He wore sleeveless light blue battlefield attire. Speaking with respect and loyalty, he said:

"It is all thanks to the grace of the Clan Head."

Hearing this, Clan Head Ye Wei smiled.

"You can leave now. Ah, and don't forget to take good care of the girl. I don't want any kind of trouble."

Ye Junxi's lips curled into an evil grin as he replied:

"Rest assured, my lord. I'll take good care of her."

After speaking, he quietly left the room without a sound.

Inside the eastern palace of Yelan City, Meng Die was pacing around her room, analyzing her terrible situation. This was the worst moment of her life. It was only thanks to great luck that she had escaped the city safely in her previous life.

Now, even with her past memories, she had no confidence in escaping safely with her sister. The danger was immense. Her uncle had seized the clan head's position, and through meticulous planning, killed the former head, her father. He was a cunning old fox, both powerful and ruthless. In her previous life, he had ruled the vast Ye Clan—many times larger than the four alliances of Si Fanghu—with an iron fist.

She was not afraid of her uncle. Who was she? A Rank 7 Demon Goddess. How could she be afraid of a mere mortal?

Ye Meng Die's lips curved, a cold light flashing in her eyes. "Uncle, the future will be interesting."

Actually, her talent was extremely outstanding. Combined with her previous life memories and the transmigrators' inheritance, in just ten to fifteen years she could easily gain enough strength to escape.

Her transmigrator inheritance was to experience life on a magical planet called Ignis. This was different from Jingxuan's inheritance, which let him experience life on Earth. Earth had no magic or mysterious powers and was completely different from the Ming Ji world. Ignis, however, was a magical planet, similar in many ways to this world. Through its influence, her understanding of the Ming Ji world had greatly increased.

But under her uncle's watch, cultivating rapidly was simply asking for death. She was older than Jingxuan, so she had already awakened and reached Rank 2, middle stage. Her uncle didn't bother with someone at that level and had left her alone.

However, once she progressed further, he would grow wary of her and eventually kill her. That was why she couldn't just blindly cultivate.

Most of all, she was always being watched by her traitor brother. Thinking of him, killing intent rose in her heart, and a cold light flashed in her eyes as she muttered, "Ye Junxi, you traitorous scoundrel. I'll tear you apart limb by limb."

He was an adopted son, taken in by her father when he was just a baby. With his great talent, her father, Ye Hao Long, doted on him deeply.

But that bastard had been the one to deal the final blow to her father. He had even requested marriage with Meng Die from the current clan head, her uncle. That was one of the reasons she had been kept alive and left alone. As for her sister, she too was not spared—she was engaged to her uncle's right-hand man, another culprit behind her father's death.

Her situation was too terrible. She could not cultivate and progress if she couldn't hide her growth. But it was not easy to achieve such a feat. Let alone her uncle—even the Ye Clan's guards could detect if she had advanced even a little.

So her first goal in this perilous situation was to find methods suitable for hiding her progress. As she was pondering and carefully planning her way out of this danger, the night passed. It was still a few hours before dawn, but she was just a young girl, and exhaustion overwhelmed her. Lying on her bed, she closed her eyes and unknowingly fell asleep.
