After driving back to the farm, Jonathan sent Martha to rest and then went downstairs.
He walked to the round table in the barn, sat down dejectedly, shook his head, and a look of sadness appeared in his eyes.
"Dad."
Eric stood behind him, walked up, saw Jonathan's expression, and asked, "Are you alright?"
At this moment, Clark also walked in from outside.
"I'm fine, just a little dizzy."
Jonathan, pressing his forehead with his hand, lowered his head, sighing and pressing his throbbing forehead hard.
"Is it about Martin's little daughter?"
Eric said, walking to the round table and sitting down, "Although I'm not quite sure what happened, this is the only thing that could make the whole town grieve."
"I heard about it too."
Clark said with a heavy expression, "I swear, I'll find that guy!"
He gritted his teeth, his eyes spitting fire.
No matter who did it, he would never let go of something that crossed his bottom line!
"I—"
Jonathan, after a moment of silence, said, "Your mother and I had some unexpected things happen when we went for our check-up at the hospital today."
Jonathan took a deep breath and recounted what happened at the hospital to Eric and Clark.
After listening to his father's account, Eric pondered.
Raven, purple energy ball Raven, connecting these elements reminded him of a very popular member of the Teen Titans—Raven!
Raven's father is Trigon, possessing half-demon blood.
As the daughter of Trigon, one of the most powerful beings in the universe, Raven possesses immense magic, but because she constantly suppresses her evil magic, her usual combat power is relatively weak, but once she goes dark, her destructive power far exceeds that of Clark, who only learned to fly after going dark, possessing the power to destroy planets.
Starfire's home planet was destroyed after Raven went dark.
Eric was not too surprised that the baby in his mother's belly was Raven.
After all, she had more than once had her physical body destroyed, with her soul residing in an infant state.
It's just—
Eric, frowning, cast his gaze towards Martha upstairs.
When did Raven's soul reincarnate into his mother's body?!
If his sister was Raven, then she would inevitably become entangled with Trigon in the future.
If he came to claim his daughter then, how should he respond?
Trigon had once destroyed a universe and even possessed the power to rule the multiverse.
His abilities include spewing Hellfire, burning everything in sight, using magic to control others' minds, and summoning demon legions to release hellish energy to attack enemies' bodies.
Additionally, in terms of time and space, he can perform cross-dimensional strikes, break through time barriers, and perform super-time and space jumps to rule the multiverse.
He was once summoned by Constantine to fight the Injustice League (not the Injustice Society), instantly killing Ares, and pinning Clark and Wonder Woman to the ground, after which his battle with the Fifth Dimension hero Mister Mxyzptlk distorted time and space, causing Batman, Clark, and others to nearly be annihilated.
If he and Clark faced him, they wouldn't have much chance of winning.
He was a more troublesome character than the Upside-Down Man.
Withdrawing his gaze, Eric's eyes revealed a complex expression.
First Darkseid, then the Upside-Down Man, and now Trigon; the enemies he would face in the future were increasing.
However—
Only when the enemies he faced were stronger could he have more pressure, and it was not entirely a bad thing.
Jonathan continued, "On the way, I saw Martin's little daughter, that..."
Just thinking of her tragic state filled Jonathan with sadness.
"I saw purple energy on her body. Although it was unfamiliar to me, I was a little scared, thinking it might be the same purple that Martha and I saw at the hospital."
Jonathan, feeling flustered and uncomfortable, showed a vulnerable side in front of his two sons.
"I don't know what the child in Martha's belly represents?!"
Seeing his father's sad and self-reproachful expression, Eric reached out and held his father's hand, "No, Martin's little daughter and the purple you and Mom saw at the hospital are different; that's a completely different energy. Her death has nothing to do with Mom."
Clark also comforted Jonathan, "Eric is very sensitive to these energies, Dad. Since Eric says there's no relation, then there's definitely no relation."
Jonathan looked up, adjusted his emotions, and forced a smile at Eric and Clark, "Yes, Eric, you understand this world's mysterious and complex parts better than I do."
Glancing at Martha upstairs, Jonathan told them, "I hope you two don't tell Martha about this for now. The doctor said she needs to keep her emotions stable, and I... I don't want her to be stimulated any further."
"Understood."
"I will."
Eric and Clark both nodded.
After leaving the barn, Clark gritted his teeth, his eyes seemingly spitting fire, and walked straight ahead.
"Clark, where are you going?"
Eric called out to Clark, whose eyes were filled with anger.
"To find that murderer!"
