Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

What year is it?

Sumi Konohara looked at me as if I were suddenly asking her a question that simply didn't even make sense to ask in the first place.

She chuckled, walking forward, totally ignoring my question.

I reached out, trying to get her attention again, but the moment my hand grazed hers, a sharp sudden jolt of energy surged throughout my body.

I screamed in pain as I recoiled backwards, blowing on my hand as I tried to make sense of what just happened.

"People don't shoot energy out of their bodies, right?" I thought as my gaze turned to Sumi.

She looked over her shoulder once more, "You shouldn't have done that. Now look at you, your hand's burnt."

I then looked at my hand—or at least, whatever the hell that red and brown mixture of melting meat was were my hand was supposed to be—and screamed louder than my voice could keep up.

"MY HAND! OH GOD! MY HAND!! MY HAND—!"

Just then, as I rolled on the dirt in excruciating pain, a sudden zip of air hurtled to the ground.

The sound was so loud, part of my eardrums ruptured, causing a sudden discord to the loud tremors.

All I could hear now was a thin high frequency ring.

So not only did I just lose my hand, but now my hearing as well.

Disoriented and dazed, I began losing consciousness again, but not before I saw what appeared to be a group of people surrounding me with Sumi mouthing something along the lines of : "Bust alm down???"

Anyways, I lost consciousness.

And when I woke up, I had more questions than I did answers...
