And when the fragile biochemical balance is disrupted, the former unity disappears. Self-destruction begins, inflammation sets in, cancer develops...
It eerily resembles how we live. Cogs in the state machine, creating societal cells within giant anthills. We form target audiences. Join interest groups. Blend into the masses and absorb mass media ourselves. We consume and serve as food for someone else's consumption. We attack and defend ourselves. Perhaps we ourselves are cells of some organism. We simply haven't realized it yet... And who am I in this food chain? A consumer of the highest order.
