Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 Hawk, Who Needs to Thank Iron Man

Under the sunlight, upon closer inspection, the blood, shimmering like stars, slowly drained from his body and flowed into the blood bag.

Hawk sat in a chair, gripping a hand grip ball while gazing at the Statue of Liberty standing on Liberty Island in the distance.

Anna watched the blood gathering in the blood bag with an expression of reverence.

The blood in the bag shimmered like diamonds sparkling in the sunlight.

Just then,the phone rang.

Anna took out her phone, glanced at the caller ID, apologized to Hawk who was having his blood drawn, and then walked to the side.

Gwen, who looked exactly like someone accompanying Hawk during the blood draw, glanced at Anna as she walked away to answer the phone before turning to look at Hawk beside her, lowering her voice.

"So, you traded 400 milliliters of blood for a truckload of iron meteorites?"

"Yes."

Hawke nodded slightly, looking at Gwen. "Do you think I made a profit or a loss?"

Gwen opened her mouth.

From a dollar perspective, Hawke undoubtedly made a profit, and a huge one at that.

After all, how much money can you get from selling blood?

According to the New York Blood Products Company's quote last week, 400 milliliters of blood could be exchanged for $150.

But what about the iron meteorites?

Gwen had just checked, and last week, a 35-kilogram iron meteorite was auctioned off at a New York auction house for $210,000.

And if we convert 35 kilograms to $210,000,the value of 30 tons of iron meteorites is estimated to exceed $179 million.

But Gwen frowned as she looked at Hawke.

"Your blood is different, Hawk, your blood…"

"How about this?"

Hawk smiled at Gwen, "I won't sell my blood.

I'll return the iron meteorite to Anna, and then I'll go find it myself tomorrow. It's only thirty tons, right? Looting the iron meteorites collected by Osborn and Stark should be enough. No need to sell blood, what do you think?"

Gwen's mouth dropped open at Hawk's answer.

The next second, seeing the smile on Hawk's lips, she realized he was teasing her, rolled her eyes at him, and whispered, "But you know your blood is different, aren't you afraid Anna…"

Gwen stopped talking, because Anna had already finished her call.

Hawk knew what Gwen wanted to say, so he smiled and said, "Don't worry, I've already talked to Anna.

Just don't use my blood for cloning. And don't worry, it's just this once.

Besides, selling blood is more in line with the definition of a good person than robbing." Gwen didn't want to say anything more after hearing Hawk's answer.

Either sell her blood.

Or become a robber.

Forget it.

Sell her blood, at least she'll earn her own living, better than robbery.

Gwen thought to herself.

Meanwhile,Anna, returning after making the call, looked at Hawke with a hint of joy and said, "Breaking news! Tony Stark's private jet, which arrived in Bharat Bangalore yesterday, has taken off and is expected to arrive at the private airport 30 kilometers outside Lake Culver at 2 PM on the 22nd."

The 22nd.

That's today.

A glint flashed in Hawke's eyes.

"Is it confirmed?"

"It's confirmed."

Anna handed Hawke a small tablet.

It showed airport surveillance footage of Bruce Banner boarding the private jet.

Hawke smiled, then seemed to remember something and looked at Gwen: "Not bad, no need to ask Helen for leave on Christmas Eve."

Christmas Eve is on the 24th.

He originally thought Hulk would only appear on Christmas Eve, and if he did, Gwen would have to go with him, which would mean asking Helen for leave.

This morning, Gwen was still thinking about a reason to ask Helen for leave on Christmas Eve.

Now, that's fine.

No need.

They'll arrive this afternoon, and if they act quickly, they should be back in New York tonight.

Gwen didn't answer, but asked curiously, "Tony Stark's private jet Didn't I hear Tony Stark went missing?"

Yes.

Tony Stark had gone missing again.

But last time he disappeared in the Middle East, and this time in Los Angeles.

And this time, Tony Stark's Malibu oceanfront mansion was bombed, all because of Tony Stark's declaration of war against the Mandarin last week.

Of course,Hawke knew that the Mandarin who created the Extremis virus wasn't the real Mandarin, but an actor.

The real Mandarin was probably busy resurrecting his wife right now; he wouldn't have time to deal with this.

Just like Hawke had heard the news last week, smiled, and then ignored it,

Anna did the same.

"Tony Stark is missing, but Stark Industries' affairs haven't stopped. The private jet thing was probably decided before the holiday, but we have another guess."

"What?"

"Bruce Banner came early, most likely because he knew about Tony Stark's disappearance and came to help."

"...That's possible."

Hawke listened to Anna's speculation and nodded thoughtfully.

The next second,he chuckled, shook his head, and handed the tablet back to Anna: "Then if there's a chance, I want to thank Tony Stark properly."

If it weren't for Tony Stark's disappearance, Bruce Banner probably wouldn't have come until Christmas Eve.

But now, Iron Man is missing, and Hulk has arrived early.

From this perspective, Hawke should indeed thank Iron Man.

Anna smiled slightly, didn't speak, but put away the tablet, and seeing that the blood bag was almost finished collecting its target, quickly helped Hawke remove the blood-drawing needle.

The moment the needle was removed, the incision on Hawke's arm healed almost instantly.

Hawke straightened his cuff and stood up from the chair.

Anna, like a precious jewel, placed the blood bag into a portable, cryogenically sealed case.

With a click of the lock, Anna, having completed this series of operations, wore a relieved expression.

Anna then looked up at Hawke.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. I always treat friends this way."

Hawke smiled slightly, then glanced at Gwen beside him, said nothing more, and instead took Gwen's hand and walked towards the yellow Corolla parked not far away.

Anna stood there, watching Hawke leave.

Gwen opened the car door, got in, started the car, and looked at Hawke sitting in the passenger seat.

Although she knew where their next destination was, she still asked,

"Where are we going now?"

"Calver!"

Hawke glanced at Gwen and smiled.

"Revenge!"
