Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Son of God

Lu Ze pretended to be controlled, but secretly listened to the conversation between Lan'erwusi and Hude Ougen. As he listened, he gradually understood their situation.

It turned out that Hude Ougen was a Beyonder from a mysterious organization called the Psychology Alchemists. He entered this asylum not because he had a mental illness, but to digest his Beyonder potion—a process he called "acting."

As for Lan'erwusi, he was also a Beyonder whose Pathway and Sequence were unknown. He fabricated the iron ore investment scam partly to plunder money, and partly for the acting of his Pathway.

The two had known each other before and were in a relationship of mutual exploitation.

Good heavens, all of you know how to use "acting" to digest Beyonder potions, and only I, an official Beyonder, am kept in the dark!

Lu Ze's teeth began to itch as he listened.

He started to feel uneasy. These two Beyonders, whose Pathways were unknown, gathered together, and their strength was definitely greater than his. If they discovered that he was an official Beyonder, his situation would definitely be very dangerous.

Thinking of this, he could only continue to pretend to be controlled, while secretly pondering how to deal with it.

In the current situation, the best outcome would be for Lan'erwusi and Hude Ougen to leave after their conversation, and Lu Ze would pretend he knew nothing. After he was discharged the next day, he would immediately rush back to headquarters, call his captain, and have Dunn bring a large team to arrest Hude Ougen, then Lan'erwusi.

Unfortunately, reality rarely meets expectations.

"Alright, that's enough reminiscing." Lan'erwusi placed the lantern on the bedside table, but kept his satchel in his hand. "I asked you to come because I need your help with something. I think you'll definitely be willing to help me."

"Tell me what it is first."

Hude Ougen became wary.

"Have you heard of the Aurora Order? I got something good from them."

"Are you out of your mind?!"

Hude Ougen's body trembled as if pricked by a needle, and his voice involuntarily rose. "How dare you associate with those Lunatics! Don't you know that the official Beyonders in Tingen City are about to uproot the local Aurora Order?!"

"Hey, calm down, my friend."

Lan'erwusi, however, was completely unfazed. Instead, he switched to a more seductive tone and retorted to Hude Ougen, "Don't you want to advance further in Sequence, or have a chance to reach a high Sequence in this life?"

Hude Ougen was stunned upon hearing this.

Lan'erwusi stood up, the light from the lantern shining on his body, casting a huge Darkness shadow on the wall behind him. For a moment, it seemed as if that shadow was his true form.

"Hude Ougen, this is the worst of times, and also the best of times. As long as we can seize the opportunity, we can also become the controllers of the world, truly immortal beings!"

"As long as you provide help, I will not only tell you how to master Beyonder potion power and avoid losing control, but I also promise to let you obtain a trace of divinity, immortal divinity, in the future!"

"You should be able to tell which existence is behind me. My promise is His promise, and the Psychology Alchemists, in a sense, also have a certain connection with Him."

"Do not doubt, the Psychology Alchemists are not yet powerful enough to provide you with sufficient help, unless you are willing to remain at your current rank forever."

Lan'erwusi smiled slightly maniacally, speaking enticing words in a magnetic voice, "So, what's your answer? Will you help me, or not?"

In the quiet ward, Hude Ougen's heavy breathing could be heard, clearly indicating that he was tempted.

Idiot.

Lu Ze thought to himself.

This Lan'erwusi was clearly an extremely cunning swindler. He must have used similar rhetoric to entice investors back then. If Hude Ougen believed his nonsense, he would probably end up as a discarded pawn after being used.

"Tell me, what exactly do you want to do?"

Hude Ougen took the bait.

Lu Ze saw a faint upward curve at the corner of Lan'erwusi's mouth. He pulled out a manuscript and showed it to the other party. "This is a magical ritual from the Aurora Order that can allow mortal women to conceive the Son of God!"

What?!

Lu Ze was greatly alarmed and almost cried out. Fortunately, Hude Ougen was even more flustered, which drew Lan'erwusi's attention away and prevented Lu Ze from being exposed.

"You're truly a Lunatic!"

Hude Ougen almost shrieked. He was too panicked and even wanted to refuse Lan'erwusi, who then had to use his rhetoric to entice him again, causing him to hesitantly agree.

What a complete Lunatic.

Lu Ze secretly thought to himself.

He recalled the ritual from his memory. This ritual essentially involved a female as a seedbed, using a large amount of human resentment as a catalyst, to pray for the projection of the True Creator to descend and conceive His offspring within the Mother. After this, the female would experience normal pregnancy reactions until childbirth.

But how could a mortal body bear the offspring of an evil god? So, at the moment the Son of God descended, the Mother who gave birth to Him would become His first sacrifice. Afterward, the Son of God would unleash a great disaster, plunging the world into fear.

Cruel, evil, insane!

"I've prepared everything. All you need to do is hypnotize that woman and make her cooperate with our ritual." Lan'erwusi said with a smile, devoid of any guilt. "Let's go quickly, her carriage has been waiting downstairs for a long time."

Hude Ougen had no choice but to stand up and follow Lan'erwusi, who had picked up the gas lamp again, out of the room.

Lu Ze pretended to be dazed, his eyes unfocused, allowing them to brush past him.

Hurry up and leave, so I can report you.

"Oh, by the way, I heard that if there's a living sacrifice, the success rate of the ritual is higher. Let's use him."

Just then, Lan'erwusi suddenly turned back and pointed at Lu Ze, speaking to Hude Ougen.

What the heck?

You old bastard, are you sick?!

Lu Ze cursed incessantly in his heart, watching as Hude Ougen rang the bell once more, then said to him, "Follow along."

With no other choice, he could only pretend to be controlled, dazedly following behind them down the stairs.

The inpatient building at night was Darkness and eerie. Their footsteps echoed in the corridor. Down the stairs and out the Door of the building, Lu Ze saw the asylum's main gate open, and a carriage was parked outside.

Lan'erwusi walked over alone, carried a young woman out of the carriage, and then returned to them with light steps.

This was a beautiful girl with long golden hair, currently half-opening her eyes, seemingly in a coma.

"Who is this?"

Hude Ougen frowned and asked, "Where did you get her?"

"Her?"

Lan'erwusi tilted his head and thought for a moment. "It seems those idiots arranged her for me. Fiancee?"

"Fiancee? Are you serious?"

Hude Ougen asked in surprise.

"Of course, I'm serious."

Lan'erwusi placed the girl on the stone table in the open space and patted her cheek. "She loves me so much, so of course, I have to give her the best experience in the world."

What a beast.

In the Darkness, Lu Ze subtly clenched his fist.

Since that's the case, don't blame me for being ruthless.
