Draven
I slowly opened my eyes, smiling before I even realized it. Charlene was lying beside me, peaceful and quiet. For a moment, it didn't feel real. The soft morning light came through the curtains and rested gently on her face.
As if she felt my stare, Charlene began to wake up. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she shifted slightly. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around her from behind and pulled her closer. She let out a soft, sleepy laugh.
"Someone's affectionate this morning," she teased. "Draven, what's going on?"
I nuzzled into her neck, grinning. "Can you blame me? Waking up next to you feels unreal."
She turned to face me, smiling warmly. "It's real," she said, brushing her fingers along my arm.
