Amy's laughter cut through the air like broken glass. "Getting cold feet already, Luna?" she taunted, watching me take a step backward. "Don't stress yourself. We both know Becky won't even break a sweat. Everyone here knows exactly how pathetic you are."
Her pack of followers erupted in cruel giggles, their eyes gleaming with anticipation.
The warriors assigned to protect me moved closer, their muscles coiled tight and ready to strike. But I raised my hand to stop them. This battle belonged to me alone. "I accept your challenge," I declared, lifting my chin with defiance I didn't know I possessed.
