Chapter 85 - Chapter 86 Phoenix Cloth and Reality Gem

The call between the two was short.

After a simple question and answer, they ended the call.

After hanging up, Hawke looked at his phone, seemingly thinking about something, then, as if struck by a thought, he looked up at the sky.

His gaze seemed to pierce through the red-tinged clouds, through the atmosphere, and then lock onto a high-definition communication satellite.

Through the connection of the high-definition communication satellite.

SHIELD Operations Command Center.

Maria Hill, who had returned here, crossed her arms, her gaze calm, but somewhat uneasy, looking at Hawke on the large screen in front of her, who seemed to be looking back at them.

She was worried that Hawke would perceive the call as a threat.

In fact, it wasn't a threat.

It was a compromise.

You can go, go back to New York City, and pretend today's events never happened.

There was no other way.

There were hawkish generals in the Pentagon clamoring to drop a nuclear bomb on Hawke.

But if it succeeded, that would be fine, but what if it failed?

Who would bear the cost of failure?

The hawkish general, upon hearing that he would be held responsible if they failed, immediately fell silent.

He could be tough, but he refused to take the blame.

After all they dared to act, and Hawke really dared to kill.

They couldn't gamble.

Most importantly, they couldn't gamble either; after all, the image of General Ross lying on the floor like a dead dog, headless, was right before their eyes.

None of the Pentagon generals wanted to be next.

So playing dead became the only option.

But playing dead was one thing, but Hawke was still at Quantico military base.

And so, the Pentagon thought of Maria Hill.

Maria Hill, looking at Hawke on the large screen, whose gaze seemed to meet hers through the satellite, took out her phone and dialed.

Hawke, looking up at the sky, saw his phone ringing again and put it to his ear.

"Hello."

"Hawk…"

"Reason."

Hawke's tone was calm: "You only have one chance to explain, Ms. Hill."

Hill quickly said, "Return the car."

Hawke raised an eyebrow.

Under the high-definition communication satellite, Hawke's expression was crystal clear.

Hill composed herself and quickly recounted how Natasha Romanoff had gone to New York City earlier that day to return the repaired car to Gwen.

She also mentioned that after Hawke left New York City, Natasha had stayed behind as a precaution to prevent the military from capturing Gwen and using her to blackmail Hawke.

She covered everything except her suspicion that Nick Fury was likely colluding with General Ross.

She currently had no evidence to support this claim.

But she would find out.

Maria Hill thought to herself.

Hawke listened to Hill's explanation in silence for a moment, then looked up from the sky.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Hill breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the thank you, then seemed to remember something.

"I can arrange a plane to take you back to New York City."

"Okay, thank you."

Hawke thought for a moment, but did not refuse.

After hanging up the phone, he looked at the only intact building in the entire base and took a deep breath.

He slightly stepped back with his right foot, and the stone slab beneath his feet instantly cracked the moment he landed.

The next second.

Boom!

The moment Hawke's right fist slammed out, countless panes of glass in the building in front of him shattered before his eyes.

In the blink of an eye, the entire building instantly cracked and collapsed…

With the appearance of billowing dust, the entire Quantico military base was now completely reduced to ruins, with not a single intact building remaining.

Maria Hill watched this scene through the satellite screen, her brow twitching.

The hawkish generals at the Pentagon watched this scene with trepidation.

Nick Fury, who had left S.H.I.E.L.D. and was in a secret room, also watching this scene with a strange glint in his one eye.

Half an hour later.

After the S.H.I.E.L.D. special plane took off from Quantico military base again, the soldiers who had been waiting outside the base only re-entered after the plane completely disappeared from sight.

Looking around, the ground was cracked, buildings collapsed.

Charred armored vehicles, tanks, fighter jets, and corpses littered the ground—a scene of utter apocalypse.

But what attracted the most attention was the corpse of a colossal figure lying on the ruins, completely charred.

"Hiss!"

"This is…"

"Abomination?"

"Where's his head?"

"Where's Abomination's head?"

Some soldiers, whose courage had returned after Hawke's departure, approached the corpse of Abomination, looking at the headless body with bewildered glances.

The next second…

The soldiers seemed to realize something, and simultaneously looked up in the direction where the Aegis-equipped plane had disappeared.

High in the sky,Hawke, sitting on a soft sofa, looked at the charred and grotesque head of Abomination placed before him, shook his head, twisted the head, and tossed it into a nearby trash can.

He had originally intended to take the head back to his sister's grave as a gift.

But his sister was very timid; when she was little, she would be terrified of even a mouse and hide in his arms.

Such an ugly gift would probably frighten her, Anya, to tears.

