Chapter 228 - Let go of your differences

My fingers tightened around my phone as I listened to Richard.

Harper. She was at SynCore? Even after I had stopped her from going, she still went?

It was a Saturday. What could she possibly be doing there? And was she with that bastard? Had he suggested they go together?

"I don't think you're going to like this, boss," Richard said, his voice heavy.

"Tell me," I ordered.

I hadn't liked what he told me a few seconds ago. It wouldn't be surprising if I hated what came next. Everything seemed to circle back to SynCore. And I hated that Harper had to be involved too.

"I think she's considering partnering with him. That's probably why her fiancé hasn't tried contacting you again," he said carefully.

I let out a dry, humorless laugh. "You're joking, right?"

Richard went quiet for a moment before answering. "I wish I was."

I slammed my hand against the steering wheel, fury burning through me.
