Chapter 10 - The Marriage That Solved Itself

(A Continuation from Case II)

---

Location: CID Bureau Garden – Evening

Date: One Week After the Case Closure

Under the soft golden hue of string lights and blooming marigolds, the normally austere CID garden looked transformed. Instead of interrogation tables, there were white-clothed benches. Instead of case files, flower garlands.

The wedding of Senior Inspector Nelakhant Swami and Sub-Inspector Purvi was small, elegant, and filled with something the CID rarely had time for: peace.

ACP Pradyuman stood proudly, dressed in a cream-colored sherwani. Daya and Abhijeet were both in dark bandhgalas, looking suspiciously well-groomed. Freddy, holding a plate of sweets, looked like he was fighting back tears and hunger at the same time.

The priest's chants echoed softly as Swami, dressed in a simple white mundu and shirt with a black bordered angavastram (Kerala-style wedding attire), stood beside Purvi, who wore a graceful kasavu saree with golden zari, her long hair braided and adorned with jasmine flowers.

Rituals Begin

Purvi looked serene, but her eyes sparkled. Swami, though calm as always, was not reading microexpressions or analyzing syllables for the first time in his life. He was just present.

Priest: "And now the groom may tie the thaali…"

Swami stepped forward, hands steady, and gently tied the traditional golden chain around her neck.

A soft cheer rose from the team. Even Daya clapped a little too hard.

---

After the Ceremony – Reception Moment

Abhijeet handed over a gift box.

Abhijeet: "No crime kit. Just cookware. You'll need it—CID cases don't come with catering."

Daya: "If your kids turn out half as sharp as you, Mumbai will be crime-free in ten years."

Freddy (grinning): "Or crime will run away from CID."

ACP Pradyuman walked up last, a rare softness in his eyes.

ACP Pradyuman: "Swami, Purvi... CID has always been about truth, justice, and duty. But today, I see something we don't witness often—balance. You've both earned not just each other... but peace."

Swami bowed his head slightly.

Swami: "Thank you, Sir. This is one case I don't plan to solve. Just... live."

---

Quiet Moment – Later That Night

Under the moonlit garden, after the guests had gone, Purvi and Swami sat alone. The scent of jasmine lingered in the air.

Purvi: "Still processing it?"

Swami (quietly): "I thought life was logic. Then you became my exception."

She leaned on his shoulder.

Purvi: "Then let's make our marriage... the perfect contradiction."

---

Final Scene – CID Bureau – Next Morning

Swami walked into the CID bureau the next day, wearing a fresh white shirt, black pants, and a gold wedding ring.

Abhijeet raised an eyebrow. "Back to work already?"

Swami smirked. "Justice doesn't take a honeymoon."

Purvi walked in behind him. "But it did take a vow."

The team clapped.

A new file lay on the desk. A new case. A new chapter.

But now, Swami didn't face it alone.
