Hawk didn't have time to think.
The moment he grabbed Gwen, he seemed to realize something, pulling her back forcefully, then turning around on the spot, exposing his back to Dr. Lizard.
*Bang!
* Dr. Lizard's claws slammed into Hawk's back like a boulder, sending him crashing down the stairs.
Hawk spun again in mid-air, his back slamming into the bookshelf below.
The bookshelf shattered.
All of this happened in the blink of an eye.
When the others reacted and saw this, they screamed and ran out of the library.
"Hawk!"
Dr. Lizard, like a true monster, stood on the stairs, his throat churning, looking at Hawk getting up below: "Blood, give me!"
Okay.
He's coming for me.
Aside from his clothes being a bit disheveled and dusty, Hawke, who hadn't felt a thing from Dr. Lizard's attack, listened to Dr. Lizard's words and thought to himself, then subconsciously looked at Gwen, who was also recovering from her shock, and asked, "Are you alright?"
He was just curious.
If Dr. Lizard was aiming at him, then why did Dr. Lizard's attack seem so directed at Gwen?
And this wasn't an illusion.

Hawke had been thinking of simply pulling Gwen away at supersonic speed.

Two strands of spider silk shot out instantly, snapping twice and pulling the Lizard Doctor, who was already flying, into the air, causing the Lizard Doctor's figure, which was rushing towards Gwen, to pause in mid-air for a moment.
The second sentence was spoken by Hawk.
After seeing the Lizard Doctor trying to kill Gwen right in front of him, Hawk's voice turned cold and sharp.

With a sonic boom, Hawk disappeared from his spot and appeared in the air in the blink of an eye, standing in front of the Lizard Doctor.
He lightly punched the Lizard Doctor in the chest.

The Lizard Doctor's chest caved in, instantly exposing the mutated heart inside.
Then, his body flew backward like a kite with a broken string.
Peter was also sent flying backward with him.
His two spider silk threads were still attached to the lizard doctor's back, so when Hawke punched the lizard doctor, the force of the impact sent him flying backward with a yelp.

After blasting the lizard doctor away, Hawke appeared beside Gwen in the blink of an eye: "Are you alright, Gwen?"
Gwen shook her head blankly.
Her mind was still frozen on the image of the flying lizard doctor rushing towards her.
Dr. Connors wanted to kill her?
Why?
This makes no sense.
Peter had just fallen from the ceiling onto the second floor, where a row of bookshelves had been destroyed and the floorboards had cracked from being caught by Dr. Lizard's tail.
There he saw Dr. Lizard's gruesome state.
His chest was completely caved in, shards embedded in his exposed mutated heart.
The mutated heart pounded, but the pace slowed, and the green color on Dr. Lizard's body was fading.
One blow!
Dr. Lizard was dying!
