Chapter 3: Five Qi Body Refinement
The Tuo She Ancient Emperor Jade!
Xiao Yuan quickly remembered. Such a distinctive feature was none other than the Tuo She Ancient Emperor Jade!
But why were there two pieces? Xiao Yuan was somewhat puzzled.
Unable to resist, he reached out and touched it. Then...
One of the jade pieces suddenly began to glow with five colors, and a vast stream of information rushed into Xiao Yuan's soul.
Finally, as if sensing Xiao Yuan's low cultivation, the stream of information transformed into a five-colored scroll. Xiao Yuan could only open the very beginning of it, but from that, he learned some exciting information.
In the ancient era, there were methods of cultivation that didn't solely rely on fighting energy. However, something must have happened along the way, causing other cultivation methods to vanish, and fighting energy instead spread, eventually becoming the sole cultivation method.
Among the records, there was a cultivation technique created by an ancient powerhouse, known as the Five Qi Body Refinement Method.
By using specific materials and secret techniques, the five organs were refined into energy chambers, also known as the Five Yuan Qi Chambers, allowing those with special physiques who couldn't absorb fighting energy or form a fighting cyclone to qualify for cultivating fighting energy.
The five organs correspond to five attributes: liver (wood), heart (fire), spleen (earth), lungs (metal), and kidneys (water).
The refined energy chambers are the liver's Green Wood Qi Chamber, heart's Red Fire Qi Chamber, spleen's Yellow Earth Qi Chamber, lungs' White Metal Qi Chamber, and kidneys' Black Water Qi Chamber.
Thus, those who practice the Five Qi Body Refinement Method will have five fighting energy attributes and five times the fighting energy storage of someone of the same level.
Moreover, as long as the energy is sufficient, there will be no small bottlenecks in cultivation. The person will naturally advance to the next level once all five Qi Chambers are filled to the threshold.
However, due to the limited capacity of the five organs, every time a major bottleneck is reached—specifically, when breaking through to the next tier—the corresponding secret technique must be used to refine the five organs and surpass their limits.
Because of this, Xiao Yuan never thought of himself as a waste. As for the mockery from others, he initially felt displeased, but later on, he became indifferent to it.
After all, as the saying goes: "You can't talk about ice to summer insects, and a cicada doesn't know the autumn and spring."
As for those so-called cultivation resources, he really had no use for them. It would be better to let the old man in Xiao Yan's ring absorb a few more breaths.
In the future, he'd make that old man explode with coins!
Speaking of which, it seemed that tomorrow, Nalan Yanran would be arriving. The old man in the ring should show up as well, right?
Knock, knock, knock!
Just as Xiao Yuan was lost in thought, a knock suddenly came at the door!
"Enter!"
Xiao Yuan glanced at the door and said indifferently.
Creak.
The door opened, and an elderly man in a green robe walked in, his murky eyes showing a hint of a smile.
"Third Young Master."
He spoke respectfully.
"Uncle Mo? Why are you here? Did my father send you for something?"
Xiao Yuan asked in surprise.
"Third Young Master, the clan leader wants you to finish your work in the marketplace and return to rest early. Tomorrow, we have an important guest visiting, and Third Young Master should rest well and be in the best condition to meet them."
The old voice rang with a smile but left Xiao Yuan feeling somewhat confused.
What does this have to do with him?
Moreover, he had a clear understanding of his appearance, and even in the uniform of the Xiao family, he was still handsome enough to make many young girls swoon.
But since it was his father's order, he decided to follow it.
"Alright, I'll go home early tonight. Uncle Mo, is there anything else?"
Xiao Yuan nodded and agreed before asking.
"Oh, then I won't disturb you, Third Young Master. I'll take my leave."
Uncle Mo bowed respectfully and then quietly left, closing the door behind him.
"I hope everything goes smoothly tonight."
After watching Uncle Mo leave, Xiao Yuan suppressed his excitement and began to focus on handling the marketplace affairs.
That night, Xiao Yuan returned to his room, carrying a bundle.
After opening the bundle and seeing the various minerals, herbs, stones, jade bottles, and paper packages inside, Xiao Yuan nodded in satisfaction.
"Tsk, when it's someone from our side handling it, you can trust it. Tomorrow... well, maybe it'll be the day after, I'll need to give Payne more gold coins for sure."
Saying that, he quickly crawled under the bed and retrieved a jade box from a hidden compartment.
After crawling back out from under the bed, Xiao Yuan's eyes gleamed with fiery excitement. Rubbing his hands together, he opened the jade box.
Inside were five magic cores of different attributes, all rank one. These were things Xiao Yuan had been searching for ever since he began managing the marketplace three years ago.
It wasn't until a month ago that he finally acquired the fifth core, the Fire Attribute. The items on the table were also things he had instructed Payne to collect, and today, everything was finally complete.
"Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, five different attribute rank one magic cores. Collected from the most refined Xuan Iron Crystal Stones of autumn, the Qingmu Vines from spring, the water formed from unfallen snow in winter, the firestones that had been baked in the Tagor Desert for three months during summer, and the Earth Hearth Stone collected from all four seasons."
"Really, it's been both time-consuming and expensive!"
Xiao Yuan sighed with a face full of emotion, then rubbed his hands again. His eyes filled with anticipation.
"Xiao Yan and I both restored our talents. I'm sure Father will be very happy."
Taking a deep breath to calm his excited emotions, Xiao Yuan began drawing a complex formation on the ground with the Earth Hearth Stone, placing the remaining four materials in the four corners of the formation. He then placed the corresponding attribute magic cores in place, before sitting cross-legged in the center of the formation, holding the Earth Attribute magic core.
"Let's begin!"
Once everything was prepared, Xiao Yuan's eyes flashed with determination. He bit his tongue, drawing blood, and sprayed it onto the Qingmu Vine and Wood Attribute magic core.
As the blood flickered, the formation activated, and the green energy began to flow into Xiao Yuan's body through his breath.
The next moment, Xiao Yuan's face changed. A sharp pain radiated from his upper right abdomen, so intense that he nearly cried out. Sweat beads appeared on his forehead, and his back was drenched in sweat.
It really hurt!
Gritting his teeth, Xiao Yuan muttered in his heart, but then focused entirely on following the secret method recorded in the scroll, guiding the energy from the transformed magic core through the formation to open the Qi Chambers in his organs.
Over the next two and a half hours, energy from different attributes entered Xiao Yuan's body every half hour, opening the Qi Chambers in his organs.
When the black water energy finally ran out, Xiao Yuan opened his eyes.
He then formed a long-awaited hand seal and tried to absorb fighting energy.
Moments later, when the first trace of fighting energy appeared in the Liver's Green Wood Qi Chamber, Xiao Yuan's eyes filled with wild joy!
It worked!
It finally worked!
After the excitement, Xiao Yuan lowered his head and glanced at the magic cores.
The five magic cores were dim, but still glowing faintly, indicating that there was likely still a small amount of residual energy inside.
Seeing this, a bold idea rose in Xiao Yuan's heart.
Perhaps...
