Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: Prison break or peaceful escape?

Many prisoners charged directly at Eric.

Facing the first guy who rushed at him, Eric casually broke off a metal rod from an iron gate, held it in his hand, and swung it hard at the opponent's jaw.

Bang!

With a loud bang, accompanied by a scene of flesh and blood flying, Eric directly sent the opponent spewing blood and falling to the ground.

Although he could easily dispose of this scum using Heat Vision, considering he was in a police station and being watched by a group of people, he controlled his strength and did not unleash it all.

After knocking down his opponent with a metal rod, Eric walked into the corridor, looking at the chaotic, frenzied prisoners with wild, bloodthirsty eyes, and shook his head.

First, he walked up to the guy who had been the first to insult him when he entered, grabbed him by the neck, and lifted the bald man like an eagle snatching a chick.

A trace of sanity seemed to remain in the bald man's eyes, and seeing Eric's one-handed grip that choked him, he tried to utter an incoherent sound from his throat, begging Eric for mercy.

"I'm very curious now, what crime did you commit?" Eric asked, staring at his eyes.

"Rape!" The bald man said, his voice filled with pain.

However, before he could finish speaking, after only uttering the word "rape," Eric twisted his neck.

"Sorry, I don't have enough patience to listen to you say these things."

He released the bald man's corpse and threw him to the ground.

Then, using Super Vision, he caught sight of another guy who had spat at him earlier.

Thud!

He stepped out, moving to the opponent's front using Super Speed.

He grabbed the black man's jaw, and with a bang, slammed the young black man's entire body to the ground.

The black man, whose back hit the ground, let out a painful scream.

His spine felt broken, and blood immediately gushed from his mouth.

Then, Eric pinched the opponent's jaw and slowly lifted the black man, who was showing a look of terror, into the air.

Bang!

Finally, he threw the opponent violently into the crowd.

The black man's back was first violently impacted, and then he was thrown dozens of meters away.

Although hitting the crowd provided some cushioning, the unbearable pain from this huge impact still made him pass out immediately.

After finishing off the second person, Eric turned around and punched out, directly hitting the guy who tried to ambush him against the metal grate door.

The opponent, spitting out a mouthful of blood, glanced at Eric, then tilted his head and fell from the iron grate door.

After knocking the ambusher unconscious with one punch, Eric's figure transformed into a gust of wind.

A black stream of light crashed into the crowd.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sound of flesh and muscle colliding rang out, accompanied by screams, and several prisoners gathered together were all sent flying into the air by Eric.

Blood splattered from the prisoners' wounds, falling onto Eric's body like blood rain.

Although he didn't kill all of these people, there was absolutely no problem in making these guys lie in bed for three to five months.

As the commotion in the detention area grew louder, the clamor and the sounds of tearing muscle and spattering blood spread beyond the detention area.

The police, who noticed the commotion in the detention area, finally arrived, and upon seeing all the doors of the rooms where suspects were detained open, and the prisoners fighting each other, they immediately realized that a riot might be occurring.

Although a police station is not a prison, the number of people detained inside is not small, and if they all rush out and are not stopped and controlled, it could lead to an irreversible situation.

So, on one hand, police were dispatched to maintain order, and on the other hand, more personnel were called in from the Smallville Police Department.

As more and more police entered, the situation on the scene was quickly brought under control.

Many prisoners who tried to storm the police station and break out were instantly defeated by the police, who had more powerful firepower, once they encountered the assembled officers.

The police station riot, which lasted less than half an hour, was quickly suppressed.

Amanda immediately rushed to the police station after hearing what happened there.

"What happened?" she asked Nancy, who was frowning, out of breath.

"Nothing, just some unexpected situations that have been resolved."

Nancy had no intention of telling her the truth, merely giving a perfunctory reply.

"Take me to Eric Kent's room." Amanda said to Nancy after a moment of deep thought.

Although she felt nothing for the woman in front of her, who was even more assertive than she had been in her youth, Nancy had to have someone lead her into the police station's detention area.

Amanda, with shock in her eyes, took a deep breath as she looked at the detention area, which had turned into a blood-soaked corridor.

The smell of blood made her feel like vomiting.

Suppressing this strong internal discomfort, Amanda walked into the corridor.

She tried not to walk towards the walls on either side, only focusing on the police officer's back in front of her, following his footsteps forward.

She reached Eric's room and looked at Eric, who was shirtless inside.

At this time, Eric had already evaporated the bloodstains on his body, and his shirt had been burned to ashes.

Shirtless, Eric looked up after hearing footsteps, gazing at Amanda, who stood outside with a complex expression.

