Chapter 81 - Chapter 78 The Curtain Falls

"hateful..."

Swallowing the metallic taste in his mouth, Joseph struggled to gather his magic.

Taking advantage of others' misfortune to attack Fairy Tail was an utterly wrong decision, but there's no going back, and Joseph could only swallow his bitter pill.

With a roar, he summoned dark magic, and the purplish-black magic transformed into hundreds of magical tentacles around Joseph.

However, the next moment, a thunderclap rang out, silencing his struggle.

The blond youth, wielding a lightning spear, shattered the disgusting magical tentacles. Laxus's method of using weapons was simple and brutal: just chop or smash.

The powerful attack emitted a piercing crackling sound of electricity, and the materialized lightning magic shattered the dark barrier, leaving a long trail on the ground like a rag doll.

Amidst the flying rubble, five magic circles quietly took shape.

Five magnificent magic circles of varying sizes were arranged one above the other, enveloping Joseph.

Mystogan doesn't make a move unless he's absolutely sure of it, but when he does, it's with the coolest magic, making him the most dazzling mage in the room.

The beam of light pierced through the five layers of magic arrays, descending straight down to seal Joseph. Then, a strong white light rose up and pierced through Joseph and the ghost castle beneath him, which had already reached its limit.

The Ghost Castle, barely holding on, let out a final, mournful cry and collapsed with a deafening roar.

Amidst the billowing dust, Joseph slumped to the ground, his fingers digging deep into the rubble, the blood seeping from between his fingers being vaporized by magic into a crimson mist.

Joseph's appearance had become withered, the veins in his neck were bulging, and his cloudy eyes reflected the four young figures. Suddenly, he let out a chilling laugh.

"Fairy Tail...don't get too cocky..."

"I haven't lost yet!"

An astonishing magical power rapidly expanded within Joseph's body. At a great cost, sacrificing a large amount of his life force, he gained the power for his final strike.

"With my blood... awaken the last skeleton..." Joseph's broken body was lifted by the purplish-black mist, and his sunken eye sockets burst forth with a cursed red light.

A magic circle unfolded beneath Joseph's distorted face, its runes writhing like living things, radiating a suffocating sense of oppression.

A purplish-black mist rose from the formation, swirling around Joseph, carrying an aura of decay and death, as if even the air itself was being corroded by this power.

A gigantic skeleton slowly rose from the formation, its bones gleaming with a cold, bluish light, two dark purple flames burning in its eye sockets, and an ominous purplish-black mist surrounding its body.

Laxus, Erza, and Mystogan all sensed the evil magic emanating from the skeletal giant.

It is utterly ironic that such evil magic was used by a "Ten Wizards" recognized by the Magic Council for his outstanding contributions.

Looking at the hideous skeletal giant, Noah thought of something; he had seen similar magic in his own Guild Chronicle.

At that time, the original four members had not yet founded Fairy Tail, and Magnolia was still ruled by a dark guild called "Blue Skull".

This dark guild's trump card magic, [Corpse], allows them to control the skeletons of powerful, deceased creatures to fight for them. As a result, they have collected a large number of magical creature skeletons, among which a giant skeleton is the most famous, hence the name "Blue Skull".

The original four-man team dealt with a giant bone dragon when they eliminated the "Blue Skull".

In the same year that "Blue Skull" was destroyed, "Fairy Tail" was officially established, and coincidentally, "Phantom Lord" was also registered and established in that same year.

Seeing the magic Joseph used, and recalling how the Phantom Lords had always secretly sabotaged Fairy Tail since their formation, Noah immediately understood.

When the Blue Skull was destroyed, a portion of their belongings were found to be missing during an inventory, and their iconic giant skull was also nowhere to be found.

The first guild master, Mavis, suspected that there were still some members of the "Blue Skull" who had slipped through the net, but because she was too busy with things after the founding of "Fairy Tail," she didn't have the energy to continue investigating in detail.

These survivors, after the "Blue Skull" was destroyed, not only didn't keep a low profile, but actually changed their identities.

Using the resources they had previously plundered, they transformed themselves and created the "Phantom Lords," becoming one of the orthodox guilds that maintain order in the magical world.

It's true that even a centipede with a hundred legs doesn't die easily, and a scourge lives on.

If it weren't for Joseph's ambition, the Phantom Lords would have continued to develop normally, but now it has come to an end.

Seeing the giant skeletal giant raise its fist high, Noah instantly dropped his joking expression. Armament Haki instantly covered his right arm, and he clenched his fist. The dark blue magic power gathered on his fist transformed into a giant abyss whale, surrounded by the magical radiance of five attributes.

"Five Extremes Explosion - Whale Killing Overlord Fist!"

The giant whale stirred up the ocean's fury, its immense power causing the massive bones to creak and groan, and its terrifying magic crushed everything in its path.

Two fists, one large and one small, collided, but the results were quite different.

In an instant, the magic Joseph had completed at the cost of his life force crumbled completely under Noah's all-out attack, and the skeletal giant he had entrusted with it was utterly unable to withstand the boy's immense magical power.

The last rays of the setting sun fell on the ruins of the castle scattered in the lake.

Orange-red light shone through the gaps in the ruins, casting dappled patterns on the calm lake surface.

Joseph was defeated, utterly defeated.

The tattered banner of "Spectre Ruler" was slowly blown away by the breeze, landing right on Joseph's pale and withered face, his eyes rolled back, black smoke billowing from his mouth.

Evil magic always comes at a price, and Joseph is finished.

This guild war has now come to an end, and it is believed that the "Phantom Lords," who violated the agreement between the Council and the orthodox guilds, will soon be punished by the Council.

Sure enough, while Mira was still directing everyone to clean up the battlefield, three magic airships flying the Council flag arrived right on time.

On one of the airships, Lucy and Gray waved to their companions, but Natsu, hanging halfway on the airship next to them, became even more conspicuous.

They waited to meet up with Noah and Erza, but instead of the two, they were greeted by the airship carrying the action team bound for Magnolia.

After handing over the victims of the Tower of Paradise to the Council for handling, Natsu and his group parted ways with Simon and the others.

On another airship, a gaunt, Mediterranean-looking old man, full of energy, uttered a booming voice that contrasted sharply with his stature, "You rascals! Well done!"
