Chapter 161 - Like An Object-II

Hades's expression shifted into something she could not immediately name. It was not anger, not pride, nor was it that restrained irritation he wore so often. It was different than that. He drew back slightly, his gaze lowering as though he were retreating somewhere deep inside his own thoughts. For a fleeting second, she almost wished she could pry open that beautiful, guarded mind of his and see what storms brewed within.

Then he spoke.

"One day you will come to hate me."

The certainty in his voice startled her more than the words themselves.

She blinked, tilting her head as she considered him seriously instead of reacting. Hate him? The idea felt distant, almost impossible as trying to fly without wings. But she did not dismiss it outright.

"If that happens," she said thoughtfully, "then I will need you to apologize."

She reached forward gently, her fingers brushing against his. Her smile turned shy, almost sheepish, yet unwavering.
