Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 Push You Down Gently

"You said you were looking for Courtney?"

In Blue Valley, Pat was repairing a car that had recently arrived at his garage, half his body buried under the lifted chassis.

Hearing Diana and her companions, he used a creeper to slide out from under the car, looking up at them as he asked.

"Yes, we're Courtney's classmates, and there's something we'd like to talk to her about."

Kara offered what she thought was a friendly and warm smile.

Pat scrutinized Kara, unable to find any features that resembled a high school student.

The two guys standing next to her looked even less like high schoolers; they were tall, well-built, and had long, shapely legs.

Compared to them, he probably looked more like a high schooler himself.

"Courtney was in a car accident recently and is recovering in the hospital, so I'm afraid your hopes of chatting with her won't be met."

Pat smiled at them, preparing to slide himself back under the car to continue tightening bolts.

As soon as he got under the chassis, before he could even turn a bolt, he suddenly found his vision brightening.

His sight, which had been in a slightly dark environment, was now bathed in bright light.

The change in his vision was because the car above him had been suddenly lifted!

Pat watched in shock as the woman, almost entirely wrapped in a robe, lifted the car with one hand.

Amidst the creaking sounds of the car, Diana, with the car lifted by her right hand, asked him expressionlessly, "I know you. You're Star-Spangled Kid of the Justice Society, aren't you?"

"I…"

Pat swallowed, looking at the woman with "super strength" in front of him, and subconsciously nodded, "I am."

But then he realized he'd said the wrong thing and immediately corrected himself, "I'm Pat. Sorry, I don't know anything about the Justice Society."

"Is that so?"

Diana didn't waste words; she suddenly released her right hand.

The car immediately plummeted towards Pat, who was lying on the ground.

"OK, I admit it!"

In the nick of time, facing a life-threatening situation, Pat immediately admitted he was Star-Spangled Kid.

"A wise choice. If you had chosen to resist to the death, I would have had other methods."

Diana extended her hand, and when the car was less than twenty centimeters from Pat's face, she grabbed the rear bumper, stopping its descent.

"Phew!"

Pat, having narrowly escaped death, immediately scrambled to his feet, looking at Diana as if she were a monster.

"What exactly do you want?"

"Simple, the truth. Where is Courtney?"

"What I said is the truth."

After muttering a complaint, Pat told them, "Courtney is indeed hospitalized, but not because of a car accident. Follow me!"

Saying this, he walked out of the garage.

Diana, Kara, and Green Lantern exchanged glances, then followed Pat's steps.

"Wonder Woman, can I ask, if he hadn't told you, would you really not have reached out to stop the car from falling? Would you have let his face and the car have an inseparable contact of flesh and metal?"

"Of course."

Diana's figure disappeared from Kara's sight, but her voice still carried over.

Kara glanced at the car, somewhat confused by Wonder Woman's words.

Isn't Wonder Woman a woman with a strong sense of justice?

Why would she be so callous?

"I would have pulled him up from the ground and let the car's undercarriage have an intimate contact with the ground."

Diana's words drifted from a distance.

"Hmm."

Kara nodded. This was the Wonder Woman she knew, a bit fiery but not so callous.

In the hospital corridor, Pat looked at Courtney through the glass wall.

Courtney was resting in bed, her eyes closed, breathing evenly.

"Fractured hand, multiple soft tissue contusions, eardrum bleeding and damage, moderate concussion—this is Courtney's current condition. I promised her mother I'd take good care of her, but now…"

Pat took a deep breath, shaking his head despondently, "I'm a failed superhero, and a failed father."

"Who did it?"

Hal looked at the girl lying in the hospital bed, asking with a serious expression.

"I don't know. Courtney said the assailant was a woman, very powerful, with the ability to fly and shoot red lasers from her eyes. They called her 'Kara'."

Pat composed himself and told them.

Hearing the name "Kara," the trio all froze.

Green Lantern and Wonder Woman turned their gaze to Supergirl Kara in the middle.

