The video playing on the damned screen right now was the one — the same one sent to me the night Owen broke off our engagement. And no, it wasn't from me. I wasn't that petty.
I had no clue who did it. Maybe from the same anonymous sender from before. Whoever it was, they clearly had timing.
"Someone turn this damned thing off!" Owen bellowed, snapping everyone out of their trance.
He spun to Camilla, who still looked dazed, gripping her shoulders and shaking her. "That's not me! It's AI. Obviously, someone's jealous and trying to ruin me!"
I snorted a short laugh. He was such a skilled liar. Anyone with a functioning brain and working eyes could see the video was real. Watching it again only reignited the anger I'd buried since the night it first landed in my inbox.
