Chapter 120 - You won't kill anymore

Damian didn't say a word as he held her waist and gently led her outside.

The afternoon air was warm, heavy.

Guards stepped aside immediately.

He opened the car door for her. This time, she didn't protest. She let him help her in, one hand protectively over her stomach. Damian entered after her and started the engine.

As the car moved, he reached for her hand.

She hesitated only for a second before letting him hold it. His thumb rubbed slow circles over her skin, grounding, careful—like he was afraid she might disappear again.

"Damian," she called softly.

"Yes, cupcake."

She swallowed. "I need to go for checkups. I always did them in Holland but…"

"I can call my doctor," he said immediately.

She shook her head. "Damian, I need to go to a hospital."

He glanced at her, then sighed, defeated in the softest way.

"Fine," he said. "Not like I can say no to you."

Her cheeks warmed. She looked away, smiling despite herself.

His phone rang.

Damian picked it up.
