Theodore's POV

I carried Seraphine back to our home, watching as she devoured everything Aleena had prepared. I had already sent word through the mind link to have all her favorite dishes ready. She was exhausted and had lost too much blood during the fight.

The memory of our first meeting still haunted me. She had been so thin, so starved that my gut twisted just looking at her frail form. Even back then, something in me couldn't stand seeing her suffer. I was the one who secretly sent food to her room that first night. Federico, my wolf, had been restless until she finished every bite.

We had stood guard outside her door, refusing to leave until she had eaten. But then she had vomited it all back up, her body too weak to keep anything down.

Seeing her so fragile, knowing I couldn't mark someone in such a weakened state, I had delayed our wedding. It was the right choice, even if it frustrated every instinct I had.
