After William returned to the watchtower, he'd give out some orders to his workers on the ground floor, he made sure to disguise his lack of an arm with long sleeves, ingenuity shaping, and some gloves.
"Alright, people I want you all to elect 2 representatives to serve as your bosses for the future. This way, I don't have to talk to you all in a group in the future."
They'd nod and begin discussing their choices, while William simply walked around the place.
He saw Li Jiaojie in a corner, in a daze. He chose to approach him and ask what was going on.
"Hey, Li Jiaojie, what's going on-
A small, token-looking thing would be thrown at him. As soon as William touched it, he felt its warmth; it was really hot!
"How were you holding this so casually?"
Li Jiaojie would stare at William seriously.
"You said for us to progress, we have to kill others, right?"
William nodded calmly.
Li Jiaojie would clench his fists audibly.
"Then I want them dead, whoever they are." He'd gesture to the thing in William's hand. It was only then that William realized what it was; it was extremely reminiscent of the badges that Fei Kangzhen had shown him over a video call, except more fiery.
'He seems rather motivated. I can capitalize on this.'
"I'll consult Fei Kangzhen before we move forward. If we do form an attack on them, moving in teams of 3 will be much safer. I'll also ask around to see what I can find on them."
He'd then try to find Fei Kangzhen, who was lying on a wall on the second floor, his hands repeating the motion of swiping through social media without a phone in them.
"Fei Kangzhen, good to see you. You seem to be in a much calmer state after visiting your parents. Have you ever had a phone?"
Fei Kangzhen would slowly turn his head in William's direction.
"H-hey boss, I am feeling a bit better. I was reminded of why I dislike going back there, so most of my worries are quenched. I discarded my phone a while back."
William would put on a nice smile.
"Good to hear! Li Jiaojie found some badges while he was out and seems rather bloodthirsty currently, I think they look similar to the ones you showed me before, you got them on you?"
Fei Kangzhen's eyes would widen slightly momentarily, before reaching into his coat's pocket and giving William 3 earthy tokens with the signature circle surrounded by twelve pillars design.
"I'm not sure what organization they belong to, however they seem to hold animosity to all."
'Yeah, kidnapping an elementary school is pretty inhumane. Well, so is our entire world as is...Oh yeah, Li Jiaojie's sister, given his current condition, I take his healing didn't manage to save her...'
"I see, well are you alright with us attacking them then?"
Fei Kangzhen would nod casually.
"As long as we prepare sufficiently and launch a surprise attack."
William thanked him before heading to the top floor of the watchtower. After ensuring noone was watching him he would check the Ludus Company's forum tab in the Library.
On the screen, was several different buttons all labled with specific instructions, one that led to Organization Information, other to general knowledge of verifiers.
'Kaelus never bothered to teach me most of this stuff...I'll have to check it out later!'
He would then sort through the organization section.
[Kingdom of Magic]
[In the place where the United Kingdom once resided, a new kingdom emerged. One that studies the art of magic. Inside this kingdom is a grand castle that serves as their school of witchcraft and wizardry. The verifiers of this kingdom are all magic specialists, leading to most of them abiding by an intelligence heavy doctrine. This Nation houses one of the largest assortments of books in the world in its colossal library. Their most sacred area.]
'I understood that reference. Pretty cool place by the looks of it.'
[Sakurajima]
[The second largest fragment of what was Japan. These verifiers study modern Japanese media, such as anime, light novels, and video games. The verifiers who reside in this nation also live in the surrounding seas, forming pirate unions to search for treasures and protect their homeland. Several factions exist within Sakurajima, all with different focuses on aspects of Japanese Media, however all of them come together to form Sakurajima.]
'Hell yeah.'
[Verification Bureau]
[After the Third World War, the leaders of the strongest organizations around the world were invited to a meeting, the foundation of a council of sorts. This alliance would become known as the Verification Guild. The council came up with a couple of rules for the world to preserve as many people as possible. First, the banning of hazardous books. Supernatural powers themselves will be impossible to prevent due to human greed. However, they can at least make sure they do not choose novels that near guarantee death.
