Just as the final enemy's dying regret suggested, this battle's outcome was essentially predetermined the moment Shin Hagūgen successfully ambushed the enemy captain.

The remaining combat was merely garbage time.

It wasn't that Shin Hagūgen harbored excessive confidence or arrogance about his abilities—what he possessed was simply self-awareness.

By fully utilizing White Zetsu's capabilities, striking the unprepared with calculated intent, the odds of assassinating the enemy's strongest combatant were inherently high.

Or rather, as long as he didn't act foolishly and the enemy failed to detect White Zetsu's abilities, his assassination would be difficult to fail.

Despite many people's preference for flashy ninjutsu in combat, shinobi fundamentally pursue silent, invisible assassination.

The Mayfly Technique ranks among the absolute pinnacle abilities in this domain.

Judging purely by results, Shin Hagūgen achieved his objective, successfully eliminating five enemies.

However, process-wise, this battle was rather crude—he was forced into direct confrontation and even sustained injuries.

The ideal outcome would have been silently assassinating all five consecutively. Unfortunately, he hadn't achieved that.

Perhaps it was mere perception, but reflecting on his experiences since transmigration, Shin Hagūgen felt that while battles between shinobi in this era were more brutal, the average quality of contemporary ninja seemed inferior to the later village era—excluding certain exceptionally overpowered individuals.

Whether in comprehensive nin-tai-gen application, ninja squad organization, or killing efficiency, none matched the village era.

Upon reflection, this made perfect sense. Everything develops, and Shin Hagūgen believed in "the future surpassing the present."

Organizational systems, ninjutsu frameworks, educational structures, warfare forms—all continuously advance with time.

His thoughts had wandered too far. Shin Hagūgen quickly refocused. In summary, despite an imperfect process, the results were acceptable—even satisfactory.

After all, he'd only just become the "White Zetsu-Man." Without even understanding his physical transformation's cause, lacking proficiency in corresponding abilities, he'd hastily entered battle. Such performance was already commendable.

Concluding this engagement, Shin Hagūgen had no time for battlefield cleanup or situation assessment. He rushed toward another battlefield at maximum speed.

Despite the recent battle, Shin Hagūgen's chakra remained excellently preserved.

The previous fight involved minimal ninjutsu exchanges—his remaining chakra sufficiently supported the next engagement.

To maximize survival chances for his two clansmen serving as decoys, Shin Hagūgen directly employed the Mayfly Technique for rapid movement, minimizing travel time.

He'd already planned the next battle's approach—continuing assassination tactics. Pursuing efficiency meant complete commitment.

During his earlier captain assassination, despite extremely brief contact, he'd successfully stolen the opponent's chakra sample in that fleeting instant.

This chakra quantity couldn't support prolonged combat, but he could use it for the Transformation Technique, disguising himself as the enemy captain with extraordinary precision—virtually impossible to disprove.

White Zetsu's transformation technique was a max-level divine skill. No other shinobi in the ninja world possessed superior disguise abilities.

With the target's chakra sample, avoiding personality, behavioral, demeanor, or stylistic flaws, White Zetsu's transformation was nearly undetectable.

Shin Hagūgen only needed to impersonate the battlefield enemy captain—requiring neither extended disguise nor complex scenario navigation, minimizing exposure risk.

On the other battlefield, Kansen followed Shin Hagūgen's instructions—fleeing without engaging, thus consuming considerable time.

When Shin Hagūgen approached, he didn't immediately enter combat but concealed himself atop a large tree, observing the engagement.

Five enemy shinobi were executing a killing encirclement against Kansen, who cleverly dodged left and right while releasing Fire Release ninjutsu to create obstacles, significantly disrupting and obscuring the battlefield.

"Cat and mouse again?" Shin Hagūgen thought silently.

He transformed into the captain's appearance, continuing to use the Mayfly Technique to approach the encirclement's most distant enemy ninja.

Precisely when Kansen released another Fire Release, creating massive noise, Shin Hagūgen suddenly materialized behind this ninja—throat-slitting backstab executed in one fluid motion.

Afterward, he gently placed the still-warm but thoroughly "cooled" enemy on the ground without creating excess sound.

Learning from experience, Shin Hagūgen's methods had matured. This time, enemies temporarily failed to notice their missing comrade.

Focused on killing Kansen, they paid no attention to surrounding developments.

Luck again favored Shin Hagūgen—the enemy's sensory ninja wasn't among these five but accompanied the third squad.

The remaining four's proximity made silent elimination risky. After consideration, Shin Hagūgen chose a more reliable approach—directly appearing as "the captain."

During his approach, he deliberately created noise, successfully drawing their immediate attention.

"It's the captain."

"Captain, you finished over there?"

Recognizing Shin Hagūgen's appearance, the ninjas' raised vigilance relaxed.

Shin Hagūgen nodded with a stern expression—maintaining stoicism was superior to inappropriate facial expressions. He said:

"That side's resolved. I came to support you at maximum speed. Others temporarily fell behind... What's the situation here?"

"Slightly troublesome. The target only flees, continuously wasting chakra without engaging us, so we've consumed some time. But no problem—we're about to corner him."

The squad leader, fearing the captain's displeasure, hastily explained.

The "captain" indeed frowned, severely dissatisfied with such sluggish behavior: "Stop encircling. Follow me."

He charged toward the "enemy" first, forcing the four ninja to follow behind.

They rapidly closed distance with Kansen, but just as these men prepared attacking, the "captain" suddenly halted.

He lacked time—otherwise they'd soon discover their missing member.

Without warning, he turned toward a specific direction, immediately displaying surprise:

"Clan Leader?"

"Why are you here...?"

These four ninja, like devoted fans admiring their brother's performance, completely trusted Shin Hagūgen's acting, simultaneously turning toward his indicated direction.

During Shin Hagūgen's speech, cold light flashed repeatedly—blades easily severed three ninjas' throats before they could react.

Only the final ninja, most distant from Shin Hagūgen and lagging during movement, escaped the ambush.

This sole survivor's small eyes filled with massive confusion. He couldn't understand why the captain suddenly attacked comrades.

Wait—were the companions he'd just fought alongside actually disguised enemies? Was he also an impostor?

"Two against one. Now it's our turn to hunt you."

Under the opponent's shocked gaze, Shin Hagūgen resumed his original appearance, his emanated chakra signature transforming accordingly.
