Chapter 55 - Chapter 52: How Dare a Mudblood Insult Pure Blood?

Hearing Lucius's words, Arthur sneered. "Hah! Lucius, spare me that routine. Those Galleons were a gift to Ginny from Harry."

"Besides, if we're talking about money, who has more than you? To be able to buy a position as a Hogwarts Governor, you must have sold quite a few Dark artifacts, haven't you?"

"Watch your mouth, Arthur. The Ministry has never found any Dark artifacts in my home."

"So? Should I praise you for being good at hiding them?"

Seeing the two about to fight, Harry interrupted with a roar. "You there, Lucius! We are not talking about Dark artifacts today! We are talking about my sworn sister's books!"

"One is one, and three is three! If my sworn sister truly did such a lowly thing, this one would not let her off lightly."

"But if you two have slandered her good name, do you dare kowtow nine times in apology?"

The Malfoy line was one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. Such a noble house, with illustrious ancestors, valued its reputation more than life.

This business of stealing a book was a baseless, filthy accusation. How could Draco admit to it and dishonor his family name?

Draco hesitated, but Lucius said calmly, "Then how will you prove that Miss Weasley didn't steal the book?"

"Yi? Since it was you scoundrels who made the accusation, why is it on this one to prove it?"

Harry laughed, then his voice turned cold. "Your Malfoy family has vast wealth, and my Potter vault is also piled high with gold and jade. If you cannot produce the stolen goods today, this one will teach you the meaning of 'slandering an innocent'!"

"Even if I have to appeal to the British Ministry! Or visit the Magical Congress of the USA! This one does not fear you in the slightest!"

Harry's words rang out, and the surrounding wizards cheered. Lockhart was also stunned.

The Potter family is that rich?

He doesn't even care about the Malfoys, one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight?

Lucius, seeing him willing to bet the Potter vault, hesitated.

The reason was this: the Malfoy family had been one of the agents for the Potter family's hair-growth potion. Ever since James and his wife had died, the Malfoys had not paid their dues for over a decade, pocketing all the profits.

He was terrified that Harry would realize this, dredge up the old accounts, and he would be forced to swallow this humiliation.

"I have no time to play childish games with you, Mr. Potter."

He reached into Ginny's cauldron to take the three books. But as soon as he grabbed them, he saw Harry's eyes fixed on him. He put them back.

"Tsk! Keep your books, little girl."

He tried to turn, but Harry blocked him, drawing his saber. "Since you scoundrel are unwilling to make the bet, why have you not apologized to my sworn sister?"

Ron nodded angrily. "That's right! Apologize to my sister!"

Hermione also shouted, "Mr. Malfoy, you should tell Ginny you're sorry!"

Being ordered around by these yellow-mouthed children, Lucius felt humiliated. "And you are worthy?"

Harry roared, "Hmph! If you are unwilling, this one won't force you. Just leave your head behind as an apology!"

Lucius, burning with rage, drew his wand. "Mr. Potter! I will not go easy on you just because you are an underage wizard!"

Arthur drew his wand instantly. "Don't forget I'm still here, Lucius!"

As tensions flared, Draco chimed in, "Father, knock them all down!"

Seeing this scoundrel posturing again, Harry roared, "Damned hells! What avian nonsense are you chirping!"

Ron, already furious, yelled, "Don't let me see you at school, Draco, or I'll beat you every time I see you!"

Hermione, who had grown as close as a real sister to Ginny over the past month, was also angry. "That's right, me too! Just wait!"

Draco was about to retort, but then he saw the two of them roll up their sleeves, revealing four arms full of hard muscle. He was dumbstruck.

What happened to these two?

How did they get so big?!

Seeing the fear on Draco's face, Lucius seethed. "You can't even beat a Mud—a Muggle-born wizard?"

If he fought Harry, the Savior, or Ron, a pure-blood, it would be no great shame to lose.

But to be defeated by a Mudblood... the Malfoy family's century-old reputation would be chopped up and fed to the dogs.

Draco stammered, unable to speak. Lucius took a breath. "Apologize."

"Father—what did you say?"

"I said, apologize. Since you misunderstood Miss Ginny, then apologize to her."

Lucius leaned in and hissed, "If you think you can take all three of them at Hogwarts, you can choose not to apologize."

Lucius looked at him with a trace of hope, but Draco's expression twisted. He kept glancing at Harry and the others.

They're huge. I can't beat them... No, I have to start training, too!

He ground his teeth. "Sorry. I was mistaken."

Lucius's face twitched. "Let's go!"

"Hmph! You scoundrel, you're less sensible than the boy!" Harry blocked their path and cupped his ear. "Two of you are leaving, but this one only heard one apology?"

"Oh? Then must I kowtow nine times?" Lucius sneered. "Just as you said!"

Arthur, satisfied at seeing Lucius humiliated, interceded. "Harry, let him go. This fellow is nasty when he's cornered."

Harry nodded. "Since the Director says so, this one will, of course, comply."

After Lucius and his son had vanished, Lockhart dispersed the crowd, and Ginny, holding back tears, went to thank Harry.

"Harry, th-thank you..."

Harry smiled. "Sister, say no more. If you encounter this again, remember: never try to prove your own innocence."

"These people only want to take your life, ruin your name, or steal your wealth. How can they be reasoned with?"

Ginny nodded, taking Harry's words to heart.

"Wait!" Ron frowned. "If that's true, were the Malfoys plotting something?"

"If not, why would those two find trouble for no reason?" Harry sighed. "Unfortunately, this one watched them for a long time, but I could not see what their plot was."

As the flower blooms on two branches, we tell each story in turn.

After leaving the bookstore, Lucius and Draco headed toward Knockturn Alley. When no one was around, Lucius took out a black diary and handed it to Draco.

"Give this to one of the Weasleys. It's up to you to handle it at school now."

Draco, still bitter, took the diary and flipped through it. "Tom Riddle? Who's that?"

"Put it away! Don't open it!"

Lucius roared, scaring Draco half to death.

Draco composed himself. "I know. I'll slip it to one of those red-haired Weasley idiots."

"Just do your best," Lucius said coldly. "If you can't, throw it away in an empty corner."

Draco, seeing the contempt in his father's eyes, flared. "I can do it!"

"That would be best. I just don't want you to overreach. And... never open it."

Draco stroked the diary's cover, his mind full of suspicion.

Why can't this notebook be opened?