"Did you hit these people?" Amanda asked, looking into Eric's eyes and pointing at the prisoners constantly being carried out by doctors nearby.

"No." Eric, of course, denied it. "They suddenly went crazy and attacked each other."

"Then why are you able to remain clear-headed and not go crazy?" Amanda took a deep breath, moving her attention away from Eric's muscles, and continued to ask him.

"Because I am different." Eric stood up, shirtless, revealing his tightly built muscles, and walked to the iron bars, saying, "My eyes can see those existences hidden in the darkness, and those secrets unknown to people. For example, I know your name is Amanda Waller, and you came to town under the orders of Louise Lane's father."

Amanda's eyes showed a look of shock upon hearing Eric's astonishing words.

"You!" Amanda, who usually showed no emotion and was quite calculating, suppressed her inner unease and shock, and asked Eric, "What did you say?"

"Miss Amanda, this is not where you should be. Leave here, otherwise you will encounter more things you cannot face."

Eric stared at her, a dark red light flashing in his eyes.

Amanda caught this chilling light and couldn't help but take a step back.

Although there were iron bars between them, she could still feel the danger the other party posed to her.

"No one can stop me." Amanda calmed her breathing and said to Eric with a frown.

"Whatever." Eric stopped speaking, turned around, and presented his back to her.

Seeing Eric unwilling to speak, Amanda's sharp gaze lingered on Eric for a few seconds before she turned and left.

She now had many confusions in her heart that needed to be resolved immediately, both about Eric Kent and about this town.

The next day, early morning.

Nancy was dealing with the aftermath of last night's prison riot when suddenly two uninvited guests arrived at the police station.

"Lex Luthor and Clark Kent, I didn't expect two people with no overlapping identities to appear together at the police station," Nancy said to Lex and Clark, who had come to the door.

"Perhaps what determines relationships between people is not status, but feelings unrelated to interests," Lex smiled slightly at Sheriff Nancy.

"Perhaps, but I have some doubts as to whether Mr. Lex would abandon his interests for feelings."

Nancy took off her hat. "Let's get straight to the point! Mr. Lex, Mr. Clark, the police station has encountered a big problem, and as a participant in it, Mr. Eric cannot be bailed out for now."

"Eric is not guilty."

Clark, standing nearby, couldn't help but frown deeply and unceremoniously said to Nancy, "You don't understand the full story."

"Then make me understand!"

Nancy's burning gaze fixed on Clark. "Mr. Clark, your suspicion has not been cleared either. The matter of Bill extorting a million from you and then being killed—your suspicion in that case still hasn't been cleared."

"Even if it was in self-defense? Bill was a villain who was going to harm Lana." Clark retorted.

"Whether it's justice or not is not for you to decide, Mr. Clark, but for the law to define."

"Clark." Lex stopped Clark, who was about to continue arguing with Nancy, and said, "Leave it to me."

Looking at Lex's serious expression, Clark nodded and finally said nothing more.

"Yes, Sheriff Nancy, we all believe in the law and the rule of law it can bestow upon us. God put law and fairness together, but humans separated them. Losing 'fairness,' the crown God bestowed upon us, then the law will gradually become useless, precisely because good people don't need them, and bad people won't become disciplined because of them."

Lex's eyes looked directly at Sheriff Nancy. "I majored in American Constitutional and Modern Law in college. I am eloquent about them, but unfortunately, I am not here today to debate with you, but for something else."

Saying that, he pulled out an application from his In arms, "A bail order signed by your superior. If you have any further questions, I will provide you with Metropolis's best lawyer to explain every single clause to Sheriff Nancy."

Sheriff Nancy looked at the application in Lex's hand, was silent for a moment, then looked up at Lex. "This is Smallville, Mr. Lex. I hope you remember that."

"Of course, can I take the person now?" Lex asked, putting down the application with a slight smile on his lips.

Ten minutes later.

The single room where Eric was held was opened, and Eric walked out shirtless, along the long corridor, and saw Eric and Lex waiting outside.

Looking at Eric's bare chest, Lex exhaled and took off his trench coat, handing it to Eric.

"I heard you caused quite a stir last night."

Eric put on the trench coat, shook his head with a serious expression, "No! It wasn't me, it was Devourer of Heaven! But this trip to prison wasn't without Gains, I already know what the so-called Devourer of Heaven is all about."

After the three of them left the police station, they saw a tall and heroic woman standing in front of the police station.

Wonder Woman, in a gray-black wool coat, took off her sunglasses after seeing Eric walk out of the police station.

"Good, Eric, I thought if I were to see you, I'd have to break you out of prison."
