Chapter 41 - The start of something New

I nodded in response and shifted inside the tub, ensuring I still held her hand. "Keilan started the fire," I said and chuckled. He had just been introduced to me as my brother then, and I wanted to get closer to him, but he locked me inside a room and set the place on fire," I heaved a deep sigh. 

"His mother, a kind woman, jumped into the fire to save my life, and when I was outside, I went out to call for help, but before she could be rescued, it was already too late, and that kind woman died inside the fire. I know Keilan probably resented me after everything that happened, but then," I chuckled, "I don't know if he did. He's a hard person to read, but you can't be too sure of others. I want you to be careful."

After hearing my story, Charlene sighed. She rubbed my hands gently, but it affected me again; this time, it sent tingles all through my body.
