Chapter 125 - Chapter 125

"Let's discuss this later," Carl gestured for silence, continuing to communicate with Deoxys. After repeated attempts, he finally understood its intention: Deoxys sought to temporarily open a portal using the power of the Cosmog duo to summon reinforcements.

The prospect of help from another dimension intrigued Carl. Although Cosmog's power could maintain the portal only for a brief moment, he readily agreed to the request.

He promptly directed the two Cosmog, "Open the portal!"

With a unified "Coo~," the two little creatures soared into the air, their energies combining.

A vibrant, multicolored portal burst open instantly.

"This can't be!" Lusamine's eyes widened in disbelief. The passage she had studied for years, which remained elusive, was now opened effortlessly by Carl.

At that moment, a prepared Deoxys shot a beam of light from its chest crystal through the portal.

Suddenly, another Deoxys appeared, identical except for its yellow crystal. The two alien beings exchanged a glance and vanished.

Booms echoed across the sky. Carl looked up, exclaiming, "Attacking the shiny Rayquaza? Are you out of your minds?"

Meanwhile, a colossal explosion erupted over the northern sea, painting the night with fiery hues. Water Pokémon like Gyarados and Lapras fled in terror, the sea reflecting the chaos above.

On a nearby cruise ship, passengers and fishing trainers rushed to the deck in awe of the spectacle. The residents of nearby islands stood frozen, their faces etched with fear at the seemingly apocalyptic scene.

"What on earth is happening?"

"Is it a war?"

"Could it be a nuclear weapon?"

High above, four distinct lights dominated the night sky. People on the ground looked up, unable to discern the battle raging thousands of meters above. Three creatures, similar in form but differing in the color of their chest crystals, were ganging up on a shiny, emerald Rayquaza.

The Rayquaza was in poor shape, with injuries and smoke billowing from its scales. Yet, the purple-crystal Deoxys fared worse, missing limbs and barely holding on with its companion's help.

Three against one? Rayquaza sneered at its foes. It had been a long time since it had been put at such a disadvantage—just as it nearly finished off the purple Deoxys, the others had sneakily ambushed it.

Rayquaza knew these adversaries well: purple was adept at maneuvering, green was the fastest, and yellow boasted the strongest attack. Green had aided yellow in that surprise attack.

Speechless, are we? Rayquaza taunted. In thousands of years, it had never been wounded like this.

Ignoring Rayquaza's provocations, the Deoxys remained silent and focused.

"Roar—(Dare to ignore me?)"

"Roar—(Fine!)"

If only it could understand human sarcasm, it might have heard Carl remarking, "Don't bother, they can't understand a word of your roars."

Carl, however, was busy dealing with Lusamine. Faced with the Cosmog duo, she had maintained her composure, but the portal's appearance had left her restless. If the portal had stayed open longer, she might have dived through it herself.

This is Lusamine's true nature, Carl mused.

Her questions came in rapid fire: "Where did you get two Cosmog? Why do they listen to you? How do you control the power of the portal? Can you help me with my research?"

"I'll agree to any terms you set!"

She even emphasized her words with a suggestive gesture.

Carl groaned, "A bit too much, isn't it?"

"What do you take me for?"

"You think I'd be swayed by such tricks?"

"If you want to negotiate, just say so!"

"Let's discuss it later, for now, look up!"

His attention was on the aerial battle.

The two Deoxys, using speed and power, managed to land hits on the shiny Rayquaza.

"Roar!"

After a brief silence, Rayquaza launched a furious counterattack, a purple dragon breath hurtling toward the Deoxys trio.

In a flash, the green-crystal Deoxys darted in front of its companions, its chest crystal glowing with an aurora as it morphed into an enormous, bloated orange shield.

The dragon breath shattered it into countless pieces. These fragments absorbed the energy of the dragon wave, a defensive ability of Deoxys—absorbing all attacks.

Of course, this absorption had limits: it couldn't exceed its capacity, and the absorption rate had to outpace damage. If it were the purple-crystal Deoxys, even in defense mode, it might have crumbled under Rayquaza's casual strike. But the green-crystal Deoxys, with its first-tier legendary strength and defensive form, barely managed to withstand the attack.

Carl's vision blurred momentarily. Even his top-tier abilities struggled to keep up with the rapid changes in the sky, barely capturing a fleeting cloud trail. In truth, Rayquaza had achieved short-distance teleportation at extreme speed.

"Godspeed!" Carl realized instantly.

"Boom!"

The delayed explosion reverberated. At its center, green light flashed intensely. Meanwhile, shiny Rayquaza turned, targeting the purple and blue Deoxys.

By now, with the yellow Deoxys's help, the purple Deoxys had nearly recovered. Sensing Rayquaza's focus, it switched to speed form, swiftly retreating with the yellow Deoxys. The yellow Deoxys unleashed a beam from its chest.

"Boom!"

The beam closed in on Rayquaza, which enveloped itself in a purple aura, charging forward fearlessly.

Carl gasped in shock.

"What's wrong?" Lusamine inquired.

"It's using a Dragon Rush!" Carl was incredulous. Just as Dragon Pokémon in the Sinnoh region typically didn't know Dragon Dance, ordinary Rayquaza didn't use this move. Was this shiny Rayquaza truly so unique?

"Are you crazy?" Lusamine chuckled, "I thought it was something serious. As the sky's ruler, revered by the Draconids as a dragon god, isn't it normal for a top-tier Dragon to have a move like Dragon Rush?"

Carl had no response.

Another thunderous crash boomed from above!

With overwhelming power, shiny Rayquaza pushed through Deoxys's beam, forcing its way to knock both opponents back. However, as it pursued, a chilling white beam struck from behind!

Green-crystal Deoxys seized the moment, releasing an Ice Beam.

In an instant, shiny Rayquaza was frozen solid, transformed into a massive ice sculpture. Seeing this, the other Deoxys quickly followed up with more Ice Beams, thickening the ice layer until it formed an impenetrable ice sphere, encapsulating the situation in a chilling finale.
