To be completely honest, I never once thought that the day I'd leave the backlands would ever come.
Haha.
Hell, I couldn't even conceive that thought.
Might've been because it was inborn; the caged mentality.
All I cared about was doing all I could to somehow survive every single day in the cage I found myself in. To survive in these backlands.
And so, for me, and probably all other residents of the backlands, leaving this island was nothing short of impossible.
So, in a way, those sparrows were right.
There was no way to cross the great seas that surrounded this dejected island.
Seas that didn't even house fish. Only evolved sea creatures, large and small. Creatures that possessed ranked Tils.
There were talks about vanguards and skilled defences being positioned around the entire backlands, whereby those people fought day and night to ensure that the sea creatures never made their way into the island.
