Theo spun just in time to see the red bloom of blood spreading across Frank's chest.

The shot came so fast that the sound reached them a heartbeat late, echoing through the stone walls like it was meant to be this way.

Like, Frank lived his life just to die here after telling the truth that didn't belong to him.

"Aaah!" Danielle gasped and covered her mouth.

Frank staggered backward, having his eyes so full and wide in disbelief. His hands reached for air, grasping nothing. 

His knees buckled as he collapsed onto the ground with a dull thud.

"Frank!" Danielle cried.

Theo was already moving.

He dropped to his knees beside him, pressing both hands hard against the wound, even though he knew. 

There was too much blood. Too much force. And the angle was perfect. The sniper wanted this one to count.
