Dalia's POV
The wedding day arrived like something out of a fairy tale I never dared to dream. My heart hammered against my ribs as reality crashed over me in waves. This was actually happening. Orion had waited for this moment with unwavering determination, and now here we were, about to become one in every way that mattered.
When he first proposed, I said yes because fighting him had become impossible. He'd shielded me and my family from dangers I couldn't even comprehend. Still, after accepting his proposal, I'd harbored hopes of returning to college, of finishing what I'd started. But mom and dad shut down that dream immediately. They insisted I couldn't venture back into human territory until every last cultist was locked away. Orion's parents echoed their concerns with equal fervor.
