Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: Monsters frighten children, women frighten adults

Because of a small coin, the few people present fell into a strange silence.

Clark looked at Eric, feeling like his yellow underwear incident might be over.

Because Eric had even less integrity than him.

Since two similar, integrity-lacking incidents happened at the same time, people would remember the one with even less integrity.

So he should actually thank Eric?

Clark fell into deep thought.

Wonder Woman, the person involved in the incident, quickly adjusted her emotions after a brief moment of shock.

She bent down, picked up the Zeus Olympian coin from the ground, pretended nothing had happened, and turned to leave.

"If you want to keep standing here with them to show your courage, then go ahead, Hal Jordan."

Wonder Woman's cold voice came.

Hal was stunned for a moment, then immediately took Dana and followed Wonder Woman's footsteps.

"You seemed to have called my real name just now?"

Hal asked her in surprise.

"Yes, I'm very annoyed, so I plan to vent."

Wonder Woman said expressionlessly.

"So your way of venting is to shout out my real name, make me fall into great shock, and then become distracted and disoriented?"

Hal felt that Wonder Woman was too despicable; she was embarrassed so she made others feel bad too.

However, compared to Wonder Woman's "annoyed and wanting to vent," he guessed the deeper reason was that she was upset he saw her secret.

Sure enough,

Grandma invented monsters to scare children; God created women to scare adults.

Hal complained wildly in his heart.

As the two were walking, a gust of wind whistled past.

Kara landed from the sky, her face flushed.

"Where's that bastard Eric?"

Kara, huffing and puffing, asked the two.

"That's enough for today, Kara."

Wonder Woman frowned, looking at the rather disheveled Kara.

Her face was flushed, there was even a shallow scratch, her clothes were covered in dirt and specks of blood, and her black stockings on her thighs had several tears.

It was clear at a glance that she had suffered quite a bit in her fight with Eric.

"Why? That bastard bullied me, and you're just letting him off?"

Kara felt that Eric shouldn't get off easy; at least he should know the price of bullying her.

Otherwise, wouldn't Eric become even more aggressive when facing her in the future?

Green Lantern, standing to the side, looked at Kara with a strange expression.

Bullied?

To what extent was she bullied?

Pinching his chin with his right hand, Hal fell into thought.

"It's not letting them off; we still have many scores to settle with the two of them, but there's no need to be fixated on the moment, Kara."

Wonder Woman asked her, "Also, didn't you say you were Superman and Homelander's sister? Why do you seem more like their enemy than anyone else?"

"I..."

Facing Wonder Woman's soul-searching question, Kara awkwardly touched the tear in her black stocking.

"I... I don't know why either, but I'll investigate it thoroughly next. But the fact that I'm Eric and Clark's sister can't be erased no matter what. Even if we travel through time, only emotions don't change with time, right?"

"Hey, I found something very interesting."

Green Lantern suddenly interrupted their conversation, "This place is full of energy, and there are many strange meteorites growing here. Maybe we can collect some; who knows what use they might have in the future."

He had the idea of collecting meteorites.

"Whatever, but aren't you calling yourself a cosmic police? Can't you pick up meteorites anytime, anywhere? The universe, Earth, and other planets—you can pick them up like trash anywhere."

Kara asked him.

"This place—it's a bit different."

Hal shrugged and replied.

Whew! Whew!

Lex ran forward along the path.

Due to prolonged running, his physical strength rapidly drained.

Gasping for air, he surveyed his surroundings.

It should be here!

Wiping the sweat from his head, Lex continued towards the place he had observed with his telescope.

He pushed aside the grass in front of him.

Suddenly, a shadow flashed past him.

His gaze quickly caught a figure.

Although the night was pitch black, he still saw the general appearance of the figure.

It seemed to be a woman with an explosive figure, who flew directly into the sky, accelerated, and then disappeared into the gloomy night.

"This is!"

Staring at the disappearing back, Lex fell into great shock.

What was this?

An alien with flight capabilities?

Or simply one of those mysterious forces?

But...

No matter how mysterious, he had never seen anyone with such flight capabilities!

And at a flight speed and acceleration like a fighter jet!

The phenomenon before him instantly overturned all the knowledge he had learned before.

It seemed as if the door to a new world was opening to him.

