Chapter 83: How Can I Take a Disciple Like This?!
The moon hung like a silver hook, and stars glittered across the sky.
Xiao Yuan sat on the ground in a meditative posture.
But he couldn't stop his mind from drifting back to Yun Yun's snow-white, cloud-like softness.
While he had no stray thoughts while treating her wounds, afterward, it was hard not to feel a little shaken.
After all, her flushed, lovely face and delicate skin made it nearly impossible not to think impure thoughts. Forget being a man—any woman might've been tempted to sneak a feel, too.
Whenever he closed his eyes now, he could recall the smoothness and softness he'd felt at his fingertips when applying the ointment to her chest.
"Sigh, this is hard to endure."
Xiao Yuan sighed with a hint of frustration. He glanced at the now-cool porridge in the pot and looked up at the twinkling stars, recalling the peaceful nights when he'd once sat under the moon counting stars with the Little Doctor Fairy.
After a moment of idle stargazing, he rekindled the fire and started reheating the porridge.
It was late, and he was hungry again.
Inside the cabin, Yun Yun's brows furrowed slightly as her tightly shut eyes fluttered open.
Looking around at the familiar wooden hut, she instinctively tried to sit up.
But the sharp pain in her chest made her gasp softly.
She lowered her head and lifted the blanket, revealing a sheet of flawless, snowy-white skin.
The once-fierce wounds had vanished without a trace.
Though her internal injuries remained severe, with her strength and resilience, she could likely break the Amethyst Winged Lion King's internal seal in five to seven days.
Gurgle~
Her stomach suddenly let out a loud growl.
Yun Yun rubbed her smooth, flat belly and tried to sit up again.
After a full night's rest, she had regained some strength. Her limbs were no longer numb, and though her internal pain was still there, it was bearable.
She managed to sit up, but as the blanket slipped away, her bare, pale body was once again exposed to the air. She instinctively reached for her storage ring—only to remember that her Dou Qi was sealed, and she couldn't access it.
Quickly, she pulled the blanket back up to cover herself and sighed helplessly.
Sure, Yuan Xiao had helped her… but wasn't this price a bit too much? At this point, she only had a white triangular piece of undergarment left on her.
As her thoughts swirled, she recalled that earlier moment when the handsome youth gently applied medicine to her chest with focused eyes and graceful fingers. Her face blushed deeper.
There wasn't any powerful clan named Yuan within the empire. That youth, Yuan Xiao, had both talent and charm. If he were suitable, she could consider bringing him back to Misty Cloud Sect.
But… really take him as a disciple? What kind of disciple sees and touches his master before even entering the sect?
The thought made Yun Yun cover her face with both hands, despair washing over her.
Yanran was already the sect's successor. If she brought another talented youth back, Yanran might not be happy…
Maybe… she could take him in as someone else's disciple?
Perhaps it was due to her temporary weakness and the intimacy of their earlier interaction, but Yun Yun's thoughts shifted from those of a sect master to those of a woman.
Realizing she was thinking far too much, Yun Yun gave up on trying to reason it out and hesitated before softly calling, "Yuan Xiao?"
"You're awake, Senior? Perfect timing—I've reheated the porridge. Should I bring you some?"
His voice came from outside the window. Yun Yun panicked slightly, quickly lying back down and tucking the blanket around herself.
The sudden motion tugged at her internal injuries, making her groan in pain.
She was about to tell him not to come in… but then remembered he was the one who undressed her in the first place. What was the point of objecting now?
Resigned, she tucked the blanket tighter and calmly replied, "Mm, sorry to trouble you."
Soon, Xiao Yuan entered with a steaming bowl of porridge.
Smelling its delicious aroma, Yun Yun's stomach growled again, and her face flushed with embarrassment.
When she saw Xiao Yuan sit beside the bed, her eyes flickered with nervousness.
He scooped a spoonful, blew on it gently, and brought it to her lips.
"You said you weren't able to move, right?" he said, noticing her dazed expression.
Realizing what he meant, Yun Yun looked into his sincere eyes, then, feeling her aching insides, abandoned any pretense. She tilted her head and opened her lips slightly.
The warm porridge entered her mouth, and the rich aroma of rice made her furrowed brows relax.
But then, Xiao Yuan set the bowl aside and took out a cushion from his ring. Naturally, he placed an arm behind her shoulders, lifted her slightly, and slipped the cushion behind her back to prop her up.
Her face blushed again, but since his hand had been on her shoulder—over the blanket—and it had been for her convenience, she said nothing. Silently, she let him feed her.
Moments later, with the porridge in her belly, a warm satisfaction spread through her, improving her mood.
"Do you want to rest more, Senior? Should I remove the cushion?" Xiao Yuan asked earnestly.
"Ah—no, it's fine. I can't sleep yet. It's comfortable like this."
She quickly declined.
"Alright, then I won't disturb you. I'll step out now."
He nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait—"
Yun Yun had just sighed in relief, but when he reached the door, she blurted out.
"Yes, Senior?"
He turned back with a questioning look.
Yun Yun's face flushed again, her expression awkward, hesitating for a moment before whispering, "My storage ring won't open… Can you give me a set of clothes?"
Huddled beneath the blanket, her eyes looked as fragile as a startled deer's.
"Oh! I didn't think of that." Xiao Yuan smacked his forehead. "I don't have women's clothes, but if you don't mind, I have a clean robe you can use."
With that, he pulled out one of his spare white robes, walked back to the bedside, and gently placed it by her pillow.
He gave her a polite nod, then left the room without lingering.
Listening to his footsteps fade outside, Yun Yun pulled the blanket over her head.
With things like this… even if she brought him back to Misty Cloud Sect, she'd never be able to focus on teaching!
