Lucian hurriedly got down from his car, hurrying his way into the school. He'd been called concerning Lucia and he was sure something was wrong from the tone of the caller.
He was met with a staff that led him to the person he was looking for. And pushing the door open, he stepped inside only to pause. Sitting on one of the two chairs at the principal's desk was Lucia.
He met the woman's eyes.
"Welcome, Mr. Bastiani." The woman rose to her feet, reaching out for a handshake as Lucian approached.
"Thank you." Lucian sat on the chair next to Lucia. He stared at her, but she wouldn't look at him. What in the world was going on? "Is everything alright?"
The woman steepled her fingers, a worried expression emerging on her face. "I am worried about your daughter, sir."
"Why? May I ask what's going on?"
She explained, "I'm not sure if something is going on at home, but she's reacting to it."
"What do you mean?"