"Courtney lost her Staff. If she had her Staff, she wouldn't have been so badly injured."

Not noticing the strange expressions of the three in front of him, Pat continued.

"So Courtney's Staff was stolen?"

After a moment of thought, Diana looked up and asked him.

"Yes, Homelander. He called himself that name."

"Is that so?"

Wonder Woman mused for a moment, her gaze drifting to Stargirl in the hospital room, her thoughts wandering far away.

As expected, it was too late; he got the Staff!

Near a deserted barn four miles from the farm, Sportsmaster and Tigress encountered two uninvited guests.

Eric stood before Sportsmaster, gazing at the hockey mask on his face.

Clark, meanwhile, stood gravely before Tigress.

The couple exchanged glances, not understanding why these two guys were here.

They had been planning to go to Kent Farm for an interesting hunting game, but they hadn't expected the prey to deliver themselves to their doorstep.

After the initial surprise, there was a keen and excited interest.

"Wow! What a coincidence!"

Sportsmaster spoke first. He took off his hockey mask, revealing his true face.

"I thought I'd have to walk a bit further, but the prey came to me, so I have to thank you!"

"Prey?"

Clark heard the other party call him prey, his brows furrowing in displeasure as he asked.

"Of course, your brother, Eric Kent, right? He showed us exquisite baseball skills, then rudely rejected our daughter. You know, when a girl faces the person she most admires, only to be rejected and humiliated, that taste must not be pleasant."

Sportsmaster shrugged, smiling as he spoke.

Clark retorted, "But I heard she attacked other classmates on the baseball team, even injuring them. I don't think a girl like that would be so emotionally fragile."

"Heh heh."

Sportsmaster chuckled, turning his gaze to his wife, Tigress, who stood to his left.

"Yes, Dana likes to challenge herself and others. It's something she inherited from her mother. She has quite a temper."

Tigress, standing nearby, chimed in with a smile, "That's right, I have my shining moments too, dear."

Eric, who had been silent, grew impatient with the other party's incessant chatter.

"Hey! Since you call it a hunting game, why haven't you started? My patience is limited. If it exceeds my tolerance, I might just end the game directly!"

Faced with Eric's arrogant declaration, the couple froze for a moment.

Then they exchanged glances and smiled in understanding.

"As you wish."

"Game time!"

Several baseballs suddenly appeared in Sportsmaster's hand, which he lightly tossed up and down.

The next second, Sportsmaster quickly threw one of the baseballs at Eric.

With a whoosh, the baseball turned into a bullet, whistling through the air, heading straight for Eric's head.

At the same time, Sportsmaster pulled a baseball bat from his hand and roared.

With a crisp "bang," another baseball came whistling louder.

After hitting the baseball, Sportsmaster quickly sprinted towards Eric.

He leaped, staying airborne far longer than a normal person, and delivered a series of aerial kicks towards Eric.

Booming sounds erupted!

In less than half a second, Eric reached out, caught the incoming baseball, and then crushed it.

Twisting his waist and swinging his leg, a leg whip struck Sportsmaster's chest, sending him flying.

With a thud, the opponent's body hit the ground, making a dull sound.

"If it's only this level, the game will end very quickly."

Eric retracted his right leg, saying unhappily.

"Cough, cough."

Sportsmaster, having taken a hit to the chest, with blood spilling from the corner of his mouth and his body uncontrollably aching, his head was ringing.

The physical pain was secondary; the psychological blow was far more agonizing.

He had initially thought Eric was just a strong young man, but he hadn't expected him to be this powerful!

Suppressing his inner unease, Sportsmaster got up and charged at Eric again.

On the other side, Tigress and Clark had already engaged.

Half-crouching on the ground, Tigress, in a strange stance, stared fiercely at Clark with murderous eyes.

The next second, Tigress leaped, brandishing the metal Talon in her hand, and lunged at Clark.

Clark, with his super speed, easily dodged her attack, then countered by pushing her forward with a strong shove.

Tigress lost her balance and crashed to the ground with a thud.

