Chapter 190 - Chapter 190 You are opening the door to hell!

Late at night, Clark, who was sound asleep, suddenly woke up with a start.

The flickering light outside the window shone through, hurting his eyes in the pitch-black night.

He got up and walked to the door, opened it, and his eyes were immediately hit by a blinding light.

The intense discomfort made him close his eyes, and when he adapted to the strong light and opened his eyes again, he found the sky filled with colorful lights.

A rumbling sound came from the distant sky, as if something was falling from above.

At the same time, an increasingly severe burning sensation rushed towards him.

Amazed, he looked up and saw countless meteorites hurtling towards him from overhead.

The entire town was once again experiencing a meteorite shower, just like eighteen years ago.

"Ah!"

Clark woke up from his nightmare with a shout.

Martha and Jonathan, hearing Clark's cry, rushed over anxiously.

Eric also came over at the sound.

"It's okay, Clark, it was just a nightmare."

Martha comforted him softly.

Jonathan looked at Clark with confusion, "You were yelling just now, you really scared us."

"What?"

Clark was stunned when he heard Jonathan's words.

Not only did he have a nightmare, but he also yelled?

"You kept yelling 'They're coming!' What did 'they' refer to?"

Eric frowned and asked Clark.

"I... I don't know."

Clark shook his head blankly.

He wanted to say meteorites, but after thinking about it, he still didn't mention such a scene that seemed absurd even in a dream.

"Hmm, some kind of ambiguous prophecy, a nightmare that even Clark cannot explain."

Eric nodded, greeted his parents, and walked towards his room.

The next day, early morning.

Eric and Clark went to school together.

As Eric entered the school corridor to collect his graduation gown, he noticed some students around him looking at him strangely.

"Hey, Eric, Clark."

Lana, who had already received her graduation gown and was wearing a red academic cap, greeted the two.

"Good morning."

"Good morning, Lana."

Clark smiled and replied to Lana.

"Has something happened?"

Eric asked Lana, "Why are everyone's gazes so strange?"

"It's probably still because of what happened with Dikes, the teacher, before."

Lana shrugged, saying, "Although the police investigation later concluded that the tutoring class students experienced a mass hallucination, many people still claim that you killed Dikes, the teacher."

Lana said to Eric, "Honestly, I'm still a bit doubtful now whether what I saw then was real or a hallucination."

Before Eric could speak, a slight smile appeared on Lana's lips, "But none of that matters anymore. Our four-year high school journey is about to end."

Hearing Lana's slightly melancholic words, Clark also felt a bit down. He forced a smile and said to Lana, "I still remember the first time we met."

"Yes, back then you were a bit incoherent when you spoke, and Eric didn't hesitate to abandon you, so you had to walk back to the Kent Farm."

As Lana spoke, she looked at Eric.

Clark also recalled his awkwardness when he first entered high school. After reminiscing for a moment, he said to Lana, "Yes, time flies by so fast, and you're also preparing to leave school and go to college."

Lana paused, her expression becoming a bit strange. She looked at Eric, who was examining his graduation gown, and after a while, she shook her head, "I... I'm not sure if I'll go to college."

"What?"

Clark thought he might have misheard, "Lana, hasn't your dream since childhood been to leave Smallville?"

"I know, it's just that I suddenly realized that I feel like I'm doing it because some people want me to. If I want to go to college, I need to find some better reasons."

After hearing Lana's answer, Clark asked, "So, are you choosing to stay in Smallville?"

"I don't know."

Lana hesitated for a moment before saying, "If you all leave, I don't know if I can hold on."

"I have to go!"

Smiling at the two, Lana turned and left.

Clark watched her back disappear and asked Eric, "Why does everything seem to get complicated once separation is involved?"

"Because you always think too much and act too little, Clark."

Eric closed the locker with a dull thud.

Bang!

Jonathan split the wood in front of him with an axe and exhaled.

The location was the wood storage shed at Kent Farm.

The wood in front of him was the 16th piece of wood he had chopped.

"Jonathan."

Martha walked in from outside, "Clark and Eric will handle this wood."

Casually placing the split wood onto the pile, Jonathan said, "I can handle these by myself, Martha. You're close to your due date, this isn't a suitable place for you to be."

