Three weeks had passed and it was getting close to Christmas. The coming holiday had erased what I'd done to Malfoy and me showing Sasha's skeleton. I'd been asked many questions by Dumbledore and escaped by giving him some memories of me studying cybernetics.
Currently I was working on a golem of sorts. Its base material was beskar with multiple other materials mixed in to make it an extremely powerful and expensive doll. It was a fully artificial, metal human. The body was completely androgynous as it would had a powerful runic matrix to make it look like anything the wielded wants. The doll was lots of large tech pieces, all covered in runes and marks. Once a part was done I'd use permanent shrinking to minimize it and add it to the doll. The hardest part was of course the brain. It was a frankly massive amount of work to make as I had to use lots of small permanent transfiguration to make what I needed then put it all together. Once the tech was made I'd enchant it then permanently shrink it. With the help of the room of requirement I was able to make an enchanted AI brain the size of an aircraft carrier in just a couple of weeks. Last was the shrinking of the entire brain to fit in a 1 inch spherical head.
I was shrinking the brain today then installing for testing of the doll. I knew this doll would be one of the most powerful beings in the world. It would likely even gain a magical soul. It was the ultimate protection for Rena. Its entire existence dedicated to protecting her. An ever evolving doll golem/magical creature. It took me all day and multiple breaks to check my work but I eventually shrunk the brain to the size needed.
I installed the brain and activated the doll. It sat up and looked around. "What is my purpose?" I smiled at my creation. It was an alchemical masterpiece rivaling the philosophers stone. It was the perfect creation. "Your purpose is to protect my daughter Rena Ellery from anything that could harm her." I didn't have to fear the doll messing up it's purpose, as while it was 'perfect' it was also not sentient yet. Without it's sentience I could embed a strong sense of purpose into the mind and soul that would eventually form.
The doll nodded and walked over to me across a table. I picked up the 6 inch tall creature and set it on my shoulder. I set the ROR to make a room to test the doll in and spent the next week there. I could already feel its mind forming. With my testing done I could finally take it to Rena as an early Christmas present and she could name it. I'd found in some books that named magical items or places could gain a sense of things. With that weird magical nonsense that somehow made sense in mind I waited for dinner. Dinner came fast as I continued some testing.
As I sat down at the dinner table everyone's sight settled on me and something behind me. I ignored whoever was behind me and started getting my food. In the corner of my eye I could see some of my fellow Gryffindors pull out their wands. I glance back and found Malfoy and his goons along with some older slytherins. I set my head down a bit and whispered a command. The doll climbed out of my robes and onto my shoulder. The idiots started laughing as the doll made a courageous pose, standing as tall as it could. Even without its illusions and holographic disguises activated, I could feel it glaring at them. Some of the Gryffindors let out snickers that the quickly covered up. I looked at them and showed a small smirk. Hermione, the most perceptive of this bunch, caught on to something and frowned.
I snapped my fingers and the doll leaped from my shoulder growing to a towering 7ft tall, intimidating figure. It activated its disguise and became a massive even more scary version of McGonagall who had been glaring at all of us. I could immediately smell the fear in the idiots as the doll towered over them. The massive McGonagall leaned over Malfoy, emphasizing the height difference and terrifying him even more. "Scram" It said in a near perfect copy of McGonagalls voice.
They all flinched at the same time, then bolted like a nundu was at their backs. McGonagall swiftly approached with Dumbledore and Flitwick on her tail. My doll looked over at her and commented "Here comes another beauty" while flicking some loose hair. McGonagall shot me a withering glare, likely assuming I was controlling the doll.
Dumbledore however could see past the disguise. The doll shrunk itself and made itself into an adorable chili of Sasha. It then leaped up and grabbed onto my back and climbed back to my shoulder, taking a Superman pose and forming into a chibi Morgana. I had found an old, worn, unanimated portrait of her in the ROR.
Dumbledore smiled, likely already forming questions for me. "What is the meaning of this Ellery?" McGonagall asked. "Whatever do you mean professor?" I asked while smirking at her. Before she could speak Dumbledore interrupted "So, this is the thing you nearly disappeared for a few weeks to make. Interesting, I'm assuming this little golem is incredibly powerful, yes?" I looked at the chibi Morgana who was glaring at Dumbledore. "I believe it prefers to be called a doll. And yes, it is quite powerful. I'm planning to make some more but I'm completely out of some of the materials needed to make them."
Dumbledore nodded, and responded. "I'm guessing you have an overall purpose for these dolls? I would love to know how they are made. I'd also remind you I could help in the acquiring of the resources needed." I nodded to Dumbledores slightly hidden proposal. Alchemy and enchanting overlapped in many way. The only real difference was the permanence of what you could make. While alchemists made magic items that could stand the tests of time, enchanting imbued magic into already made items. With Dumbledores assistance I could easily make incredibly powerful stuff.
After answering a few more questions I was able to give the doll to Rena. She gave it the appropriate name Morgana and it practically clung to her for dear life afterwards. The the sheer amount of rune and mark enchantment I'd put on it I didn't really know how it would do certain things. It was meant to be a perfect protector and friend. There was so much I put into making it that I couldn't really even track it all. It had been a miracle that it worked correctly.
The next morning I took Dumbledore with me to the ROR. While we were working to create more materials for more dolls he hit me with hundreds of questions. I answered everything I could. Most where either ones I didn't have an answer for or about stuff he'd never studied. I wasn't a genius or anything so most of what I did was guess work that actually worked. But despite me not being a genius and Dumbledore not being much of a scientist, we were still able to finally figure out how to make beskar and other materials I was running low on. I now had plenty of materials for doll bodies, but stuff for doll brains was still very low. The brains were the size of aircraft carriers so I would probably be perpetually low on materials for such. We ended the day at dinner time as Dumbledore hit us both with powerful cleaning charms.
Back in the common room I did my traditional dance of avoiding questions and sent Rena and myself to bed.