Clark instantly moved to her side, reaching out to grab Tigress, who lay motionless on the ground.

But a sudden change occurred: Tigress suddenly released a cloud of smoke.

With a popping sound, the smoke enveloped the area!

Tigress's figure immediately disappeared from Clark's sight.

"Hoo-ah!"

Accompanied by a roar, Tigress burst out from behind Clark, her metal Talon fiercely striking his back.

To her surprise, the metal Talon did not pierce Clark's skin.

Before she could react, stunned, she was hit in the chest by Clark's punch.

With a thud, Tigress immediately fell backward.

However, because he touched something overly soft, Clark was momentarily distracted, and as she fell backward, she hooked his leg, pulling him to the ground.

Clark tried to get up, but Tigress, roaring, hugged his back, her arms and hands tightly locking him, pressing herself completely against him.

Clark, who liked beautiful women but had no interest in ugly ones, immediately found his desire to fight greatly diminished.

Clark was in a "tough battle," but Eric was having an exceptionally easy time.

To adapt to his rapidly increasing combat power, he had been holding back, playing a close-quarters combat game with his opponent.

"Hmph!"

Sportsmaster swung both fists left and right at Eric's upper body, but Eric simply extended one arm, blocking the opponent's barrage of attacks.

Then, seizing the moment his opponent's momentum faltered, he threw a punch, hitting him in the nose.

Sportsmaster, with blood gushing, immediately clutched his nose and retreated.

Whoosh!

Eric instantly moved in front of him.

Filled with terror, Sportsmaster no longer had any desire for a hunting game and immediately turned and ran forward, leaping over a scrapped planter.

Just as Eric was about to give chase, Sportsmaster turned and threw several baseballs, attempting to hinder his pursuit.

Eric easily dodged them, then kicked the planter forward.

With a "clang," the planter struck Sportsmaster's back, eliciting a scream as he was sent flying.

Boom!

Eric leaped, soaring dozens of meters into the air, and landed near Sportsmaster, causing the ground to shatter like tofu.

Sportsmaster, who had witnessed Eric leap dozens of meters high, now stared with wide, terrified eyes.

Before he could beg for mercy, Eric grabbed him by the collar, lifted him, and threw him onto the nearby abandoned barn.

Crash!

Sportsmaster's body tore through the barn roof, crashing straight down.

Eric flew into the sky, slowly descending to the large hole smashed into the barn, landing steadily on it.

Instead of looking down through the hole Sportsmaster had made, he turned to face a dark corner on the barn roof.

"Hoo-ah!"

Accompanied by a roar, Sportsmaster and Tigress's daughter—Dana—armed with a baseball bat, swung at Eric.

She had been waiting here for a long time.

Dana had always known her parents were supervillains, ever since elementary school.

But she felt no resistance or disgust; instead, she yearned for it.

Because she discovered that she had violent tendencies from a young age, and they were the uncontrollable kind.

Moreover, her violent tendencies were fully supported by her parents. The first time she was pushed, her mother would encourage her to punch the boy who pushed her.

She gradually became addicted to this feeling—the pleasure brought by violence!

This was also why she was repeatedly benched by the coach on the baseball team.

Today, seeing her parents put on their costumes and go out, she secretly followed them, only to witness the arrival of a monster!

Although she was somewhat scared hiding on the roof, when she saw her father being beaten so miserably by the opponent, she finally couldn't help but jump out and attack him.

Facing Dana's baseball bat attack, Eric didn't dodge. He grabbed her by the neck, lifting her into the air.

Dana, her neck gripped, felt her breathing become difficult, her face turning crimson, and dizzy spells washing over her.

Despite this, she still glared fiercely at Eric with reddened eyes.

Eric naturally had no thoughts of being gentle with a girl. He held her neck, moving her to a suspended position outside the roof.

Dana's eyes showed terror, her body lost balance, and her hands weakly reached out in Eric's direction, trying to grasp something.

But in the end, she only grasped air, and her entire body plummeted downward.
