Himiko smiled, one hand behind her back as she leaned close to his face.
"I was right, you are the guy from that night, aren't you?"
Although the rain around them still poured down so heavily that the pitter-pat sounds drowned the world around them, to Kyle it was as though it didn't exist.
All his senses were currently focused on the girl in front of him, the first person he had met when he arrived in this world.
Himiko…
She was smiling brightly, leaning towards him like a curious high school girl. She looked so innocent, and yet, Kyle knew just how dark she could be.
At this point in the story, Himiko had already murdered a few people, her life was already a mess and if not for her mask, she would have been behind bars already.
But even still, it was still early…
Himiko had never received proper guidance, so she let her bloodlust take over her to the point she had no control over it.
Joining the villain league later would only further worsen her chances of having a good life, but thankfully, that was later on in the story.
According to the plot, Shigaraki would not be forming the new league at this time.
Kyle smiled back at her. "You're the girl that bought me water back then, right?" Kyle faked a nervous smile and offered her his hand.
"I'm Kyle—"
Himiko suddenly grabbed his hand and pulled him along with her, right into the pouring rain.
Her umbrella lay discarded by the sidewalk, Himiko giggling as they were assaulted by the storm.
As they ran across the street, she turned back briefly to smile at him. "I'm Himiko!" she shouted in order to be heard over the beating rain.
Immediately after they crossed the street, Himiko pulled him into a certain shop, banging the door behind them.
She was laughing, her body soaked so thoroughly that Kyle could see the outline of her bra underneath it.
He looked away and tried to stop himself from frowning, because even though he was apparently stuck in a room with a beautiful girl, he had another thing on his mind…
'My car…'
'It looks like I'll be taking the bus home.' He mused and turned to Himiko.
Himiko smiled innocently, as though she had not just drenched him in water.
"Sorry… my boss said it's either I get more customers or I'll be fired."
"Boss?"
It was then that Kyle gave the room a proper look. It was a decently sized space with rows of shelves at every corner.
Arranged on those shelves were hundreds of comic books from shounen to seinen, down to even the more spicy variants.
'So she works here?'
The anime often only showed the major parts of the story but failed to add little details like this.
Apart from the trust fund kid, Shigaraki, it made sense that even some villains had jobs.
Himiko had been kicked out by her family a long time ago, and she was not the type of villain that stole to survive, so it made sense in a way.
"So you need more customers?"
She smiled and nodded, her eyes glistening like a fisherman who had caught a tuna.
Kyle's eyes narrowed. 'So she's looking for rich people to kidnap…'
Himiko kept staring at him, her eyes holding a silent plea.
"Fine, fine, I'll buy a few."
"Yes!" She jumped, doing a fist bump with the air. "Just give me a second, I feel icky in these clothes."
"Wait, what are you—"
Before Kyle could stop her, Himiko grabbed her wet shirt and pulled it off, leaving her clad in her camisole.
Her skin was glistening wet underneath the bright lighting, and her wet clothes stuck to her body, highlighting every single curve, the water flowing down like—
"Uhum…" Kyle turned frantically and started walking towards the nearest shelf. He grabbed a book without looking and flipped the pages open.
"Y-yeah, I'm looking for this exact novel, it's so peak that—the f*ck."
It was hentai.
It was at that unfaithful moment that Himiko peeked over his shoulder, her chin resting on him.
"Ohh? So you're into that kind of stuff."
Kyle's face hardened but inside him, his mind was in turmoil. "Let's not jump to any conclusions."
"Come on, there's nothing wrong with wanting a little spice every now and then—"
Kyle placed the book on the shelf and turned to leave.
"Wait, wait, alright, I won't talk about it again…" She said, hurrying to grab him by the arm. "You can even read it and I'll pretend not to look!"
Kyle watched as she closed her eyes, only to open one a few seconds later. When she saw that he was staring at her, she immediately shut it.
He sighed tiredly and then unexpectedly, a small laugh left his lips, Himiko joining in with her light giggles.
They both stood still in the warmth of the room, next to each other as they laughed their hearts away.
"Has anyone told you how weird you are, Himiko?"
Himiko shrugged as she pulled him towards another shelf. "Special" is the right word."
When they got to the shelf, she pulled her hair back, tying it in a high ponytail and began to quickly shuffle through the books.
"What type of manga do you like, boss?"
Kyle smiled. "Boss?"
'Calling him boss will make him want to buy more to live up to the title,' Himiko mused.
"You're the customer, aren't you?"
'She's just trying to make me buy more comics, isn't she?' Kyle thought as he watched her.
"Action novels with a good romantic subplot, fantasy novels with dual worlds, martial cultivation and romance manhwa."
Himiko's smile brightened as she quickly picked out a few books and handed them to him.
— Shadow Slayer
— Nano Mechatronics
— The Greatest Land Developer
Kyle grabbed the comics and flicked through them.
'Why do these seem so… familiar?'
They weren't traditional manga but colored manhwa, yet their illustrations were pretty good.
"I'll take them all."
Himiko beamed and was about to hurry over to her desk when Kyle grabbed her by the arm.
"Where are you going?"
She frowned playfully. "I was going to wrap them up."
Kyle slowly shook his head. "I'm not buying these three."
Himiko's face fell, her mouth slightly open in shock. "But didn't you say you wanted them—"
"I want the whole shelf."
