Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Mr. 3

"Why is there a T-Rex here?!" Usopp's voice cracked as he fumbled for his slingshot, hands trembling as he tried to position himself between the charging dinosaur and his crewmates. "It's heading straight for us!"

"This must be one of those ancient islands," Nami said, her navigator's knowledge kicking in despite her own fear. "The Grand Line's unpredictable climate isolates some islands completely. While others develop advanced technology, places like this preserve ecosystems from millions of years ago."

Igaram stepped forward with surprising calm, drawing his concealed pistols from within his elaborate curls. The weapons barked repeatedly as he emptied their chambers at the approaching predator, but the bullets seemed to do little more than anger the massive beast.

"That's not going to be enough!" Vivi called out, watching the Tyrannosaurus Rex shake off the minor wounds and charge even faster toward their ship.

Just as Eren began to rise from his chair, preparing for another exhausting transformation, a massive shadow fell across the scene. An enormous figure emerged from behind the T-Rex, wielding a battle axe that dwarfed entire trees. With a single mighty swing, the giant warrior cleaved the prehistoric predator cleanly in half.

The giant straightened to his full height—twenty meters tall—and dragged the dinosaur's carcass toward the Going Merry's anchorage. When he bent down to examine the ship's occupants, his bearded face was larger than some of their bodies.

"Do you have any alcohol aboard?" the giant asked, his voice rumbling like distant thunder but surprisingly friendly.

"Y-yes! Of course!" Nami stammered, quickly gathering every bottle and barrel of alcohol they could spare. The crew's entire store of drinks looked pathetically small in the giant's massive hands.

The giant's face broke into a delighted grin. "Wonderful! I am Dorry, warrior of Elbaf! Come, share this T-Rex meat with me—fresh dinosaur is a delicacy!"

As Dorry held their wine barrel between two fingers like a thimble, the crew found themselves accepting his invitation to what promised to be the most unusual dinner party of their lives.

Their meal was interrupted by the sudden eruption of Little Garden's central volcano. Dorry immediately set down his portion of roasted meat and reached for his massive sword and shield.

"The volcano!" he exclaimed with excitement rather than alarm. "Time for our duel!"

From across the island came an answering roar, and another giant—this one with a wild mane of hair and an equally impressive beard—came charging through the jungle. The two titans met in the center of Little Garden with a clash that shook the entire island.

"Gegyagyagya! Ready for another round, Dorry?"

"Always, Brogy! Let's make this one count!"

For nearly fifteen minutes, the two giants battled with the intensity of mortal enemies and the joy of old friends. Their weapons rang against each other with sounds like thunder, until finally both warriors struck simultaneously. Shield met face on both sides, and both giants crashed to the ground in perfect synchronization.

"Gegyagyagya! Another draw!" Brogy laughed from where he lay.

"That makes it 73,466 duels, all tied!" Dorry replied with equal mirth.

The giants helped each other to their feet and shared the remaining alcohol, explaining to their astounded audience that this ritual had continued for over a century. Neither could remember what they'd originally been fighting about, but the tradition had become sacred to them both.

While Dorry entertained his guests, Luffy had somehow managed to find Brogy's camp and was already fast friends with the other giant. Meanwhile, Zoro and Sanji had ventured deeper into the island's interior, their hunting competition having escalated to tracking increasingly dangerous prey.

The peaceful atmosphere was shattered by the arrival of unwelcome visitors.

"Well, well," came a cultured voice from the jungle's edge. "What a delightful gathering we've stumbled upon."

Three figures emerged from the vegetation. The leader was a pale man with an elaborate hairstyle featuring the number "3" worked into its design. Beside him walked a small girl with paint-stained fingers and an unnaturally serene expression. The third figure—a tall woman with long black hair and sharp, intelligent eyes—observed the scene with quiet calculation.

"There are three of us, so you should just accept your deaths quietly," Mr. 3 announced with theatrical flair. "I am Mr. 3 of Baroque Works, and I've come to collect several bounties today."

His gaze swept over the assembled group with predatory satisfaction. "Not only will I eliminate the Straw Hat Pirates and Princess Vivi, but I'll also claim the bounties on these two giants. A hundred million berries each—they've been wanted for quite some time."

"These people are your enemies?" Dorry asked, his jovial expression hardening as he reached for his weapons. The giant truly despised having his hospitality interrupted.

"Baroque Works has been hunting us since Whiskey Peak," Nami replied, abandoning any pretense of diplomacy. "A group of bounty hunters working for pirates—the irony would be funny if they weren't trying to kill us."

"Bounty hunters helping pirates?" Dorry's voice carried genuine disgust. "Then I'll help you deal with them. We can resume our feast afterward."

The twenty-meter giant stood and hefted his massive axe, striding toward the Baroque Works agents with purposeful intent. Mr. 3, however, showed no sign of intimidation.

"How quaint," the wax man said, small flames dancing atop his hair as his arms transformed into flowing white wax. "A giant thinks he can intimidate a Devil Fruit user."

"Candle Lock!"

Streams of liquid wax flowed from Mr. 3's body toward Dorry's legs. The moment the substance made contact, it hardened instantly into restraints stronger than steel chains. Dorry's charge became a stumble, then a crash as he fell face-first into the earth.

"It's not over yet," Mr. 3 continued with sadistic pleasure. "Candle Service Set—Giant Sword!"

More wax erupted from his body, forming in midair before solidifying into a massive blade. The weapon pierced through Dorry's limbs, pinning the giant warrior to the ground as blood began to flow from the wounds.

"One giant down," Mr. 3 declared triumphantly. "Now for the rest of you insects."

Usopp managed a few shots with his slingshot, but the projectiles bounced harmlessly off a wall of hardened wax that Mr. 3 conjured without apparent effort.

"These are your best efforts?" the Baroque Works agent scoffed. "Miss All Sunday won't even need to participate in this slaughter."

The woman in question—Miss All Sunday—watched the proceedings with detached interest, her gaze lingering on Eren with curiosity. According to Baroque Works' intelligence files and the Sky Screen glimpse of future, no such individual should have been traveling with the Straw Hat Pirates.

As Mr. 3 advanced on the remaining crew members, his body wreathed in protective wax armor, the others instinctively stepped back. All eyes turned to Eren, who had remained seated throughout the confrontation.

"Putting your hopes in an inexperienced child?" Mr. 3 laughed. "How pathetic. Allow me to demonstrate why that's a mistake—Candle Champion!"

A torrent of liquid wax erupted from his body, forming a wave nearly two meters high that crashed down toward Eren's position. No matter how physically capable their mysterious ally might be, once encased in hardened wax, movement would be impossible.

For a moment, it seemed Mr. 3's confidence was justified. Where Eren had been sitting, only a white wax sculpture remained, perfectly preserved in its final moment.

Then golden lightning split the air.

The wax prison began to crack and steam as intense heat built within it. Flesh, bone, and sinew expanded at an impossible rate, shattering the hardened restraints like an eggshell. In seconds, a twenty-meter titan stood where a young man had been moments before.

The Attack Titan's green eyes blazed with predatory hunger as it turned its attention to the suddenly much smaller Baroque Works agents below.
