Chapter 166 - 166

Is no one going to speak? Then I won't waste any more time with you. Remember, the area near Earth is now my jurisdiction, so you don't need to meddle any further!"

Seeing that no one spoke, Su Zhan didn't bother to stay there any longer. To be honest, this trip to OA Star had truly left him a bit disappointed and disheartened.

Shaking his head, Su Zhan floated up directly and flew out of OA Star.

The Green Lanterns exchanged glances, watching Su Zhan leave.

As for Sinestro's death and what the Green Lanterns should do next, Su Zhan wasn't interested. However, the Guardian not showing up did surprise him a little, but a second thought brought understanding.

The older they live, the more cowardly they become—that describes them perfectly.

In his impression, they were just overly worried and cautious; to put it bluntly, they lacked courage and had too many concerns!

By the time Su Zhan flew back from OA Star, it was already morning on Earth.

Slowly descending from the sky, he found an empty spot and realized he was in a place called National City. This city was unfamiliar, and its name was a bit awkward; he really had no impression of it.

Just as he was considering whether to go to Star City or Coast City, he suddenly saw a woman in the hurried crowd nearby, wearing a red skirt and a gray top. This woman was carrying a briefcase, holding a phone, and a cup of coffee in her other hand. She wore large glasses and had her golden hair tied in a ponytail, looking like a busy, ordinary female office worker.

"So, it's here!"

Seeing her, Su Zhan's lips curved into an involuntary smile.

While he had no impression of National City, seeing this woman, this female office worker, he knew exactly where he was.

"I just met someone from the Supernatural Action Bureau, and now I'm here. What a coincidence!"

Su Zhan chuckled and slowly followed her from behind.

Not long after, he saw the female office worker enter a company. Su Zhan looked up.

CatCo Worldwide Media!

"Since I've stumbled upon it, I'll see what you're really like!" Su Zhan chuckled softly, deciding not to leave for now.

… …

… …

"Phew, finally done." A figure appeared on the rooftop of CatCo Worldwide Media. Taking a deep breath, Kara took off her glasses, her expression a bit somber. She walked a few steps forward, seemingly intending to relax, but then she suddenly noticed someone sitting nearby.

This person was sitting right on the edge of the rooftop, with their legs dangling in the air.

Kara jumped, surprised not only to find someone there but also by the person's audacity to sit in such a dangerous spot. Was he not afraid of falling? Or… was he going to jump to his death? The sudden thought startled Kara, and she hurried over.

"Hey." Kara called out.

Su Zhan turned his head, looked at her, and smiled brightly: "Hello!"

Kara was momentarily stunned by his smile. An Asian man, handsome features, a charming smile—in an instant, Kara felt herself grow nervous. She said a bit awkwardly, "Hello, why are you sitting there? It's too dangerous."

Su Zhan looked down at his feet, then turned to Kara and asked, "Want to come sit with me?"

Kara paused, then walked over and sat down next to Su Zhan. "Oh my, what am I thinking? Wasn't I supposed to tell him to leave here? How did I end up sitting down myself?" After sitting down, Kara realized her mistake and muttered to herself, about to speak, but then she suddenly saw Su Zhan's profile as she looked up.

Bathed in sunlight, his appearance became somewhat divine, especially that subtle, almost imperceptible smile. Kara swore she had never seen such a charming man!

"My name is Su Zhan, what's yours?" Su Zhan turned and asked.

"Kara, Kara Zor-El." Kara answered instinctively.

"Kara, it's a pleasure to meet you." Su Zhan extended his hand. Kara paused, then quickly shook it.

Her hand was smooth and soft, and that boneless feeling made Su Zhan very curious. "Your skin is very good. Do you never get hurt?"

"Um, no… oh, I mean, I'm very careful." Kara instinctively blurted out the truth but quickly panicked and corrected herself.

Su Zhan smiled: "Actually, I don't either. Don't you think it's quite a coincidence that two people who don't get hurt meet here?"

"Yes, yes, it is. By the way, are you also an employee of this company? How come I haven't seen you?" Kara finally reacted and asked hurriedly.

"No, I'm just a traveler, I guess? I just happened to come to this city, came here, and met you!" Su Zhan said softly.

Kara seemed a bit unaccustomed to Su Zhan's gentle demeanor. She felt a little flustered, her heart beating very fast, faster than it ever had before. Could this… be love at first sight?

"Are you free after work? I might be staying in this city for a few more days, so… would you like to have dinner together after work?" Su Zhan asked.

Kara froze. Was this… a date invitation?

She was a bit flustered; she had never encountered anything like this before. Although she knew she wasn't ordinary, for so many years, she had always tried her best to play an ordinary role.

"Ring, ring, ring…" Just as she was at a loss, her phone suddenly rang. She glanced at it, then quickly stood up and said, "Ms. Grant is looking for me, I have to go back to work…"

With that, she hastily ran off, leaving the rooftop. Her hurried demeanor made Su Zhan unable to help but be speechless. Was this Supergirl? Was this Superman's cousin? She was just a little airhead!

"Oh no, I forgot to reply to him."

As soon as Kara ran off the rooftop, she realized that she had rushed away because of Ms. Grant's call and forgotten to reply to Su Zhan's invitation. After a moment of hesitation, Kara turned and ran back, but when she reached the rooftop, she found that Su Zhan was gone.

"Strange, where is he?" There was only one way off the rooftop, and Kara was certain she hadn't seen Su Zhan leave. She walked around, then instinctively looked over the edge of the rooftop. The ground below was normal, he hadn't fallen, which made Kara sigh in relief, but it made her even more confused.

He didn't fall, and he didn't leave by the stairs. Where did he go?

Was she too stressed lately, so he was just a hallucination she created?

The phone rang again, and Kara, without time to think further, left in a hurry.

All afternoon, Kara was somewhat distracted, constantly thinking about the scene on the rooftop earlier, especially Su Zhan's profile bathed in sunlight. This image seemed to be etched into her soul, particularly deep and unforgettable.

She finally made it through work and planned to go home and get some good rest. Perhaps… he really was just her imagination! When Kara got home, she wanted to rest, but she found her mind was especially chaotic, her thoughts uncontrollably wandering.

"Ah ah ah ah!"

Kara shouted in frustration, deciding to go for a walk. Perhaps a noisy, crowded place would prevent her from thinking about these things. Putting on her clothes and a jacket, Kara left her home.

Night fell, and the bustling, lively nightlife began.

Walking on the street, with the evening breeze blowing, Kara finally felt much better.

"Hi, what a coincidence. It seems we really are destined!" A voice suddenly sounded from behind, followed by a tap on her shoulder. Kara jumped and turned around to find it was Su Zhan.

She was stunned for a long time, then hesitantly said, "Why are you here? I mean… uh, are you a Zhenren (Immortal), or my imagination?"

"Imagination?" Su Zhan was taken aback, never expecting her to ask such a question. "Although I don't know why you'd think that, I can tell you with certainty that I am a Zhenren (Immortal)!"

Kara gave an awkward laugh, feeling a little relieved inside. Just as she was about to explain what happened on the rooftop earlier, Su Zhan said, "Want to grab something to eat? I haven't had dinner yet."

"Okay, okay!" Kara nodded in agreement.
