Chapter 50 - Frantically busy.

After a moment of stunned silence, An Ran finally came to her senses and quickly extended her hand, saying, "Tang Yu..."

Tang Yu smiled so brightly and beautifully, but An Ran couldn't help but feel that the days ahead might not be so peaceful.

After all, this woman was never an easy one to deal with.

The invisible tension between the two was slightly noticeable, and when the other models suggested going out for dinner together after work to get to know each other better, An Ran smiled and declined, "No thanks..."

However, before she could finish her refusal, Tang Yu came out with a smile and said, "Don't be such a killjoy, it's the first day of work, are you really not going to give face?"

The other models and agents chimed in with agreement.

Even if An Ran wanted to argue, she couldn't find a reason, and in the end, she could only reluctantly agree, "Okay..."

After a busy day, Tang Yu chose a very high-end restaurant and paid for the expenses of more than a dozen people as soon as she arrived.

Her generosity was eye-catching.

"Miss Tang is as generous as ever!"

"Miss Tang is so generous, we're all becoming your fans!"

Compliments flowed out of their mouths as if they were free, and An Ran didn't say a word, just watching Tang Yu being surrounded by people.

Despite being Mrs. Fu now, in reality, Fu Lengyu had warned her early on that she hardly spent any of his money except for her salary. Even the clothes she wore were bought by the housekeeper every month according to tradition...

In fact, her wallet was cleaner than her face.

During the dinner party, Tang Yu's popularity among the employees skyrocketed, while An Ran remained indifferentand barely interacted with her colleagues. There was a model named Zuo Lingran who was petite and cute, but when she spoke, she almost choked An Ran who was drinking water.

Seeing Tang Yuren surrounded by people, laughing and chatting, Zuo Lingran sneered, "Such a small trick and she managed to win everyone's hearts!" She said it quietly, but An Ran happened to hear it and almost choked on her water. She turned her head and saw the beautiful model who had just spoken.

"Tang Yuren is the most popular among those people. Aren't you afraid of offending someone by saying that?" An Ran asked her, tilting her head. Zuo Lingran laughed disdainfully, seeming to have no taboo about such questions.

"What do I have to be afraid of? I've offended everyone I need to offend! If they don't give me any work, I'll be happy to have some free time!" She seemed to have a grudge against Tang Yuren. An Ran, who had just started working, decided not to delve too deep into the gossip of her colleagues. "Aren't you going to help curry favor with the boss?"

Zuo Lingran looked at An Ran, who remained calm, with a hint of surprise in her eyes. Tang Yuren had status, background, and ability, and was the object of everyone's flattery as soon as she arrived at the company. Although An Ran had the title of "Mrs. Fu," everyone knew that Fu Lengyu didn't care about her at all.

It was indeed a bit arrogant to not try to win Tang Yuren's favor in this environment. Zuo Lingran looked at An Ran, and her eyes flickered slightly.

An Ran found it strange. She thought that if someone wanted to survive in the entertainment industry, theywouldn't actively offend anyone. Ling Ran's behavior was completely ignorant of the rules, and his sharp edges and corners were not like someone who had been in the industry for long.

Although An Ran was curious about the reason behind Ling Ran's behavior, she didn't ask too much. In the workplace, it's best not to reveal too much.

After the socializing event, An Ran returned home. The lights in the villa were still on, and Fu Lengyu had not yet returned. An Ran breathed a sigh of relief. She really didn't want to share a room with Fu Lengyu anymore.

It was probably midnight when she faintly heard the sound of the door opening. An Ran was thirsty and got up to get some water. As she opened the door, she ran into Fu Lengyu who had just returned.

He was wearing a dark suit, with a serious expression and impeccable attire, as if he had just come from an important meeting, except for the faint smell of alcohol on his body.

An Ran was indifferent and greeted him, about to slip past him and go downstairs. Suddenly, Fu Lengyu reached out and stopped her.

An Ran stopped, her heart pounding. She looked up at him, and his eyes seemed to be asking, "What do you want?"

Fu Lengyu's cautious behavior made him very unhappy. He calmly asked, "Is your new job going smoothly?"An Ran was not very happy about this. Tang Yu was not easy to get along with. Did Fu Lengyu know that Tang Yu was working at the subsidiary where she had just been transferred? Was he deliberately sending her there to be tormented by Tang Yu?

As soon as this idea came to mind, An Ran couldn't help but want to laugh. She really overestimated herself. Fu Lengyu was the CEO of the Beijing Group, how could he specially calculate her for such a small matter?

That would be too idle, or rather, he was already so disgusted that he had to take the trouble to deal with her.

An Ran didn't think Fu Lengyu would care so much about her, so she quickly dismissed the idea. Looking back on it later, she felt foolish. A man who wanted revenge could justify anything with a vengeful mindset. Unfortunately, she didn't understand this at the time.

"Everything's fine," she said.

An Ran wanted to ask if Tang Yu was deliberately arranged by him, but in the end, she didn't ask. Fu Lengyu's cold and stern face showed a barely perceptible smile as he said, "If you encounter any trouble, you can come to me."

"Thank you. If I need it, I'll let you know!" An Ran didn't take his words to heart. If Fu Lengyu didn't actively cause trouble for her, she would be grateful.

The two of them went their separate ways. An Ran was very busy during the next few days at work, so busy that shehardly had time to go home. Fortunately, Fu Lengyu was also busy, although she didn't know what he was doing. Their work schedules were so different that An Ran hadn't seen Fu Lengyu in the villa for almost a week.

The new job didn't go smoothly, and An Ran was indeed tripped up by Tang Yu. However, Tang Yu's methods were very clever, and although An Ran knew it was him, she couldn't blame him for it.

Even Ling Ran, a sweet-looking, top-notch model, laughed at An Ran. "You're so pathetic. You're the nominal general manager, but you let her play you like this? Ha ha, it's true that people who are parachuted into high positions don't have any real skills."

An Ran has been extremely busy lately, trying to sort out the data from some old cases at her company.
