In addition to the three original foundational skills, the Emotion Perception Fruit had granted Elric three entirely new abilities upon reaching Level 2:
[Fixed-Point Clairvoyance]
[Psychic Peeping]
[Tears of Hot Iron — Steel Whales]
One offensive skill. Two invaluable support skills.
And among them, the support abilities were the genuine treasures worth celebrating.
Especially Psychic Peeping—the ability to directly read someone's past memories and extract hidden intelligence. That meant any secrets, schemes, conspiracies, or hidden motives of others could be laid completely bare before him like an open book.
A terrifying and absolutely invaluable tool for navigating the treacherous social landscape of apocalypse survival.
As for Tears of Hot Iron — Steel Whales, Elric wasn't particularly excited about gaining another offensive technique. He already possessed countless devastating ways to kill people efficiently—magma fists, spatial cutting, Gamma Knife, physical domination through Ancient Zoan transformation.
The Emotion Perception Fruit wasn't fundamentally designed for direct offense anyway, so the skill likely wasn't exceptionally powerful compared to his other options.
But when combined strategically with Fixed-Point Clairvoyance?
The synergy turned sinister and terrifying.
Mark someone with a surveillance anchor—and I can remotely strike them with molten steel whales from miles away. Even from across the entire country if necessary. Untraceable assassination from impossible distances.
Perfect for eliminating threats who thought they were safe due to distance or hiding.
Elric closed the glowing translucent system window hovering before his enhanced eyes and exhaled slowly with satisfaction.
"From today onward... my comprehensive strength has stepped into an entirely new tier of capability."
His analytical gaze shifted to survey the surrounding environment—the city-style luxury apartment complex known as SGinkgo Heights.
A high-end influencer hotspot before the collapse, filled with wealthy residents, online celebrities, models, and undoubtedly hidden supernatural talents who had awakened abilities.
There was absolutely no way the only "qualified System adopter" in this entire massive complex was just only one.
There were definitely others here. Hidden. Cautious. Waiting.
He could practically feel their presence—like wolves hiding beneath silk sheets, pretending to be harmless sheep.
Elric absolutely had to find them and add them to his collection.
But systematically knocking door-to-door across thirty-three buildings would be tedious, time-consuming, and completely beneath someone of his status.
The simplest, most efficient solution?
Make them come to him.
Elric borrowed Elsa's smartphone, stepped out onto the balcony with Natasha following curiously, and opened the Silverleaf Heights Official Residents Group chat.
Without hesitation or diplomatic preamble, he typed directly:
"Hello, Silverleaf Heights residents. This is Elric from Building 9, Floor 28."
"Just now, I personally eliminated all the violent thugs terrorizing this community and saved everyone's lives."
"From this moment forward, I will assume complete management authority over this residential complex."
"Anyone opposed to this arrangement?"
Message sent.
Less than ten seconds passed before—
Ping! Ping! Ping!
The chat exploded with responses scrolling rapidly.
"Building 2, Unit 1101: OMG you're the guy who killed those thugs earlier?? I saw everything from my window! SO COOL!! I support you 100%! You're amazing!"
"Building 7, Unit 901: I completely agree! With a powerful manager like you protecting us, we're finally safe! You're a real hero, Elric!"
"Building 5, Unit 1203: Thank you so much for saving us! We fully support your leadership!"
The initial responses were overwhelmingly positive—gratitude, support, relief.
But then the tone shifted dramatically:
"Building 8, Unit 505: Young man... this Auntie's food supplies are running dangerously low. Since you're such a kind hero with abilities, maybe you could venture outside and gather food for me? Hmm?"
"Building 7, Unit 707: Same here, Brother Elric! I have two young children to feed. We have no clean water remaining. A community manager should naturally help residents in need, right?"
"Property Management Office - Jenna: That's absolutely correct, Mr. Elric. Great power comes with great responsibility. You should contribute your abilities for the collective benefit of the community."
"Building 4, Unit 602: Yeah, exactly! Help us survive! We're counting on you!"
"Building 11, Unit 808: Once this disaster passes, we'll definitely give you a thank-you banner and public recognition!"
Dozens of similar entitled messages rolled in continuously, each one making increasingly presumptuous demands.
Elric stared at the screen with genuine disbelief.
Everyone enthusiastically agreed he should be the community manager and leader.
But somehow... they had already begun morally extorting him within minutes.
Did they genuinely see him as their personal guardian angel and servant?
Protect them from all threats. Risk his life fetching food and water for them. Guarantee their safety. Do all the dangerous work while they hide comfortably...
What would come next? Demands that he babysit their pets and do their laundry?
Elric slowly raised one hand to his forehead, genuinely amazed by the audacity.
"Absolutely unbelievable... They actually think I'm here to serve them?"
His eyes darkened significantly, and a sharp, predatory grin tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Since they've so enthusiastically chosen me as their manager... I'll show them what a real apocalypse manager looks like."
Do these people not own mirrors? Do they not realize how grotesquely inflated their egos are? They think power exists to serve the weak?
Elric cracked his knuckles methodically and typed a new message into the Silverleaf Heights resident group chat:
"I think you all fundamentally misunderstood something important."
"By 'manager,' I mean everything in this community—every apartment, every supply stockpile, every resource—now belongs to ME personally."
"I saved your pathetic lives from violent death. Therefore, I OWN this place and everyone in it."
"Your new assigned task is simple: Gather resources for me. Provide useful intelligence. Obey commands without question."
