Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: First Visit to City Z

The terrifying force, enough to instantly kill a normal Demon-level Monster, was just right for Lord Poqi.

Lord Poqi, thoroughly enjoying the petting, narrowed all six of his eyes and cooperatively lay down, allowing Han Sen to do as he pleased, a comfortable purring sound rumbling in his throat.

Han Sen dutifully spent an hour with Lord Poqi before finally speaking, "It's like this, Lord Poqi."

"I need to leave for a while to complete the task assigned by Great Eyes. It should take a few days."

"Awoo...?" (Ah...?)

Hearing that Han Sen was leaving, Lord Poqi tilted his head and looked at him, his gaze conflicted.

All of his immense power was bestowed by Great Eyes, and hearing that Han Sen was going out to execute Great Eyes's mission, he naturally couldn't stop him.

"Awoo, awoo?" (If you leave, what about the food?)

Han Sen patted Lord Poqi reassuringly, and the large dog, long accustomed to it, showed no resistance: "Don't worry, there won't be a shortage of food. I've already arranged for my subordinates to deliver it to you on time every day."

Lord Poqi grunted twice in acknowledgment, but then he rubbed his big head against Han Sen, letting out a series of low "awoos."

Han Sen took a deep breath and steadied himself.

It was only because his own body was tough enough; if it were an ordinary Demon-level Monster, he would probably ascend to meet his great-grandmother after being affectionate with Lord Poqi once or twice!

As for what Lord Poqi said, Han Sen, who was fluent in dog-speak, naturally understood.

Although there wouldn't be a shortage of food, without the cooking process, the taste would naturally be vastly different.

After all.

Once you've tasted good food, who would want to go back to gnawing on cold, hard, dry raw meat?

Looking at Lord Poqi's large eyes, which held a hint of grievance and anticipation, Han Sen knew that the Dragon-level dog's favorability had likely been maxed out.

Patting Lord Poqi's head, Han Sen's tone was gentle: "Of course, I'll be back as soon as possible."

"When I do, I'll bring you some 'new flavors' from the surface to try."

Upon hearing the words "new flavors," Lord Poqi's eyes visibly brightened, and his tail unconsciously began to wag, instantly cracking the flat ground and creating several terrifying, cannon-like deep pits!

"Awoo? Awoooow~!" (New flavors? That's great~!)

Bidding farewell to Lord Poqi, Han Sen did not return to his territory but instead headed upwards.

Passing through the complex, layered underground passages, the low-level Monsters patrolling along the way, sensing the powerful aura of a Demon-level Monster, quickly moved aside.

Finally, a faint glimmer of light appeared ahead, along with the long-awaited fresh air.

That was the exit to the surface.

As he stepped onto the last few stairs, Han Sen's entire black carapace rapidly receded.

Bathed in the brilliant sunlight was a handsome young man with a gentle smile.

"Human world, here I come!"

...

...

Stepping out of the dark, damp underground passage, the long-awaited sunlight was somewhat dazzling.

Han Sen squinted his eyes and took a deep breath of the surface air, which carried dust and industrial exhaust.

It was completely different from the underground world of the Monster Association, which was filled with the stench of decay and blood. Although not fresh, it carried a vibrant scent called "humanity."

This area was on one side of Z City; what was once a bustling metropolis now showed signs of decay.

In the distance, one could occasionally see sparse pedestrians and a few passing vehicles, but all the shops in the shopping street where Han Sen was located were closed.

Some even had their doors wide open, with overturned shelves, scattered goods mostly trampled, and the shopkeepers themselves had vanished in broad daylight.

Decay, emptiness, silence... all these elements combined to paint a desolate picture.

At this time, the Hero Association was still unaware of the Monster Association's existence, yet the cancerous growth was already deeply buried underground, continuously seeping fear onto the surface.

The increasingly frequent appearance of high-level Monsters made the residents here like startled birds, migrating one after another to the safer city center.

But whether Monster or human, a terrifying urban legend was circulating—

It was said that a supremely terrifying entity resided here; whether powerful Monsters or human explorers who stumbled in, once they approached, they would mysteriously disappear, leaving behind only gruesome remains.

Han Sen, of course, knew who that so-called "terrifying entity" was: none other than the hero who acted on a whim—

"Caped Baldy," Saitama.

The humans who were killed were naturally the work of Monsters, but even the strongest Monsters met only death when encountering Saitama. Ordinary citizens often only found tragically dead bodies afterward.

Over time, fear festered in the unknown.

Now, it was not far from becoming a true ghost town.

"Saitama-sensei, huh..."

Silently reciting that invincible name, Han Sen felt little worry.

He knew that for Monsters, Saitama had his own set of judgment standards.

And Han Sen's core essence remained human; even after becoming a Monster, he had never committed the evil act of mass slaughtering ordinary people.

As long as he adhered to his principles and did not act like a Monster, even if they met by chance, Saitama would most likely just see him as a slightly stronger passerby.

Of course, there was no need to deliberately seek attention.

Speaking of Saitama, at the moment, Han Sen was facing a similar predicament to the bald Devil King—

No money.

And... no clothes.

Looking down at his strong body with its clear, flowing muscle lines, Han Sen put his hands on his hips: "The top priority is to find some clothes to wear first."

Under the distorted rules of this world, Monsterification could transform with the close-fitting clothes, but the premise was that you had to be wearing them.

Otherwise, like Han Sen, every transformation would revert to "factory settings."

Although with his current physique, far exceeding that of ordinary people, and his capital to stand out from the crowd, he didn't mind showing off his prowess.

But boys must protect themselves when outside!

"With so many closed shops, there must be some that haven't been completely cleared out, right?"

Han Sen muttered, looking at the largely abandoned commercial street. His gaze swept over it and locked onto a clothing store with a crooked sign and a half-open door. He immediately walked over.

When he reappeared, Han Sen was completely transformed.

A black high-neck sweater as a base, topped with a fitted, dark gray wool coat. The smooth hem fell neatly below his hips, perfectly showcasing his already superior waist-to-leg ratio.

His lower body was paired with slim-fit work pants, beneath the slightly elastic fabric were long legs full of explosive power.

With a youthful look and handsomeness comparable to peak Daniel Wu, even casual attire made him a walking hormone-harvesting machine for the opposite sex.

Of course, with Han Sen's looks and muscular build, he might harvest more than just the opposite sex.

Seeing no living souls nearby, Han Sen slightly bent his knees and exerted force, lightly stepping on the wall to climb to the top of an office building.

The entire Z City came into view. Han Sen's figure flickered, and when he reappeared, he was back on a distant street.

With his hands in his pockets, he strolled towards the city center.