So they came up with a basic set of rules:
All Eldritch novels, such as the works of H.P. Lovecraft, will be banned and sealed away.
Most apocalyptic novels will require approval from higher-ups to enter.
Religious texts will require clearance from higher-ups to enter.
Books whose world is near uninhabitable or extremely dangerous for human beings to enter will all be heavily guarded.
Burning books will now be issued as an international crime, one that is punishable by death or lifetime imprisonment.]
'Lore drop!'
[The Ninth Law]
[They are a worldwide organization that was originally founded near the end of the 3rd world war, They restricted books heavily and therefore controlled the flow of Verifiers. However, they have long since been discontinued by the government, making way for the Verification Bureau of modern day... However, a few select members have secretly been building back a force of the more radical members, and those who share their beliefs, because of this the current members of this organization are elite verifiers who are stubbornly determined to achieve their goals. They are also very few and far between because of this, having only a couple of groups stationed at every major nation, though given their status and power, it is more than enough. Each squadron of the Ninth Law operates under a strict hierarchical system, with a Scholar typically serving as the captain and a couple of elite Readers under them. They believe peace and prosperity can only be achieved with order, and that certain books and ideas should be restricted, and are openly hostile to Verifiers who go against their goals and ideals. They are primarily enemies against organizations that worship the restricted novels of the world, and will stop at nothing to tear them all to the ground.
Their motto is "The Ninth will prevail!"
The strongest members of this organization are named the 9 Justiciars, each representing a certain aspect of law. All High-Level Scholars at the very least.]
'Blah blah blah...'
[Laws of Order]
[An underground organization in several parts of what used to be China as well as sections of Asia. They operate in the shadows, doing gruesome acts such as kidnapping innocents to turn into indoctrinated super soldiers and murdering civillians to establish order. However, they have been known to be benevolent as well, saving entire nations at times for unknown reasons.
Their motto is: "For the Order!"
The people who join this organization are ruthless and determined; they are known as Usurpers. The upper echelon of this organization all have code names and retain anonymity; they are ridiculously dangerous and have spies lurking all across Asia, waiting for an adequate time to strike and achieve their goals.
The Highest Level of Status for members of this organization is a group called the Pillars of Order. Each Pillar is a designated force of nature by themselves. There are 12 Pillars in total.]
'Aha. There we go, we've found our enemy. Twelve pillars...'
William then saw at the bottom of the page.
[For any future questions, pplease contact customer service at this number.]
[xxxxxxxxxxxx]
He'd pull up the number using the private message feature of the Library, making sure to add his code name to clarify his situation.
-Hey, is it alright if I attack the Laws of Order? I am h2.
A few seconds later, a reply would appear.
-Due to your unique situation, you have been given clearance and authority to proceed with the attack. We will prevent them from tracing you.
'Perfect! Now to get back to the workers on the ground floor and tell Li Jiaojie.'
William calmly strolled down to the bottom floor, where he saw the group of workers patiently waiting for his arrival. He'd walk up and ask
"Alright, who are the representatives?"
A young man and woman would step up. The man had messy brown hair and a rather strong build while the woman had clean blonde hair and dark brown eyes.
They would introduce themselves as Sang Pianyi and Sasha Necroma. The latter being a verifier from the United Republic of America who unluckily visited New Shanghai just as the Fame Game began, and was trapped. While the former was a regular salaryman who worked in the city centre of New Shanghai.
"Alright you two each take turns making teams with you two as their leaders, each team will alternate between exploring the nearby area and detaining any troublemakers, and advertising our little group here so we can gain more manpower. If you wouldn't like to risk your life you can opt to just do the advertising part as well, though the payment will be lesser. Speaking of, any criminals you capture, after I have dealt with them you will be reimbursed most of the loreld they own, I only need a small cut of the deal."
After sorting some conditions out with the worker teams, William would send a message to Li Jiaojie and Fei Kangzhen, asking them to meet him in the top floor of the watchtower to discuss plans moving forward.
