Chapter 49 - 46

'You need more power.'

In an instant, several invisible psionic tendrils shot out from his mind, piercing into the minds of the figures in the water tanks. Their consciousnesses were completely erased, replaced by his own psionic puppets.

At this moment, the figures in the water tanks suddenly opened their eyes.

Alex found that he could still control them as if they were his own limbs.

"This is not bad."

Chapter 49

Psionic Puppets!

Puppet subordinates that he could command as if they were his own limbs, completely at his disposal.

Although the X-Weapon was not particularly impressive to Alex, its deterrent power over others was undeniable.

Just this X-Weapon in front of him combined abilities like teleportation, Cyclops, and rapid self-healing.

The entire existence of the X-Weapon was undoubtedly based on Wolverine's healing factor. It could be said that all the beings in these nutrient tanks were clones of Wolverine.

"Logan?"

Alex recalled the name mentioned in the secret files.

Even in that snowfield laboratory in the past, he had heard of this name. After all, the immortal healing cells in his body were used to replace the healing factor of this Wolverine Logan.

"Hmm..."

He frowned. For some reason, Alex felt a hint of revulsion towards this fellow sufferer.

This was a very instinctive, deep-seated feeling.

Even his battle intuition subtly produced a sense of hostility.

Yet, in the past, he had never had any contact with the other party; he didn't know him.

So why was his mental reaction so strong?

"Something is wrong."

Alex trusted this subtle feeling. After all, after his psychic abilities had been developed and transformed, such inexplicable intuition and premonitions would definitely not be wrong.

With a hint of confusion, Alex's figure had already arrived at the underground level of the secret base.

Through the long, dim corridor, he could reach the prison area.

Suddenly, as he walked, Alex recalled how, not long ago, he himself had been pushed by several guards from a prison cell into that experimental room prepared for dissection.

In a short period of time, he had already experienced countless battles.

Who would have thought that just over a year ago, he was a gentle and calm big brother next door, a person who couldn't bear to step on a single flower on the grass, but was forced by reality to become the Number One Mutant, wanted by the entire world?

Returning to such a familiar experimental base, if it weren't for his genes beginning to transform and evolve during his emotional breakdown, he would probably... only end up as a constantly dissected and butchered guinea pig.

And his immortal body would be like a curse, making his life worse than death, forever doomed to be an experimental material like a perpetual motion machine, endlessly providing dissection data.

Thinking of this, Alex's mood worsened, and the killing intent in his mind intensified.

He already had a clear plan for tomorrow's public execution.

He arrived at the prison area with an expressionless face.

"You are free."

Click!

Under the strange telekinesis fluctuations, the sound of chains breaking continuously echoed.

During the previous annihilation wave, Alex had deliberately spared the lives of these pitiable individuals.

"This..."

The faces of the Mutants imprisoned in the cells changed, staring at this scene in disbelief.

At this moment, not only the iron locks on the cell doors, but also the handcuffs binding their hands and the leg chains at their feet, completely disintegrated under an invisible and strange telekinesis.

"Is this real or fake?"

"Oh my God, someone actually came to save me?"

"It's the X-Men! It must be them who saved us. This is Phoenix's telekinesis."

"Heh heh, them! I'd rather believe Magneto saved us than those cowards who only pander to humans."

Figures dressed in prison uniforms walked out.

Their faces were excited, yet also held a hint of hesitation.

However, upon seeing the young man at the end of the corridor, they were utterly bewildered.

No one had guessed that the person who saved them would be a young man?

Just him alone?

"Who is this person?"

"Oh my God, it's the Number One Mutant. He actually came to save us in person."

Suddenly, a tall young man walked out.

He immediately recognized Alex's identity.

Compared to the other Mutant compatriots who had not been exposed to sunlight for a long time, appearing pale-skinned and abnormally thin due to malnutrition, this guy was full of spirit and seemed to have only recently been imprisoned.

"Were you recently imprisoned?"

Alex asked coldly.

"Yes, a few days ago, those damn Stryker's subordinates arrested me when I went to a fast-food restaurant..."

The young man said with great indignation.

Upon hearing this, Alex frowned with some displeasure. He hadn't expected that after Stryker was imprisoned and investigated, his secret base was still operating, and even dared to continue its previous heinous acts.

These bastards seemed to have no regard for his actions at all.

One must know that under the world's public opinion, many people viewed General Stryker as the originator of all evil, and the public trial held the next day was also a mere formality.

But secretly, they were still doing such dirty deeds.

Compared to these things, this young man, known as 'Duplication Man,' noticed the confusion on everyone's faces and excitedly introduced Alex.

"He achieved something that even Magneto couldn't accomplish in the past. He emerged from a nuclear explosion, and he alone knocked down a group of Superheroes. Capital City even became his playground during the battle."

"That's why he's called the Number One Mutant."

Whoa!

After these words were thrown out, everyone was instantly shocked.

Surpassing Magneto?

It was known that the recognized leaders of the Mutants, besides Magneto Erik, were Professor Charles.

Both of their powers were extremely strong.

But could the young man in front of them actually achieve something that the extreme Mutant Magneto couldn't accomplish in the past?

How old was he?!

"Gulp..."

The sound of swallowing saliva inexplicably arose. After being freed from their restraints, many people naturally rushed out of the base in excitement. However, Alex's figure stood at the only corridor exit.

Everyone was intimidated by his achievements and dared not pass him, fearing that he might turn on them if they said something wrong.

A man's name, a tree's shadow.

Thinking that there had been no sound of commotion from the stairs above the entire time, and the guards seemed to have simply vanished.

Thinking of the opponent's exquisite telekinesis ability just now.