In an instant, he felt as if he had grasped the mystery he had always pursued!

"This is why I don't trust the Luthor Family, because you always backstab people when they give you their trust."

Jonathan's voice came from behind him.

Lex let his shocked heart calm down, took a few deep breaths, and turned to face Jonathan, who had caught up.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kent, I've let down your trust. I only rushed here to confirm one thing."

Facing the shotgun Jonathan was pointing at him, Lex very sensibly raised his hands.

"It's not just one thing, you want to gain more, Mr. Luthor."

Jonathan said in an unfriendly tone, "People of the Luthor Family are all the same, insatiable. When they get one thing, they want more, endlessly. I understand your father, and I believe you are the same."

"Actually, my father and I are fundamentally different."

Lex, with his hands raised, said in a relaxed tone, "He is a tyrant, and I am a manager and organizer who is good at listening to others' opinions."

"I don't care about tyrants or leaders. What I care about is cutting ties with you as soon as possible. Don't come near us, don't come near the farm, especially Eric and Clark. We are not from the same world. If you insist on doing so, I cannot guarantee that you won't suffer any harm."

Jonathan threatened Lex.

"I will remember your advice, Mr. Kent."

Lex shook the telescope in his hand and asked, "So, can I go now?"

Jonathan looked at his actions and lowered the shotgun in his hand.

"Of course, I need you to go back the way you came, Mr. Luthor. And promise not to be so reckless next time."

"Of course."

Lex glanced at where Kara had disappeared, sighing almost imperceptibly.

Late at night, Kent Farm.

"You said you met Kara, and she had two companions?"

Jonathan frowned and asked Eric.

The three had returned to the farm half an hour ago, and Clark had already changed into a new pair of pants.

Martha came over, poured the three a cup of hot coffee, and asked, "Is she still not giving up?"

"I don't know."

Clark shook his head blankly, "Eric fought her again, but I feel like she's no longer as aggressive as before; instead, she's like a different person, and she showed me a very..."

He hesitated, organized his words, "...a very intimate and affectionate attitude, it felt as if I was her family."

Jonathan heard this and gently put down the coffee he was holding.

"We can't rule out that this is an enemy's conspiracy."

Saying that, he got up and walked to the cabinet, took out a document from inside, and handed it to Eric.

"This is the information about Kara that I had someone investigate."

"Investigate?"

Eric didn't expect his father to have such awareness.

"When she first came to our house, she drank a cup of strong tea. It's not difficult to obtain her information using the fingerprints on the teacup."

"Linda Harrison, that's her name. Seventeen years ago, she was arrested and imprisoned for theft. When the police were escorting her in a patrol car, they passed through Smallville, and she disappeared. I don't know what happened, but one thing is certain: 'Kara' is an Earthling."

Jonathan slowly revealed all the information he knew to his family.

"But I feel like she's changed, perhaps we missed some important clues."

Clark was somewhat unable to accept that the 'sister' who had always called out to him was actually an Earthling.

Then he shook his head blankly, "I don't think things should be like this. Her two companions, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, don't look like Earthlings. Maybe she really is a Kryptonian."

"Clark."

Eric put down his coffee cup and said, "Then, have you ever thought that the Kara we met tonight and the Kara we met before are two different people?"

"The former is indeed a Kryptonian, while the latter is just a tool person empowered and used by Jor-El."

Eric told Clark the truth.

"There is indeed such a possibility."

Jonathan, standing by and leaning against the round table, nodded, "If things are this complicated, then we will encounter more trouble next."

Saying that, he walked over and put his hand on Clark's shoulder, "But no matter what kind of trouble it is, Martha and I will stand behind you and support you."

"Mm."

Clark nodded, his mind heavy, but the doubts and confusion in his heart did not dissipate.

At two in the morning, after the whole family had fallen asleep, Clark suddenly woke up from a dream.

He suddenly felt a pang in his heart.

It seemed like something was calling him.

He got out of bed, left the room, and followed his feelings towards the barn where the spaceship was hidden.

After entering the barn, he found dazzling light emanating from the cellar.

Dazzling light seeped from inside the cellar, illuminating the entire barn brightly.

Clark covered his eyes with his hand, opened the cellar door, and looked inside.

The scene inside the cellar greatly surprised him!