"I know what you're thinking, Jonathan."

Martha looked directly into her husband's eyes, "No matter what you do, you cannot replace Eric and Clark's place on the farm, no one can. Every country farm needs at least 5 laborers."

"Before Eric and Clark came to the farm, my family planned to hand the farm over to me. I can't find any reason why I can't handle the farm by myself."

Jonathan said as he moved the wood at his feet further away from Martha, then swung the axe in his hand down.

Martha looked at her husband speechlessly, "Sometimes I always wonder, which of you and your sons is more stubborn!"

She took a step closer to her husband, "Jonathan, when will you finally admit that the two of us alone cannot manage the farm well?"

"Admit what? Admit that without my teenage sons, I can't do it? What kind of parents would we be then?"

Martha replied, "Honest parents!"

Jonathan put down the axe in his hand, leaned on a wooden post, and gasped slightly, saying, "I don't want Eric and Clark to stay out of guilt and pity. That's not fair to them! They cannot sacrifice their potential!"

"I..."

He touched the protrusion on the wooden post with some discomfort and said, "Martha, you think I'm always strict with Clark and favor Eric. No, that's not it, I love them! Clark is like me when I was young, very much so, so I'm afraid he'll end up like me. Like him, I had to make a decision at graduation, and the problem was my father wanted me to stay on the farm, so I stayed."

"Jonathan..."

Martha looked at her husband's reddened eyes, came over and hugged his arm, "Why don't you tell Clark?"

"Because I don't want him to think I'm holding him back. Although I love my father very much, there's still a slight resentment now. I don't want to be that kind of father, and I don't want Clark and Eric to resent me."

Martha smiled and said, "No, you're wrong, Jonathan. It's not about what kind of father you become, but about what kind of sons they become."

"I can't believe I have a son like you, who directly transferred sixty million of my money! I know it was you, Lex."

At Luther Manor, Lionel looked at his son, who was confronting him, and said, "You betrayed me, Lex!"

Lex's eyes burned with anger as he stepped closer to Lionel, "Then return the crystal I found in the Heavenly Dynasty! I know you took it. No one in the entire manor can touch my collection except you!"

Ever since witnessing the Devourer of Heaven and other mysteries at Kent Farm, Lex's pursuit of the mysterious had become even more frenzied.

The crystal he found in the Magic City of the Heavenly Dynasty had disappeared after he returned from the deserted island, so he had sufficient reason to suspect Lionel.

"Believe it or not, there was a theft at the manor before, and many valuable things were plundered."

(Theft: A 'crime' Bart once committed!)

Lionel explained to Lex in a deep voice.

"My expedition team in Egypt was attacked and suffered heavy losses. I know your people did it. My private investigation team found evidence of your involvement, and you even sent commercial spies to me."

Lex exposed his father's crimes, "I know you are ambitious and no one can stop your goals, but I am different. Even if you are my father, I am still wary of you!"

"Heh heh."

Lionel smiled slightly, "Lex, you know there are three such crystals. Perhaps I might have one in my hand, but it's definitely not yours. How about we talk about the topic of father and son and betrayal? You think I'm ambitious and unscrupulous, so let me ask you a question, where is Helen?"

"What?"

Lex was stunned.

"Your wife, she's recently disappeared. Let me guess, did you make her experience your pain, make her experience the taste of a plane crash? I'm not ambitious, Lex, my son, you are a son of Satan, your selfishness and ambition are hidden deeper."

Before his father could finish speaking, Lex, enraged, slammed the table, "I didn't kill Helen!"

"Hmm, maybe you did, maybe you didn't, it doesn't matter now. The fact is, you took revenge on your wife. Your love couldn't overcome profit and hatred."

Lex, his mind clouded with rage at this point, stepped closer to Lionel, grabbed his collar, and said word by word, "Hand over my crystal."

Lionel's expression remained calm, "Lex, have you heard that prophecy? The prophecy widely spread in the three ancient civilizations: once the three crystals reappear, the world will face destruction. You are opening Pandora's Box."

"It's not me, it's you, Father!"

Lex pushed his father's back, pinning him against the wall, "I also know you've been secretly investigating the writings in those Indian caves. You're trying to open the gates of hell!"