So never mind.

He couldn't let Anya cry.

Before, when she cried, his sister was alive, and he could comfort her.

Now that his sister was in hell, if he frightened her and made her cry, even if he wanted to, he wouldn't be able to comfort her immediately.

Hawke thought to himself.

But the thought of his sister still waiting for him to rescue her in hell only fueled his urge to go there.

After the Quantico War, Hawke had a clear and complete understanding of his current strength.

In short:

I am invincible among men!

But invincible under heaven.

An enemy from the heavens!

Mephisto, the ruler of the Hell dimension, is no ordinary being.

He is a god.

A dimensional god.

Hawke is not yet qualified to obtain what he desires from a dimensional god.

Even if his cosmos truly exists in the Marvel Universe, it won't do.

After all, in the Saint Seiya universe, Mephisto is practically equivalent to Hades, the god of the underworld.

A Saint who has just awakened, without even a Cloth, and without even a sixth sense, is about to fight Hades?

That Saint must be out of his mind.

So…

"The Cloth is key."

"And I also need the Reality Stone, to make my cosmos truly exist in the Marvel Universe."

"Only in this way, and only in this way."

"Can I go to Hell to find my sister."

Hawke's thoughts flashed rapidly through his mind as he decided what he needed to do next.

The Cloth is key.

And he has already found two materials for the Cloth, only lacking the final one, orogenic bronze, which is what the Marvel Universe calls vibranium.

Once he gets the vibranium, he can create the Phoenix Cloth.

Even if his cosmos hasn't been fully projected into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by then, wearing his Saint Cloth, he should be able to fight Thor.

After all the story of the Reality Stone takes place in Thor 2.

It should be next year.

The second half of the year?

Hawk thought to himself.

Just then, the cockpit door of the private jet opened, and a female agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. stepped out.

Sharon Carter!

Sharon Carter, who was about to speak, suddenly looked at the ugly head in the trash can on the ground and paused slightly.

"Mr. Hawk, this head…"

"I don't want it."

Hawk snapped out of his daze, followed Sharon Carter's gaze to the head in the trash can, and shook his head: "It's too ugly, I'm afraid it will scare my sister to tears."

Sharon Carter chuckled upon hearing this: "Indeed."

Sharon initially didn't understand Hawk's actions at all.

But after reading about Hawk, Sharon had a different idea.

"You're a good brother, Mr. Hawke."

"Heh."

Hawke glanced at Sharon and chuckled. "I'm not. If I were really good, my sister wouldn't have died."

He opened up.

Sharon sat down on the sofa opposite Hawke. "It's not your fault, Mr. Hawke. If your sister knew you avenged her, she would be very happy."

Hawke looked at Sharon but didn't speak.

Sharon's heart skipped a beat, and she blinked.

"What's wrong, Mr. Hawke? Did I say something wrong?"

"No."

Hawke shook his head and looked away. "So, you agree with my actions?"

Sharon smiled and said, "From a professional perspective, I have no opinion, but from a personal perspective, I agree. However, if I had a brother, and I were to sacrifice myself, I would prefer that my brother live a happier life, not one consumed by hatred."

Hawke refocused his gaze on Sharon. Their eyes met.

Hawke smiled slightly.

"I don't like it."

"Hmm?"

"Forgiving enemies is God's business; I'd rather send them to meet God."

"I understand."

Sharon paused for a moment, then nodded thoughtfully, looking at Hawke as if joking, "Then I hope I'll never become enemies with Mr. Hawke."

Hawke laughed and looked at Sharon.

"I won't offend others unless they offend me."

"I understand."

Sharon raised an eyebrow, nodded again with a smile, then shrugged: "So, what are Mr. Hawke's plans after returning to New York City?"

Hawke seemed to have thought of something, looking at Sharon.

"Learn to drive."

"Learn to drive?"

"Yes."

Hawke nodded.

Then he'd help his sister move.

He was rich now.

Lots of money.

Half an hour later.

The SHIELD jet landed smoothly at an airport outside New York City.

As Hawke stepped off the plane, his first sight was of his girlfriend standing not far away, beside the repaired yellow Corolla.

She was wearing a yellow wool coat, arms crossed, and smiling gently at him.

Hawke disembarked and walked over.

Their eyes met.

"I'm back."

"Yeah."

Gwen smiled brightly.

"Going home?"

"Yes."

"Come on, get in the car."

"Shall I drive?"

"No, you don't have your license yet. If you get caught, George might take you to court."

"Will you plead for me?"

"Hawk!"

"Hmm?"

"If you've done something wrong, you should admit it. You should stand in court and bravely admit your mistakes."
