Liam walked to the door and opened it.
Kelvin stood there, grinning, holding a six-pack of beer.
The bottles were green, wet with condensation. He wore a black hoodie and jeans, his hair a mess.
"Hey, best friend," Kelvin said, shaking the six-pack.
Liam stared at him.
Then he closed the door.
"Yo!" Kelvin's voice came through the wood. "What the fuck, man?!"
Liam opened it again. "Why are you here?"
Kelvin blinked. "Uh, because I wanted to see my friend? Is that illegal now?"
"Yeah, when it's ten in the morning."
"So?" Kelvin held up the beer. "It's never too early to hang out."
Liam raised an eyebrow. "You brought beer at ten AM."
"Damn right I did." Kelvin grinned. "Look, I came by yesterday but you weren't here. So I came back today. Sooo, Where'd you go?"
Liam sighed. "So what if I wasn't here today either?"
Kelvin shrugged. "Then I'd find you. Or call you. Or break in. Whatever works."
Liam stared at him, then stepped aside. "Come in."
