Clark, clutching his head, leaned against the wall, enduring the stinging pain in his skull.
Light seeped from the cellar, and an invisible summons seemed to be calling him.
"Ugh!"
Clark endured the pain, walking step by step towards the bottom of the cellar.
Upon opening the cellar door and entering, he indeed found that the spaceship had reactivated.
Jor-El's voice emanated from within the spaceship.
"Kal, you must obey me!"
Clark shook his head, his face resolute as he gazed at the spaceship hovering in the air.
"You are not my father. I will not let you control me! Nor will I let you harm my family!"
His voice was filled with an unyielding determination.
Jor-El did not answer him, seemingly enraged. A beam of light shot out from the spaceship, directly blasting Clark against the wall.
An invisible energy held his form, pinning his body tightly against the wall, unable to move.
A strong wind generated from within the spaceship, making Clark's clothes flap wildly.
Whoosh!
Clark's upper garment was violently torn open, and an invisible energy from within the spaceship surged directly into his body.
A burning pain erupted in his chest.
It was as if flames were etching marks onto his chest.
Feeling the searing pain, he couldn't help but let out a cry of agony.
"Ah!"
"You cannot resist him, Kal. This is the mark of your ancestors. You cannot resist it!"
Jor-El's voice carried an undeniable and unchallengeable authority.
As he spoke, a circular mark was burned onto Clark's chest.
Ignoring Clark's pain, Jor-El continued, "When the sun reaches its zenith, your journey will officially begin. If you do not comply, then you will harm those you love most!"
Bang!
Jor-El's words from inside the spaceship were not yet finished when Eric kicked open the cellar door and burst in.
Red Heat Vision shot from his eyes, slamming into the spaceship's body.
The maximum power Heat Vision did not completely destroy the spaceship, only causing it to slightly wobble. ♦ ♕ ♦ ඏ
Although it didn't successfully destroy the spaceship, it did stop its continued operation.
The spaceship crashed to the ground, and the light and strong wind it emitted instantly vanished.
Thud!
After losing control, Clark, who had been held in mid-air, fell to the ground with a thud.
Eric retracted the Heat Vision from his eyes and looked at Clark, who was lying on the ground.
"Are you alright, Clark?"
"Cough, cough!"
Coughing, Clark stood up and looked down at the mark burned onto his chest.
It was a flesh-colored circle containing an "S" shaped symbol.
"Not so good. What is this?"
Seeing the mark on his chest, Clark was greatly surprised and looked up to ask Eric.
"I don't know, but clearly, they can't hold back anymore."
Eric took off his jacket and handed it to Clark, "Put on some clothes and cover it up first."
Clark touched the burned area on his chest and felt a piercing pain.
Putting on Eric's clothes to cover the scar on his chest, he asked Eric worriedly, "What should we do next?"
"Since it said that when the sun reaches its zenith, your journey will begin, then—"
Eric pondered for a moment, then said coldly, "Then let it never see the sun rise!"
"What?"
Clark was stunned when he heard Eric's words.
Without further explanation to the other party, Eric directly grabbed the spaceship and flew out of the cellar with a whoosh.
The destination he was heading for was the North Pole!
Now, the Northern Hemisphere was entering autumn and winter, and the Arctic region had entered polar night.
Polar night refers to the phenomenon where the sun remains entirely below the horizon for an entire day.
In the long, dark night, even daytime is enveloped in darkness, and one must use electric lights to see things clearly.
In such a dark environment, surrounded by pitch black, the sun would never be seen reaching its zenith.
Since you like prophecies and being a Riddler so much, then let your prophecy become an absurd impossibility that can never come true.
Boom!
A conical cloud unfolded, accompanied by the sound of air bursting, as Eric's speed broke the sound barrier, disappearing into the sky in an instant.
Eric flew at high speed in the air, but due to his extremely high altitude and astonishing speed, he was not detected by radar.
Although current radar is advanced enough to precisely detect fragments with a diameter of a dozen centimeters, the premise is that the fragment can reflect the microwave signals emitted by the radar.
Since Eric himself reflected weak radar microwave signals, and he flew both high and fast, radar could not capture his figure.
Thump!
The explosive sound from the air was faintly picked up by those on the ground with Super Senses.
In Gotham City, Green Lantern looked up, his brow furrowed.
"Can you sense it?"
"What?"
