Chapter 136 - Chapter 136

Hoopa focused on the screen displaying the image of a Nihilego, its eyes lighting up with recognition. "I've seen this creature before; they live in the Sea of Tranquility."

Carl pressed further, "Can you find them in the Crown Tundra?"

"Let me give it a try," Hoopa replied, rubbing its tiny hands with determination. Capturing Ultra Beasts is far more challenging than ordinary legendary creatures, primarily because of their unique spatial energy.

"Watch me!" Hoopa concentrated intensely, and the ring's glow intensified.

Meanwhile, Lusamine regained her composure and weakly said, "I'm sorry, I don't remember who Lusamine is. Is that your name?"

"Yes, that's me," she quickly explained, already suspecting something was amiss with her sister.

"If you don't remember me, why did you recognize me earlier?" Lusamine asked, puzzled.

Lusamine's sister smiled gently, "Because I look in the mirror every day. You look so much like me and claim to be my sister, so of course, I wanted to consider your feelings first."

This response enlightened Lusamine. Indeed, the two were almost identical. This considerate personality was unmistakably her sister.

The key now was to understand why her sister had lost her memory and how to restore it. Thinking of this, Lusamine asked with a hint of impatience, "Where is Mohn?"

"Mohn? Who's that?" Lusamine's sister looked completely bewildered.

Lusamine was momentarily speechless.

Fifteen years ago, if anyone had reacted to Mohn's name, she would have been overjoyed.

Testing the waters, Lusamine asked, "Sister, doesn't Lillie have a father?"

Carl perked up, sensing this could be big news.

"Father? Why would Lillie need a father?" her sister asked, looking confused.

"Then how did you come to have her?"

"Of course, with the spring water from the Lake of Life," her sister replied with a smile.

Lusamine's expression changed instantly. "You used that again! If you hadn't lost your memory, I would have given you a piece of my mind."

"Don't be mad," her sister gently patted her back. "It's not good for your health."

Lusamine's anger subsided considerably.

"But have I truly lost my memory?" her sister tilted her head. "I remember everything from when I was young."

"We grew up together," Lusamine stated firmly.

"You're already forty?" Carl suddenly interjected.

The two sisters glared at him in unison.

"What do you mean by that?" Lusamine asked, her hands on her hips, eyes sharp.

Her sister added softly, "It's not polite to inquire about a lady's age."

"I just thought you both looked barely over twenty," Carl quickly clarified.

Lusamine huffed but said nothing.

Her sister chuckled, "Is he your boyfriend? Quite the sweet talker."

"Boyfriend?" Lusamine gave Carl a sideways glance. "At most, he's a prospective boyfriend."

"Prospective? At most?"

Though he knew she was being stubborn, Carl couldn't help but retort, "Didn't you promise that if I helped you find someone, you'd be my little wife? Are you trying to back out?"

This was actually Lillie's idea, and surprisingly, Lusamine had agreed. Carl could now guess her thoughts.

A forty-year-old woman who's never been in a relationship might have some unusual expectations. He found himself becoming an unexpected target of interest.

Luckily, being a small lover didn't seem like a bad deal.

The only downside was that Lusamine seemed to lack some exciting traits.

Becoming an idol wasn't that simple, Carl mused.

Still, it didn't stop him from teasing Lusamine.

"Little lover?" Her sister looked at her, surprised.

She didn't expect her sister to be so playful.

"Do you think I'd break a promise?" Lusamine felt offended, her cheeks flushed. "You've only completed half of it."

In other words, finding Mohn would complete the task.

Carl, fully aware, asked playfully, "Do you really want me to find Mohn?"

"Stop babbling!"

Seeing through her thoughts, Lusamine got flustered. "A promise is a promise. Besides, Lillie has always wanted to find her father, and there needs to be closure."

The result was what mattered, not necessarily finding that man.

As Carl suspected, she didn't truly want to see him.

Carl understood but didn't point it out.

He shifted the topic, "Does your sister need help with her memory?"

"You can do that?" Lusamine perked up.

With anyone else, she might have doubted it, but if Carl said it, he must have a way.

"A small matter."

Carl smiled lightly, turning his gaze to Hoopa.

Just then, a ring of light appeared, and through it emerged a jellyfish-like creature. Its translucent, umbrella-shaped body was adorned with white star patterns, and its golden, wavy edges were striking.

It had gelatinous tentacles, overall humanoid in shape. Several tentacles formed a cape-like structure, with shorter ones resembling arms and longer ones as legs.

Upon closer inspection, its body seemed almost glass-like!

"What is this?" Lusamine instinctively moved closer to Carl.

Her sister suddenly embraced the creature, softly calling, "Lillie, my sweet daughter."

Lusamine was utterly shocked. "???"

She couldn't believe this was her sister's second child.

Could it be that her sister was dissatisfied with Mohn, and now she wasn't even sparing the creatures?

This was worse than choosing herself.

Lusamine felt faint, her legs almost giving way.

Carl quickly supported her. "This is a Nihilego, an Ultra Beast. It's responsible for your sister's amnesia."

"Ultra Beast? The culprit for the amnesia?"

Her professional instinct kicked in, bringing clarity. "So my sister being kidnapped, losing her memory, and mistaking her daughter is all this creature's doing?"

"Exactly," Carl nodded.

Lusamine almost laughed. So her sister hadn't had a second child, nor had she lost her mind.

"Do you need help restoring your sister's memory?" Carl asked.

Lusamine was about to agree but hesitated, "Could you... make her forget Mohn?"

"Hmm? But wasn't Mohn important to Lillie?"

"Not really," Lusamine lowered her voice. "Since she's not biologically related, if I explain it to Lillie, she should understand."

Carl looked puzzled, "Your sister and Mohn aren't truly married?"

"That part is true."

"Then what about the daughter?"

"Well... do you know the secret of the Joy and Jenny families?"

Jenny and Joy? Carl was a bit surprised.

In this world where creatures coexist with reality, these two families do indeed exist. A century ago, they were only active in major league regions, but now they've spread globally.
