I woke up with a violent cough, the taste of saltwater stinging my throat. My body felt heavy and disoriented, and as I struggled to sit up, the realization hit me like a tidal wave. I was lying naked on the sandy shore, and my human form had returned after shifting from Ruka, my wolf.
I attempted to contact her, but my efforts were in vain. It was as if the earlier battle with Keilan had taken a toll on her, forcing her into a state of rest.
Panic gripped me as my heart raced and my chest tightened. "Draven?" I called out, desperation lacing my strained voice. However, only the haunting sound of waves crashing against the shore answered me.
Frantically, I scanned the area, my gaze darting left and right in the hopes of finding him. Yet, there was nothing—no sign of Draven, no trace of his presence.
My pulse quickened, fear escalating with each passing second. "Draven!" I shouted again.
