Annabel's POV
Daniel pushed me onto the bed the moment we entered the room, slamming the door loudly behind us.
His chest heaved heavily, his breathing uncontrollable.
With a lazy step, he moved closer to me, pressing his knees between my thighs.
"Daniel, you need to stop." My voice cracked.
His eyes dimmed. "How can I stop, Annabel?" He leaned on me, his hands pressed on the bed. "The contract clearly said that the submissive must be available anytime the dominant needs her."
My eyes went cold.
I want him too, but not like this.
Not when he is under the influence of jealousy. "Daniel, you need to come back to your senses," I scolded him. "You are losing it."
I pushed him off my body and made way to leave, but he pulled me back, and I fell on him.
Our chests pressed together. I could hear the pounding of his heart, my eyes melting into his as our faces moved closer for a kiss.
But I jerked away.
He covered my waist with his arms, drawing me closer to him. His lips brushed my neckline. Possessive , raw, and hungry to claim me.
My core throbbed, making me feel the liquid already gathering there.
He nudged the tip of my nose with his eyes half-closed. "Tell me you don't want this too."
I bit my lip into a thin line, fighting to resist him.
But before I knew it, my mind betrayed me. "I want you." Swallowing hard. "I need you, Daniel."
His mouth wrinkled into a wicked smirk. "How bad?"
"I need you so bad that it hurts."
He glanced at me for a moment before his mouth found mine. Kissing me, devouring me, raw.
My spine chilled. I wanted more, not just the kiss.
I wanted him to tear me apart and fuck me hard.
Daniel did not stop. He cupped my chin, dragging his tongue across every part of my skin, my nose, my ear, down to my neck, and then to my chest.
He circled my breast, teasing them as he kept kissing me.
Then he dragged his hands down my silky dress and pulled it up gently from the slit.
My body ignited with fire, burning to feel him buried inside me. I pressed my body closer as we never stopped kissing.
Until he pulled away.
My eyes opened in shock. "Daniel, not again, please."
His chest rose and fell rapidly. "Annabel, I'm sorry. I can't do this."
I opened my mouth, then shut it.
My eyes darted around his. "Why?" I asked slowly.
He drew in quick, shallow breaths. "It would be unfair. You are still untouched, and I don't deserve to take that away from you."
I leaned close to him. "Daniel, I'm not complaining. I have been holding on to this. And what did I get? James broke my heart."
"I can't offer you anything, I can never give you true love. Annie, I'm broken." Air rattled through him in hurried gulps.
I took his hand and placed it on my chest. "I don't need your love either. I just want to feel your touch."
His lungs fought for air with every inhale. "Annabel, it is not that easy. I'm just scared I might be the one to fall for you."
I sucked in my breath. "Then let me in. What will it take?"
"Just give me a chance."
He flipped his hand away from my grip, stood up, and moved to the window. "Get yourself another man."
My laugh came out dark. "Really?" I stood up with my arms wrapped around me. "Then why were you angry when James announced our reunion?"
He did not say a word.
With a slower step, I covered the space between us, standing behind him. "Daniel, whatever is scaring you from having something serious with a woman, you can just talk to me. Maybe I might be of help."
"Enough." He stopped me, throwing a hand up.
He turned and picked my hand, brushing it with his thumb. "Annie, you can be with any other man but not James."
"Your reason being?"
His shoulder tensed. "He doesn't deserve you. He will never stop going for other women, just the way his mother went for other men."
"Their family has cheating running in their DNA."
My brow ached. "What do you mean?"
But he stopped.
He gave me a dark stare before stepping out.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Leo had come to the airport to pick us up. We were heading directly to the office, even though Daniel wanted me to take a day off. But I saw no use in going home when I knew I would be lonely there.
The trip was a cold one, colder than when we were going, with just a little instructions from Daniel to his men.
He avoided getting into a conversation with me by all means, and I understood him. I did not expect him to be friendly with me after last night's heated argument.
When we got to the company, Lucian was already outside waiting.
His face beamed with joy when he saw me.
Daniel and I stepped out of the car and made our way to the building when Lucian came closer.
"Welcome, boss," he greeted Daniel.
But Daniel gave him a dark glare and left him standing.
Once Daniel was away, Lucian faced me with his forehead wrinkled. "Tell me, did he trouble you? Annabel, did he hurt you?" he asked curiously.
I stood as I watched Daniel disappear into thin air.
Lucian held my shoulder, assessing my body to find out if I had any scratches. "Annabel, talk to me." He shoved my shoulder.
I held his hands and wrapped mine over his. "Lucian, Daniel can never hurt me. He's probably stressed from the journey."
He narrowed his eyes. "Are you sure? I can go and deal with him for you."
I nudged him playfully. "Come on, Mr. Stroke is still our boss. You will get your ass fired if you try anything funny."
We both laughed and walked inside.
We were moments from going in when a voice called to me.