"Someone flew over our heads, supersonic. Based on my understanding of various types of planes in the US right now, this definitely wasn't a plane. Of course, it wasn't a bird either."
Green Lantern asked Supergirl Kara with a puzzled expression, "Don't you have the same abilities as Superman and Homelander?"
He found it a bit strange that Supergirl hadn't sensed something like this.
"Yes, Super Hearing, Super Vision, and extremely sensitive senses, so much so that I can even hear the 'voices' of ants, but that's too tiring!"
Kara shrugged, "My brain is like a filter. Every day I hear countless people's voices, either very dark, or very vulgar, or infuriating. So sometimes I choose to turn it off!"
She said, pointing to her ear.
"Uh-huh."
Hal nodded, "Looks like I imagined you to be too responsible. My mistake."
"Of course."
Kara turned to face Hal, "I'm not the kind of babysitter superhero who can serve the citizens to the end, so expecting me to shoulder the responsibility of saving the world alone is basically impossible."
Wonder Woman didn't pay attention to the discussion between the two beside her. She looked up at the sky, her eyes filled with a serious gaze.
"By the way, Green Lantern, you went to Coast City earlier, right?"
Kara brought up a new topic.
"Yes, I admit it."
"So you wanted to go see what you were like when you were little?"
Kara asked excitedly.
"No, I just hid in the distance and took a glance at my mother."
Green Lantern did not tell the truth. He felt there was no need to tell the other party about some embarrassing things he had experienced.
Especially since the other party was a woman with a somewhat unreliable personality.
After listening to their conversation for a while, Wonder Woman asked Green Lantern, "Getting back to last night, you met with Batman last night?"
"Yes."
Green Lantern nodded.
"Did you have a conflict? What was the outcome?"
Wonder Woman continued to ask.
"The outcome, of course, is beyond doubt. I am the omnipotent Green Lantern. That vampire probably didn't drink enough true love blood, so he was unfortunately defeated by me!"
"Vampire? Are you talking about Batman?"
Kara didn't know why Green Lantern would call Batman a vampire.
"Operating at night, appearing and disappearing like a ghost, and what's more—super strong. What else could he be but a vampire?"
Green Lantern retorted righteously.
"Alright, I hope you can say this to the entire Justice League, instead of calling him a 'vampire' in front of Batman when he hasn't matured yet."
Wonder Woman interrupted Green Lantern's chatter and said to him, "Next, we still have to deal with him. I think you need to show him some respect."
"I'll try."
Hal shrugged.
However, it seemed he still didn't take this guy, who had just become Batman, seriously.
"Why are we looking for Batman now?"
After a moment of silence among them, he asked Wonder Woman.
"Now, I think besides him, there's no one else who can help us. Batman has seen the existence known as the strongest being, an existence that can even destroy our universe, and even countless multiverses. Although the war hasn't started yet, he has decided to prepare for it, and that's why we're here."
"We need to find clues to deal with that being!"
Wonder Woman gazed seriously at the Gotham City skyline.
"Although we got the timing wrong, we can't come for nothing. Before the particle accelerator restarts and sends us back, we need to gather enough useful information."
"Hmm."
Green Lantern put away his joking face and thought for a moment, "But I don't think Batman at this stage can help us much. My opinion is—"
He glanced at Wonder Woman, "Just quietly wait for them to call us back to the future. That way, our time travel journey will end. The sun reaches its zenith, and our journey will end, right?"
"Doing nothing doesn't align with my style."
Wonder Woman shook her head, "At least aren't you going to get revenge? I saw you as a child, pushed off a bridge by Eric."
"Cough, cough."
Hal choked and coughed, "You saw all that?"
"Just a little."
"What do you mean, 'a little'?"
"A little means I didn't see you crying before."
Wonder Woman smiled slightly at Hal.
"Alright, can I ask a question, Wonder Woman?"
Hal decided to launch his counterattack.
"Did you ever date Homelander? And do you have masochistic tendencies?"
Whoosh!
In the gloomy sky, Batman was chasing suspects who had robbed a gold store.
They were a gang, and they had modified powerful weapons. If he wasn't careful, he'd get ambushed and blasted several meters away.
After calling the Batmobile, he drove through the deserted streets of the poor district, then turned onto the main road with the roar of the motorcycle.
Just as he was about to continue the pursuit, he suddenly heard a prolonged scream.
"Ah—!"
Immediately after, a green blur flashed past him, slamming with a boom into a residential building not far away.
