Chapter 147 - Chapter 147: The Six Paths of Pain Attack

Chapter 147: The Six Paths of Pain Attack

Looking at Nagato's resolute expression, Konan did not speak again.

Even regarding this attack on the Hidden Mist Village, deep in Konan's heart there was always an extremely ominous feeling.

But Konan knew that Nagato would absolutely not abandon this plan to attack the Hidden Mist Village.

Since that was the case…

Konan looked at Nagato and asked softly, "When are we heading to the Hidden Mist Village?"

Nagato slowly raised his head. His Rinnegan gazed straight ahead as he replied calmly, "Now."

At this moment, in another dark room of the Akatsuki hideout.

Obito looked with some confusion at the suddenly appearing Zetsu. "What is it?"

"Nagato is going to attack the Hidden Mist Village. We need to make preparations in advance."

Black Zetsu spoke in a flat tone.

Attack the Hidden Mist Village?

Obito's expression changed slightly. Now was not the time.

After all, the plan had only just reached its second step. The current Akatsuki could not afford to be exposed so easily to the sight of the other ninja villages.

"Why didn't you stop him?" Obito looked at Zetsu, a trace of dissatisfaction in his voice.

"We follow your orders only to help perfect Lord Madara's plan. We are not truly loyal to you."

Black Zetsu looked at Obito and continued coldly, "The original plan is no longer workable. Now we can only activate the second plan left behind by Lord Madara."

Obito was stunned. Beneath his mask, his expression immediately darkened. As expected, Madara had left other contingencies back then.

"Our positions are now reversed. You will assist me."

Black Zetsu's voice sounded again, reaching Obito's ears.

Obito narrowed his eyes slightly, a flash of anger passing through them. A mere artificial being actually dared to have him assist it.

However, recalling Madara's terrifying presence, Obito fell silent. He was also quite curious about the backup measures Madara had left behind.

After a moment of silence, Obito said, "Fine."

Seeing Obito agree, Black Zetsu showed no emotional fluctuation at all.

As someone who had lived for a thousand years, Black Zetsu could not possibly fail to notice Obito's earlier thoughts.

"Still, I am somewhat curious. Is merely exposing the Akatsuki enough to warrant using another method?"

Obito looked at Black Zetsu, disbelief evident in his eyes.

"Of course not. There is a more important reason. You will know very soon."

Black Zetsu did not explain and replied calmly.

Obito spread his hands and asked, "Then what do we do now?"

Without hesitation, Black Zetsu said, "Head to the Hidden Mist Village."

———

Land of Water · Hidden Mist Village.

As a village perpetually shrouded in dense fog, for some unknown reason the weather had been unusually clear during this period.

This left many civilians who had long since adapted to life in the fog feeling somewhat unaccustomed for a time.

Still, clear weather always lifted people's spirits unconsciously.

In a forest some distance away from the Hidden Mist Village.

A man wearing a black cloak patterned with red clouds, with orange hair, slowly emerged from the forest. His expression was emotionless as he headed toward the distant Hidden Mist Village.

One of the Six Paths of Pain, the Animal Path.

This location was still somewhat far from the Hidden Mist Village.

The Animal Path swept his gaze around. After confirming that there were no ninja nearby, he lowered his body slightly, then suddenly burst forward toward the Hidden Mist Village.

The Animal Path sprinted rapidly, constantly using nearby trees and rocks to conceal his form as he moved.

Just as the Animal Path drew closer and closer to the Hidden Mist Village, a sharp whistling sound suddenly came from ahead.

Immediately afterward, a kunai shot straight into the ground not far in front of the Animal Path.

The Animal Path's rapidly advancing body paused slightly, then stopped. He raised his head expressionlessly and looked in the direction the kunai had come from.

Not far ahead, a young man was casually sitting atop a large rock, propping up his chin and looking at him with interest.

The Animal Path was silent for a moment. "Have I been discovered?"

"Yo, that was faster than I expected. If you'd come any later, I would have gone to find you myself."

Yuto wore a bright smile as he looked at the Animal Path and spoke.

"Looks like Kisame has already revealed all of Akatsuki's information. In that case, the only option is to kill everyone who knows."

The Animal Path replied coldly.

Yuto blinked and laughed loudly. "How decisive. But that depends on whether you actually have the ability to do it."

As Yuto's words fell, his figure vanished from the spot.

The Animal Path's Rinnegan immediately scanned the surroundings, while his hands prepared to slam rapidly onto the ground.

Splat.

A spray of blood burst forth.

The Animal Path abruptly halted his summoning motion, forcibly twisting his body and retreating rapidly backward.

Even so, one of his arms was still effortlessly torn off by Yuto.

"If your movements are too slow, you won't even have time to form hand seals in front of me."

Yuto casually tossed the Animal Path's severed arm onto the ground. Looking at the rapidly retreating Animal Path, a faint smile remained on his face from beginning to end.

While retreating quickly, the Animal Path raised his remaining arm and swiftly pressed it against his own body.

Bang. Bang.

A series of white smoke clouds appeared in front of Yuto.

When the smoke dispersed, six figures stood together in perfect formation, staring straight at Yuto.

"So even with only one arm, the summoning technique can still be used."

Yuto looked at the Animal Path with surprise in his eyes. This was something he genuinely had not known.

"With our intelligence exposed, the Hidden Mist Village truly prepared in advance. In that case, we'll start with you."

Deva Path Pain stood at the center of the six, his tone exceptionally calm.

Bang.

Accompanied by a dull impact, the Asura Path was the first to rush toward Yuto.

In just two leaps, the Asura Path appeared right in front of Yuto.

The Asura Path raised his fist violently and smashed it toward Yuto.

Yuto's body flickered, shifting sideways from his original position to the Asura Path's flank.

At the same time he evaded the Asura Path's attack, Yuto raised his fist and slammed it fiercely into the Asura Path's head.

Bang.

A muffled explosion rang out.

Half of the Asura Path's head was blown away by Yuto's punch, revealing the rotating gears inside.

"One down. Next, it's your turn."

Yuto narrowed his eyes slightly and smiled as he looked at the Six Paths of Pain ahead.

Nagato's true body should not be far from here. Until he found it, it seemed he could only fight these six first.
