The urge to touch Seraphine consumed me completely. This was the moment Federico and I had been anticipating for so long.
My wolf howled inside my consciousness, demanding I mark our mate immediately. I wrestled against his savage instincts as he raged within the depths of my mind.
'Claim her now,' he snarled with primal fury. 'She belongs to us.'
Not yet. Are you trying to poison her with our venom? I snapped back at him, forcing him to remember how delicate our mate was. She was merely an omega, and my marking bite would flood her system with lethal toxins. The odds of her surviving were slim.
'You're wrong,' he growled back fiercely. 'She's our destined mate. Her body can handle it.'