Stopping, Clark walked towards Eric, "She was just a ten-year-old girl, still in her innocent age, and she suffered such a fate? I cannot allow such a thing to happen before my eyes! No matter who the murderer is, I will find them, I swear!"
"You know that wasn't done by a human."
Eric's brows furrowed.
"Even if it's not human, I will get my revenge! Eric, don't you understand magic? If you use your magic, your Staff, you might find the murderer immediately, instead of wasting time here!"
Clark raised his voice at Eric.
After seeing Eric's expression, he immediately calmed down.
Lowering his head dejectedly, "I'm sorry, Eric, I..."
"I... I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel so helpless."
Tears welled up in Clark's eyes, but he quickly held them back, "I've never felt so powerless as I do now. I thought I could save everyone, but I'm just someone who vents anger at those close to me."
"I accept your apology."
Eric turned to leave, "Also, I don't use magic. If you think shooting beams with a stick counts as magic, then that little girl in Blue Valley can do it too, but clearly, neither she nor I are magicians."
Eric gazed at the overcast sky and said, "If you can't control your anger, it won't help with what you need to face."
Along the road, Eric walked out of the farm.
He hadn't sensed any traces of magic in Smallville.
Since being cursed by Hecate, Eric, although still a layman unable to use magic.
But his keen perception of magic had improved significantly.
The magical aura scattered in the air could be easily sensed by him, and with his defense against magic, these magical auras had become substantial and visible to his eyes.
But now he didn't sense any magical aura in Smallville.
Unless the other party belonged to God or Lucifer's faction.
These two sources of magic had no relation to Hecate, and Eric's "curse" had no effect on the magic of these factions.
As he was walking along the farm road, a gust of wind blew past him.
Justice Society member—Bart Allen, stood before him.
Bart, with a red backpack and headphones, swallowed his pancake and said to Eric, "Excuse me, I was just enjoying Jenny's pancakes in the kitchen and temporarily forgot about image management."
Although he said "excuse me" to Eric, his expression didn't seem to show much embarrassment.
"Are you very free lately?"
Eric frowned and asked him.
"No, actually, I'm a bit busy right now."
Bart straightened his expression and said, "I heard about the tragic incident in the town, a sorrowful accident. I also hate that murderer immensely, and believe me, if I catch that bastard, I'll drag him on the ground with my speed until his body is shattered. My tolerance for scum is always zero."
"You came here just to express your anger to me?"
Eric asked him.
"No, of course not. I came to tell you some of my discoveries."
Bart pointed forward, "Do you mind if we walk and talk? Don't misunderstand, I don't want to go for a walk with you, I just think it might seem more like a casual chat between friends."
"Cough, cough..."
Seeing Eric's increasingly dangerous gaze, Bart quickly said, "When I was out last night, I mean when I went to the Justice Society to deliver food to the big guy, I found black smoke in the town. Even though it was a heavy rain, there was still black smoke drifting in the streets, strange, isn't it?"
Bart told Eric about what he saw, "Under the heavy rain, it was a bit unclear, it was black smoke or could also be considered 'shadows'."
"Shadows?"
After listening to Bart, Eric's brows furrowed.
"There's one more thing."
Bart took off his backpack and pulled out a camera.
"You should be very grateful to me. Look what this is."
He said, handing over the camera.
"What?"
Eric opened the camera with some doubt, and when he saw the first photo, his eyes narrowed.
"Lex Luthor?"
"Yes."
Bart said triumphantly, "An uninhabited island about 200 nautical miles west of Tiburon Island. I found him there. He's a bit unlucky. Although the closest country, Mexico, often has merchant ships passing nearby, that shipping lane has been blocked recently, so no one has found him. Do you know what it's like to run in the vast ocean? It's as boring as running in a desert."
Bart complained to Eric, "What's worse than the desert is that under this blue sand, sharks that can swallow you often pop up, though these sharks generally can't bite me."
Eric ignored his complaints and looked at Bart's candid photos of Lex.
The first one showed Lex, with a beard longer than Green Arrow's but a shiny bald head, wrapped in fur, arranging an "SOS" sign on the beach.
The second showed him rolling on the ground, seemingly bruised all over from fighting someone.
"What is he doing?"
Eric asked Bart, puzzled.
"Uh..."
Bart hesitated and said, "I'm not quite sure either, but I often see him talking to himself and fighting with seemingly non-existent people. It seems he has lived on the isolated island for a relatively long time, and he has developed—multiple personality disorder."
