Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A New Beginning & Unexpected Truth..

The morning after David left was quiet. Hannah woke up as usual, the small hut filled with soft sunlight. Her heart still ached from his departure, but she knew she had to keep moving. Life did not pause for sorrow.

She carried out her chores carefully—sweeping the yard, fetching water, tending her small garden. Each task felt heavier without David's presence, yet she forced herself to focus.

When she opened the envelope David had given her, she saw five hundred thousands. She held it in her hands, feeling the weight of his love, care, and trust. But Hannah was wise; she would not waste it. She thought carefully about her future.

This money is not just for today, she whispered to herself. It is a chance to improve my life, to make something better.

She divided the money in her mind: some would be used to buy better tools for her small garden, some to improve her hut, and some would be saved for emergencies or opportunities that might come in the future. Every decision was made with thought and responsibility.

Even when a group of girls from the village noticed her and whispered among themselves, giggling, Hannah paid them no attention. She focused on building her life with dignity and purpose. Her actions spoke louder than words; she would let her intelligence, careful planning, and hard work show the world her worth.

Throughout the day, she worked steadily, thinking of David and the lessons he had left her. The ache in her heart remained, but it was tempered by determination. She knew she could honor his trust by becoming strong, wise, and independent.

By evening, her small garden looked healthier, her home a little tidier, and her mind clearer. Hannah realized that even though David was gone for now, she could create a life filled with purpose, stability, and hope—using the gift he had given her not just as money, but as a key to a better future.

The life at the village continued , almost one month since David's departure. One morning, Hannah woke early that morning feeling strange. Her stomach churned, and she quickly ran outside to vomit . What is happening to me? she thought, her hands trembling. The feelings were new, confusing, and a little frightening.

She tried to ignore it at first, thinking it might be just a bad stomach or something she had eaten. But the uneasiness did not go away. Every moment, she felt different—tired, queasy, and strangely emotional.

After a while, she decided she needed help. She walked carefully to the nearby dispensary, her heart beating fast. The village was still quiet in the morning, and the cool air did little to calm her anxious thoughts.

At the dispensary, the doctor greeted her kindly and asked about her symptoms. Hannah explained everything—how she felt, the nausea, and the strange changes in her body. The doctor nodded and suggested some tests.

When the results came back, Hannah's world seemed to stop for a moment. Shewas pregnant. The news filled her with shock, fear, and a strange, bittersweet joy. She held the small test results in her hands, staring at them as if trying to understand what had just happened.

Hannah walked slowly back to her hut, her mind swirling with thoughts. David… he doesn't know. How will I tell him? Will he even come back? She clutched the envelope with the remaining money she had , but it did little to ease the storm inside her.

Back in her tiny hut, Hannah sat down, holding her head in her hands. The reality of her situation weighed heavily on her heart. She was alone, carrying a life that was partly David's, and the uncertainty of the future pressed down on her like a stone.

Yet even in her fear and confusion, a small part of her felt a spark of hope. She thought about the child growing inside her, about the love she had shared with David, and she knew she had to find strength. She had survived hardships before, and now she would face this new challenge with the same courage—no matter how difficult the days ahead would be.

Hannah sat quietly, holding the small envelope David had given her. For a moment, the money seemed heavy in her hands—not just in weight, but in meaning. This was no longer just cash; it was a tool, a lifeline, a way to build a future for herself and her child.

She took a deep breath and began planning carefully. I need to think smart. I cannot waste this… I must use it wisely for the life growing inside me.

First, she decided to buy better food—healthy meals to support her growing baby. Next, she planned to improve her tiny hut, making it safer and more comfortable for herself and the child she would one day raise. A small portion she would save for emergencies, for times when she would need help or medical care.

Every decision was made with careful thought. Hannah realized that this money, this gift from David, was not just financial support—it was a responsibility and a chance to show her strength.

The village girls who had once teased her seemed irrelevant now. Hannah walked through her small yard, tending her plants, feeling the soft soil under her fingers. She was no longer just a girl in the village—she was a mother in waiting, a woman who had to rise above fear and uncertainty.

She whispered softly to herself, "I can do this. I will not waste this gift. I will build a life for my child and myself… even if David is far away."

Hours passed, and Hannah moved steadily through her day. Cooking, cleaning, tending her small garden—every task carried new purpose. The pain of longing for David was still there, a constant ache, but it was tempered by determination. She would survive. She would thrive. And one day, she hoped, David would return to see the life they had created together, even from afar.

As the sun set, Hannah sat by the small window of her hut, watching the golden light fade. She clutched the envelope once more, her heart heavy but determined. Life had changed, yes—but she had the strength to face it, to protect her child, and to plan for a future full of hope, even in David's absence.
